  • I'd like to give credit (and huge thanks!!) to franticsnow on Instagram for pointing out the importance of exposure and how I could have used it in Road to the Remedy! Many of the "what I would do now"'s were inspired by suggestions and examples she had given to me! Thank you Snow!

The "show, don't tell" rule is a really helpful (and sometimes difficult lol) thing! Also I love your art style. :D

Haha it can be tricky! It’s a thing I’m just starting to learn how to use, so I struggle with it sometimes. Thank you!

I love this for many reasons,
    1) I like listening to your voice when you explain. It's nice!
    2) Learning about the ways to make storytelling better by using the "show no tell" rule.
    3) It gives motivation to work on things even if I haven't physically worked on any.
    4) I love these videos!!

this helped me with the "show, don't tell" rule more, and i think it'll help me be more effective with it!
also, i do love the idea of ronnie screaming "GET AWAY!!!" and plants impaling the monsters- reminds me of the black swan for some reason

I’m glad to hear that!! Also yes aaagh I think a scene with Ronnie fighting the monsters would’ve been so cool!

Ok but for real- these analysis and explanation videos help so much. Especially how that I’m writing my own story
See the big driving point for the story is this war that happened previously- and the first chapter is legit just one of the protagonists going “Yeah a war just happened, we got back from a burial. Look there’s Olivesnap! Her brother died-“ and so on and so forth
So excuse me while I go back and write a prologue about the characters about to go into this war so the readers don’t have context exposition dumped onto them :3
    Many thanks Mo!

I really love the idea of writing a prologue about them going to war, then Chapter 1 time-skipping to after the war to be like, “So you know some of those characters from the prologue…yeah, some of them didn’t make it.” This sounds like a great story!

I am a very new subscriber and I must just say that I am in LOVE with your characters and this story!!! Not to talk about your gorgeous art style and super fun and entertaining personality!!
I have characters that I’ve been trying to come up with a good story and world building for a long time, I really wanna make a comic but I just can’t come up with anything good that satisfies me story wise, looking at this I just makes me feel like ‘this is what I want to make’ I want my story to be like this TwT
You may not be super satisfied with this story anymore, but let me just say that I absolutely adore it so so much, it’s so creative and interesting I wish I could come up with something similar♥️
You’re so incredibly talented and so underrated I swear
I’m already a big fan of your work and skills ahh TwT♥️💕♥️💕♥️💕♥️

How do u do it! 😔

Writing is a skill like any other; it takes time and lots of practice to build! I’ve been writing for years and I learn new things every time I try! My best advice I can give is don’t be afraid to fail. I’ve started and cancelled stories more times than I can count! But every time I do, I come away from it having more knowledge about writing than I did before. Being able to go back on your old work and pick out the things that you can see you did wrong is a great way to learn!
