East river drive. Transparent, based off of maxon 808, got mine for $52. Never turned it past 2:00 (great with keeley compressor plus into high gain) 👍
lol imma use a boost instead of the klon, then go dumble, tube screamer, then plexi, then a fuzz, finally a crunch/ocd distortion hybrid. have a ladder of gritty progression that goes from the 50's to the 90's,
Just discovered your channel, been going through your Keeley Workstation vids. Subbed! Seems we have similar tastes in terms of pedals. I'm using a Wampler Tumnus (or sometimes a Clone Central Centaur) for my K-style and I have an FD2 Mosfet (great dual pedal TS808/SD-1 asymmetrical clipping! with boost and various diode options) and my favourite TS-style pedal, the MI Effects Blue Boy Deluxe, made in my hometown of Sydney, Australia. MI are famous for the Crunch Box and Super Crunch Box, but I prefer Mike's other pedals, like the BBD, the Crossover Drive, Super Blues Pro, and his awesome (and sadly discontinued) fuzzes, the GI (si) and Neo (ge). If you ever get a chance to play some MI pedals, please do so! I like your demos, you don't seem to be doing the proguitarshop or Prymaxe thing of using the absolute best gear, best mics recorded using high-end pro recording gear and tweaked with EQ to sound amazing. Yours are more representative of what we players are going to hear when we plug in at home (not to say it's bad, you sound great and you do have some sweet gear, love that Deluxe you used for the Monterey demo). For Plexi, I use a Zvex Box of Roxk Vexter Series or a Jetter pedal, Red Square. I *love* Jetter overdrives. The Jetdrive, GS103 and Traindrive are freakin' amazing.
pako gtl i follow the keeley compressor plus (single coil mode is tighter than humbucker mode) with a east river overdrive and damn i love it into high gain
Dude I have all those pedals and the Archer is the worst of the "Klons" the Tumnus is the best of the Klon clones also the Soul Driven is NOT a TS Type pedal.
The Soul Driven is based on...AC Booster? And yeah man, I like Sould Food and Tumnus, with the latter being my fave. Ever heard of the Clone Central Centaur? It's amazing, really well made Klone. Shane from "In The Blues" has a couple demos. If you can find a real one (so many garbage Klones out there in gold and silver boxes with junk inside), grab it. They are around $100, there's only one seller on Ebay who stocks Clone Central pedals.
If it is based on an AC Booster then it is sorta a TS-style pedal. The AC is like a TS with more control over the eq. But it doesn't sound exactly like a tube screamer, no. I like my AC Booster after a full-range OD (BD-2, Keeley SPM ge, OCD), really tightens it up and punches through.
This was EXACTLY what I was looking for.
Sounds good with my fuzz pedals !

Thanks for all the insight and info!

Cool ! Thanx for such a nice prsentation !😁
Thank you!
Very informative Seth, thanks!
Could the klon clone ikon sound like a plexi with the drive up?
Cool video thank you!
ALL TEST SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE ON A HOT ROD DELUXE ONLY!!!
No.
The soul driven is not a typical tube screamer at all.... It sounds more like a fuzz disguised as an overdrive.

DEFINITELY!

Do you think is usefull to have a TS and a klone in the same pedalboard or one overdrive is enough?

Yes it’s useful. It’s like adding subtle layers of overdrive. They stack pretty well. Still, it depends what you like to play.
Klone for rhythm and TS for lead
JHS morning glory similar to klone
Keeley Red Dirt similar to TS
Would've been nice to just hear them all back to back without the 10 minutes of talking in between.
3:20 Clean Tone
3:54 Archer
4:50 Archer (less gain, more volume)
5:20 Archer (full gain)
6:29 Tube Screamer
7:00 Tube Screamer (more gain)
8:10 Plexi Drive
8:40 Plexi Drive (less gain)
9:23 Plexi Drive (lots of gain)
10:05 Plexi + Tube
10:13 All three
