Kudos. Also once again on This Morning spoke about the 22bn black hole again. This is getting really tired. Thought that was a fairytale that she keeps shoving in our face😱
Nobody is going to invest into this country that bleeds money and choke with taxes 😂 anyone with money have already left. Working people will be bled and bled.
What is the point even if it was built it won't be ready until 2040. Then labour won't be in power to sort the mess out. Just get those idiots out of power.
1.5 million houses - how much of our countryside, food production land and habitat to be concreted over by major corporations (how much do they give to Labour in donations?) with their poorly built, ticky tacky houses? What grade agricultural land will be built on? How much will Labour's huge building programme add to our carbon emissions, how much harder will all this building make it to achieve your (farcical) Zero carbon pledge, Will we be able to produce enough energy to power all these houses, how much more food will we have to import, what water attenuation issues will it cause, how many more land fills and reservoirs will we need, how much pressure on local infrastructure, how much more light pollution etc. etc.? Our countryside is being sacrificed
30 million houses in the UK and only around 10% of the country is built on. I'm sure we can comfortably manage another 2 million houses taking us up to 12-15%
@happyjonn9242 Complete red herring. England, where the majority of people live, is the most densely populated country in Europe. I am for building, but it's clear to make the distinction.
There is clearly a very strong economic argument to be made that Heathrow DOES need a third runway. Rachel Reeves did a very good job of explaining why.
She should have announced this in parliament first. Key areas such as her supply-side proposal and strategy need to be scrutinised by her elected peers. She hasn't addressed inequality both geographical and sociatal which should be a key part of Labour's mission. She needs to be much clearer about what growth is and indeed what it isn't. The Tories own claims about growth when they were in governemtn was underpinned by proffiteering which takes money out of the economy and stiffles growth. She must be clear about the fundemental differences between the Tories and labour of how how growth is defined, and other version of growth eg. zero0-growth economics favoured by many left-liberals. Her investment proposals must not simply deliver profits into private hands - she must be clear and unambigous why she thinks government cannot provide investment. Is this a politcal choice, given that many economists wouldn't necessarily agree?
They don't seem to be clear with how the various fundamentals of the UK economy come together. Shown to have a poor grasp of the UK economy. They don't seem to know the priorities or the order in which to address the string of issues with the UK economy. It takes expert dedication to tackle these questions, rather than for some fashionable new-comer to enter the game looking for easy quick fixes in search of credit. The economic models of previous governments would still have been a sound platform on which to build upon if all they're looking for is quick fixes. Let's be honest here, they're not really interested in economic reform. Because that's what it would take if they're asking the big questions, economic reform. It's all a show.
Makes me sick! Totally clueless….. economic growth by hammering business and bigger handouts to her union paymasters and freeloaders. Recession incoming!
Never mind the economics. Rachel Reeves needs to take Physical Geography 101 and Business Studies 101. She's steaming along in the old crude, statist, dirigiste Labour manner, promoting large projects focussed mainly on the Southeast, with not a thought to how the UK will change over the next couple of decades as climate change speeds up and becomes harder and harder to adapt to. Some basic facts: - Net Zero saves companies money, because renewables are becoming cheaper than fossil fuels almost everywhere in the world. Recycling of materials and sustainable policies also benefit companies' bottom line.. - The UK is spinning off start-ups at a faster rate than any other country apart from the USA. Small, innovative companies can create jobs much faster than large companies and pose far fewer location and planning problems, but there is currently a major financial blockage at the modest level of investment they require to become profitable. - Sustainable air travel is still quite a long way away, despite the best efforts of Airbus, Rolls Royce, etc. - Financial deregulation will just lay the groundwork for another financial crisis. - Rewilding and environmental improvements in Scotland have been shown to create more jobs and generate more tourism income. - Improved trading relations with Europe would solve many of the Chancellor's problems. In short, Rachel Reeves is a narrow-minded, ill-informed, uninspiring, unimaginative and not very bright woman who is working hard to disguise her inadequacy and panic. These policies will lose Labour a lot of votes, especially to the Lib Dems, the Greens and the Nationalist parties. What I find particularly contemptible is the way the Cabinet is briefing against Ed Miliband.
Wouldn’t it just be cheaper to give each British citizen over 18 £1M ??? That’s only 68m quid. Crime would be non existent. Private healthcare booming so NHS use well down. Higher rates of taxes. Luxury goods and housing booming. Private investment and pension trades booming. Leisure and tourism booming. Vat could be risen to 30%. Probably be richer than Norway overnight 🤷🏼♂️
We need a smaller central government, fewer Lords, stronger local county councils, with independent budgets to make local decisions. Or we are headed to the hunger games.
There are many areas she could of gone rather than Employer n.i. The tories cut emploee n.i before the by 4p. She could of put 2 or 3p back on. She could of ended the stupid freeze in fuel duty rather than hiking bus fares. The list is endless. Employer n.i was the qrong tax to raise.
The chinise visit on own doesn't raise that much money. But the list bellow is worth billions to the uk economy extra 100 billion of public investment into infrastructure, the 65 billion of investment by the private sector at the investment summit. The new factories creating electronic car batteries and wind turbines, the 29 billion private investment into carbon capture and storage, GB energy and the national wealth fund, Heathrows third runway, deregulation of planning laws so more can be built.
What about compensation for covid injection disability etc and the other problems it's caused. Well 'WHO ' 🤔®️ going to pay dla or settlements. Pun intended
"Ordinary working people" It's demeaning to keep hearing that.
Liebour can't define what a working person is, so her statement of "ordinary working people" is a farse.
Kudos. Also once again on This Morning spoke about the 22bn black hole again. This is getting really tired. Thought that was a fairytale that she keeps shoving in our face😱
Apart from the smirk that always on her face. Haven't they all forgotten about the pensioners struggle extremely quickly. 😮
Always reminds me of a ventriloquist dummy
I got 12 minutes in and thought I want to live where she does as it’s dream land….
The country is f ked
Why would anyone want to invest in the UK?
Politicians ruined the uk.
The most pathetic Chancellor the UK has ever had. Her budget is a disgrace.
Nobody is going to invest into this country that bleeds money and choke with taxes 😂 anyone with money have already left. Working people will be bled and bled.
I thought the same, why can't she understand this?
Nobody has faith in Liebour she talks rot
What is the point even if it was built it won't be ready until 2040. Then labour won't be in power to sort the mess out. Just get those idiots out of power.
Yeah. What's the point. Let's not do anything. Like the last lot.

@@CrocodileJock She's PANICKING.... She's realised that she's tanked the economy.
A third runway at Heathrow airport is her answer to the economy so just wasting tax money again then. Heathrow doesn't need a third runway

@CrocodileJock when is completion date 2050 China turned there country from third world yo global leader in 25 years

Utter desperation
She’s actually calling her own government ridiculous!
Reforming skills framework starts with the education system. Does the 2024 syllabus taught in schools reflect the skills needed?
Someone please remind them that elections are already over and stop giving campaign speeches.
No, they should give three word meaningless sound bites over and over like the Tories do, treating us all like we are 10 year olds.
I like to know what they are planning, and the details to it. I dont want them to just shout shout shout and show no plan
