I like that little shop! I received that Johnny Rivers album when it was new, 1968? I love it and the whole feeling of the album. It's a special piece, and I'm glad you found it and showed it! Cheers!!
Just spent the week with friends on Bainbridge Island exploring the islands. Rockin’ Ruby’s Records in Poulsbo has a cool vibe. Owner just got in a very nice/clean blues collection. Mazzy you gave me a great list of Seattle shops, was able to check out a few! Awesome time up in the PACNW. Highly recommend tuning into Seattle’s KEXP Radio…awesome programming!
I was shocked at how many cars were waiting to take the ferry to go to the record store, wow. Popular place. I have yet to hit a store in Denver after 1 month. Someday soon
Oh nice work, Mazzy. Welcome to the island (I'm an island resident). Be sure to come back when it's 75F and sunny. There's a nice place or two to have a martini before your record shopping next time. :-) - Rob
Thanks for the great idea. I’m coming from Minneapolis to visit my family in Gig Harbor in two weeks so now I’m gonna make a run over on Vashon and check Side Stack out and if you wouldn’t have grabbed that Mance album I would have. Nice find.
Vashon Island is the home of Chapman Audio Systems which makes speakers. I have a pair of Chapman T-7s and a pair of Chapman 250s. Sadly, the founder, Stuart Chapman Jones passed away last year.
Because it’s the ONW and everything is beautifully green last week it was sunny at 70. Today is sunny and 60. You just never know. I see it’s snowing in Minneapolis so I’ll take the soft cloudy sties.
Nice vid and record finds. The Sugarloaf album is pretty good with lead member & songwriter Jerry Corbetta went on to play with The Four Seasons Band for a few years. Jerry has since passed away in 2016. The Johnny Rivers album Realization is a fantastic album, really great listening. As far as I’m concerned it’s up there with some of the great albums of the 1960’s, but rarely talked about. Oh and by the way Johnny Rivers is much more than Poor Side of Town (which is great) and Secret Agent Man.
Good video, never knew that Vashon had a record store, I'll need to check it out. A previous job I had used to take me to Vashon once a week. Realization is such a good album, took me years to find a really clean copy. Lyric mistake on the song "Summer Rain" do you know what it is?
It's as if someone took over Quint's fishing joint off the pier on Amity & converted it to a record shack. I can find it for 40 - - but I'll clean it, & I'll grade it, for 100. For that you get the original disc, the accessory poster, the whole damn thing.
It's owned by the lead singer of The Fray, Issac Slade!!
‘Those are big!’ 😂. Wasn’t sure what you were referring to. Nice Marty Stuart pick up and the West Coast Pop album is awesome….great find.

Love your travel videos Mazzy. Vashon island looks a nice place.

Very eclectic wall in that record store, love it :)

Hey Mazzy. I used to pick strawberries on Vashon as a summer job when I was a kid, 50 cents a flat. Nice work if you can get it.

The Neil Young poster behind the counter is 🔥🔥. Love to see these new stores popping up!!
Great video Mazzy. I really enjoy these.
Hello! What is the address? Can’t find it anywhere :(
This shop seems to have no online presence at all! I'd like to visit sometime if I knew when they are open.
Nice!
Looked like a decent copy of Eddie Harris’ Is It In? Great cover. Nice excursion!
Nice Barbour
Mazzy, why is it always so cloudy and rainy out there? The Sugarloaf album stinks except for the long version of Green Eyed Lady. ✌️

Nice!
Cool trip. Good to know that store is there. That Vox amp in the window is a pretty sweet Cambridge model.
Post Side of Town. Awesome Stuff!!!
Poor Side of Town. It escaped me in the moment ✌🏼

Where is Vashon Island?
20 minutes by Ferry from West Seattle.
Nice video Mazzy, very cool. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Better than Newport's Fashion Island!
Great find on the Lipscomb.

Visited vashon island while visiting my son n Tacoma. Now here is a record store I need to go back
I love that Johnny Rivers record and nice inclusion of Cripple Creek ferry at the end mazzy
Great score with the Lipscomb album. ✌️
Envious, Mazzy. Deeply cool place.
Northwest is the best.
She's got good taste as they say!
What a cute little shop!
So if a collection came over on the ferry, is it imported?
I will show myself out now.
Maybe. I didn’t have to pay import duties.
Looks like a nice little shop. 😊
And it's owned by isaac slade, former lead singer of the fray
Just noting ✅️ that the young lady working at the store is very attractive 😊 ! 👍
That's pretty gross of you.
Any time I find a record shop I go in.
Duh 😵💫🤠😎✌🏼
Cool video, Mazzy. Visiting record shops when you’re travelling is one of life’s great pleasures.
Couldn't agree more✌🏼
And Vashon is a 20 minute drive plus a twenty minute Ferry ride. So close.
