Stunning, simply stunning! This is an amazing performance, they played so beautifully together. I have not heard this for years and I really enjoyed this performance. I'm sure I will listen again! :)
Her overly fast but rightly dramatic lead in to the slower played (here) passionate section adds to the emotional power, to me. She played the impressionist segment so sweetly that I wondered how strongly she could pound the keys when it's called for. Then her hair is flying back, then forward draping the keys, the score page is almost ripped off as she seems to demand More! of you know what; so I salute her choreography and expressionism too.
Beautiful rendition of Franck's Sonata's last movement, by Capuçon-Buniatishvili ... The video title is misleading, though, since the first three movements are missing, sadly I would say, from a piece that lasts for about 30 minutes :(
More piano volume, please. Yes, gorgeous sound from the duo, but to my ear the piano mic/track is understated/muddied and violin almost always dominates, as in the majority of recordings.
