Quella che suonano è la Marcia del Principe Eugenio, è una marcia militare solitamente suonata dall'esercito durante le rassegne di Generali e capi di stato maggiore
The Marcia Principe Eugenio is in reality the Prinz Eugen Marsch, a military march of Italys archenemy, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and its Imperial and Royal Army.
László Juhász Prince Eugen was a Savoy, the ruling dinasty of Italy till 1946. It is still played by Italian military bands to recall the Siege of Turin in 1706, where the Piedmontese and Austrian armies overtook the French one. The commander of Austrians was Prince Eugen, o principe Eugenio as he should be called, cousin of the Duke of Savoy, Amedeo II. This is the explanation of why this march is still played by Italians. You are welcome.
Avada Kedavra My problem is, that this march is the traditional march of the Austro-Hungarian Imperial and Royal Army ( the third largest army in the world before 1918 without colonial troops ), this is not an italian march. And the people in NY thinks, what a beautiful italian march! The italians sould say every occasions, as they play this march, that is not an italian march, they play this only for respect to Prinz Eugen. The copyright is for me austrian and hungarian cultural property :) Many people in the worl think, this is the best italian military march ever, this is sad.
László Juhász I like italians, and I respect Italy's beautiful great cultur, I am hungarian, and Hungary is forever grateful for Prinz Eugen, for the the liberation from turkish occupation. ( From 1541 to the 1690's the one third of the territory of Hungary was under turkish occupation.)
Thanks buddy, your words are really appreciated, and well considered, a glorious country like yours deserve and has all my humble respect. I hope my comment was clear enough to explain why we still play that march and the positive meaning it still has for us. See you.
Io non riesco a vedere gente triste. La verità è che loro stanno in America e ne sono fieri. Noi invece stiamo in un paese tristanzuolo e meschino e non ne siamo fieri.
Unfortunately the people who organized this parade have never researched the subject matter and if they did they will find out that the discovery was Hispanic not an Italian achievement. I think this is doing a disservice to the Italian-American community by providing misinformation and creating a false sense of pride.CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS www.flmnh.ufl.edu/caribarch/columbus.htm Christopher Columbus is credited with the first successful round-trip transatlantic voyage, but even his priority has been questioned.
With Hispanics he became Cristobal Colon and is son Diego by a Portuiguese wife became enobled with the title of The Duke of the TrueWaters (Duque de Veragua) still used by the descendants of Columbus who still live in Spain as part of Hispanic high Aristocracy. Italians of Columbus's age did not identify as Italians but with the city-state they were born to since an Italian political system did not emerge until the creation of the Kingdom of Italy in 1861.
