Dump Trailer Side Hustle - Badland 3500 Install

- In the dump trailer nation we get into all sorts of things and I’ve got a haul coming up that I decided it would be really handy to have a winch. I settled on the Badland 3500 ZXR. It has a couple features I like above the Badland 2500. The obvious one an extra 1,000 lb of pulling power. It uses a 4 bolt mounting base instead of 2. Comes spooled with a 3/16 wire rope. The hook is a little bigger and it’s not permanently attached like on the 2500. Lastly it has rods across the top of the spool which add a little rigidity and prevent the rope from getting tangled around the winch body should it get slack.
In this video I go over the way I chose to mount the winch in my US Built 7 x 14 dump trailer using a standard bolt on receiver hitch and an Extreme Max receiver winch mount. When looking for mounting ideas I hadn’t seen any setups quite like what I can up with.
I have a 2500 mounted on the top of headboard in my dump truck. I just set up a ammo box including a small battery. I was also thinking of putting on magnets. The wireless is a must have in my opinion.
Wireless is definitely the way to go.
I wood not have my badland zxr 3500 pound winch siting on the floor of a trailer I wood take a upside down drop trailer hitch and weld the winch plate on the upside down trailer hitch so the winch will be up hire when pulling
Would and higher is the correct way. Also use a period when you end your sentence!
I just bought the same 3500lb badlands winch mine has a wirer that runs to the ignition on a 4 wheeler but I’m not using on ATV I’m mounting mine to trailer to pull cars on do you have any ideal what I do with that cable? Also the Cilla Neutra box has three screws three wires go to that the middle screw is for a white wire but my white wire end is too big just fits right over top of the screw won’t screw down do you have any idea how I could fix it
The white wire is the ground. It needs to be secured to the frame of the trailer.

It’s holding up great! For some things it would be nice to have it higher off the floor. So far it does it’s intended job very well
@@liers99 thanks! Yeah I was concerned about it being close to the ground but better than nothing! I was thinking of switching out the line for one of the ropes so it doesn't rip the trailer apart pulling over it. I'm also still undecided about going with the 3500 or the 5000
@@jonzajac9312 get the 5000 if you are between the 2. I would stay with the steel cable. I always raise the bed so the cable doesn’t drag the floor.
