I got the Helix and the Powercab about 6 months, but never invested much time to really to really master them. Thanks to this series of videos I'm really diving in and getting a much better understanding of how to best use it.
Jeremy. Your videos are a delight. Very concise, easy going and effective. Love the multiple screens and the way you guide through is excellente. Please keep them coming ! Cheers from Mexico
Thanks for the videos. All the ins and outs of the software and options seem overwhelming at first, but you manage to make it easy and simple to follow. Keep it up!
Stumbled on your channel. Got my Helix coming in a few days. So glad I found this channel, been watching ALL the videos on it. Love your series. *subscribed*
Hey thanks, this series has been so helpful, really appreciate the time you’ve taken putting this series together. It’s really got me started. You’ve made it a very useable tool. Still struggling with Sound spilling over when moving to a delay patch in snapshots, the same sound you get altering a delay with a signal passing through, but working on that. Thanks again 🥰
Keep going, Jeremy! Your videos are not only extremely instructive, but very entertaining. Thanks for all your efforts! I've only had my Helix (and PowerCab 112+) for a week or so, but you've helped make them feel like old friends. (I know the PowerCab is a different topic, but think I've seen one lurking in your studio... at the end of #6, I turned off the OwnHammer IR just to try the other speaker models in the PowerCab. I guess that's for another series, though... sorry if this is a distraction.) This is more fun than I've had in a while :)
I just got my 1st helix and have a question , i downloaded some ir s from own hammer and do i need to build a new preset to run them or can you add them to any preset if so do you take out cab setup thats in them now , i ordered some preset + ir packs also but still have these now without presets thank you for any help , great videos
There is to me a difference though when using the Master, Channel and Drive with a stock cab vs IR. They just interact differently, especially the master and drive. Stock cab seems to have more balance to it than the fixed sound of the IR. Great video series.
Thanks for checking the vid out! Yeah I go between favoring the stock cabs and sometimes IR’s. Can’t really go wrong either way. I’ve stood firm on stock cabs for over a year! Lol!
Hey man, great video. Just picked up an HX stomp and new to all this cab and IR stuff. So are the cabs and IRs just for connecting direct to an interface? Do you need to add them if you are hooking up to a tube amp and 4x12 cab?
Yeah you only need IR's or Cabs if you are running either FRFR or Direct/recording. If you are using a 212 or 412 cab then bypass them or don't even add them into your patch.
I see a PowerCab down on the floor - is that what you're using to listen to in your room? To get the "amp in the room" feel? If so, presumably you're using it in FRFR mode? How do you like it?
Yeah, PowerCab+. I use it for daily playing but for recording I listen back through my Yamaha HS8's. I LOVE the PC+ but no, I do not use it in FRFR mode generally. I use the PC+ cab sims. Usually the GB, V30 or Creamback.
Have you tried the Helix through the Fryette PS into a real cab? I saw your vid with the BE-OD into that Marshall cab, sounded killer. Wondering how the Helix fairs with the PS in your opinion? Thanks.
Sort of... Going from the Helix, into my Focusrite Clarett 8Pre via SPDIF. The HS8's are connected to the Clarett. I am not using the Helix as my interface.
Great video and really helped me! One quick question: What stand do you use for your Helix? I love how it is angled behind you and I’ve been looking for something exactly like it. Thanks!
Hey there! I run through Yamah HS8's in my home studio and gig with either the PowerCab+ or Quilter OD200 and 212 cab depending on the gig. Sometimes just Helix to FOH.
The part that kills me is I copy what you're doing to the exact setting and it sounds nothing like your sound. I have high end guitars with good humbuckers so it shouldn't be THAT far off. Good series anyways, thanks.

Hey Ron! So glad this series is helping. More episodes are filmed. Just need to get them edited.
Your videos are fantastic - this has saved me a shed load of time. Thanks bro.
Hey, thanks so much! Glad people still find these useful. Thanks for checking out the channel.
Thanks so much for this Helix Line-6 Series of videos, it made learning this machine so much easier and fun, YOU ROCK Bro!

This is the video I was looking for! Thank You!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful!

Hey thanks! There is a setting under Globals that should solve your delay issue. Let me look back at it when I have a sec and I'll follow up.
Keep em coming... enjoying the videos, studying up for when my Helix gets here later this week.
Cheers on the incoming Helix! More vids coming for sure!
Best series on youtube for newbies!! well done, my man!!

Really cool man. I like your approach.!

Hi Jeremy, do you always use IR s ? or you use stock cabs sometimes ?? I bought all kinds of IR packs from Ownhammer

JEREMY!! Is #6 the end? Dude, say it ain't so?!? Would love to hear more from you on the Helix!!
No Sir! More vids coming asap! Thanks for checking the series out!
If you pair the 57 with a 121 from that free OH pack, you'll have crazy good tone... I use those with the angle meteor in my set up.

You use PC+ with cab sims without IRs? I have PC+ and in my opinion IR's are only the good choice in FRFR mode, what's your opinion? @@JeremyVarao
Your patch sounds good
Hey thanks! Search JerEvil if you are on Custom Tone. Lots of patches uploaded there.
Hey great demo! Do they still make this guitar? Thanks...
I just picked up the helix rack, I noticed a 60’s cycle hum, any tips to keep it silent?
Have you tried the Helix through the Fryette PS into a real cab? I saw your vid with the BE-OD into that Marshall cab, sounded killer. Wondering how the Helix fairs with the PS in your opinion? Thanks.
You know I haven't but I have used it through the power section of my BE-100 and it was glorious!
I did use to power my Kemper with the Power Station and it was awesome!
Where did you get the stand for your Helix?
Great series!
Very informative video. Are you going straight from the Helix into the HS8's
Sort of... Going from the Helix, into my Focusrite Clarett 8Pre via SPDIF. The HS8's are connected to the Clarett. I am not using the Helix as my interface.

Very insightful. Just maybe can you watch the level matching of your vocal to your guitar. Blow my headphones out!😂
great demo/tutorial series on the many uses of these! Out of curiosity, what speaker do you run yours through?
Hey there! I run through Yamah HS8's in my home studio and gig with either the PowerCab+ or Quilter OD200 and 212 cab depending on the gig. Sometimes just Helix to FOH.
Nice video bro
Nice job
Thanks my friend! Appreciate you continuing to check these out!
Awsome on the split cabs...Jeremy where did you get the stand for the Helix?
Hi Jeremy,
Loving this idiot's guide to the Helix, thanks dude.
I'm struggling to find parts 7&8, do they exist yet buddy?
Not the Joe Manganiello
The idiots guide to impulse responses still didn't tell me what an impulse response is lol
Where can find free IRS
Great player🎸🖐🏼
Where is 7?!?!
Doing 6.5 first as someone asked for more clarity on IR vs Stock Cab but 7 will drop the same day. HOPEFULLY this weekend (4/7/19)

you should be way up on the line 6 payroll... because more of us have learned more from watching and listening to you.
