Buy the Neumi BS5P: bit.ly/NeumiBS5P Previous versions of the Neumi BS5P are on sale on Amazon, but you will need to flash them yourself. Only works on PC. Future versions will ship with the correct EQ settings and will return to normal price. Link to update the firmware: neumitech.com/faq/how-to-update-neumi-bs5p-firmware/ Correction. I placed these in the best under $100 category and they are supposed to be in the best under $200. This is straight up one of the best reviews I’ve seen. I laughed a lot but was also informed. This is how reviews should be done. “AD… FU” Oh, thanks for the assist. Here goes the dunk: “That’s what she said!!!”
Very impressive for the price! Also, super cool that you can update the firmware for different curves. Wish more manufacturers would offer that. That makeshift Klippel is some serious stuff!
I clicked on this because of the title "plug the ports" as it has improved the sound of most speakers for me and the best subs I have ever heard were un ported ones. Ports are just flubber holes for suckers who don't know any better, which is nearly everybody.
Hey do you like anything else in this size 11" tall/5" woofer for 250$ or less (powered)? I'm looking at the Fluance Ai41's at 250$ but wondering if these can keep up or if there anything else powered that's a nice step up from the Neumi's.
I’m running two C-Notes powered by an SMSL SA300, and a Mirage Omni S8 for a sub. What are your thoughts on replacing my setup with this, and using the output for the sub input?
I made the C-Notes when they first came out. I didn't love their sound for some reason. I didn't measure them but I remember liking the Overnight Sensation build better. They had some character. I think overall, your build with the C-Notes and SA300 + sub would be superior to these. I like these for a simple system in an extra room though.
@@joentell I looked at both before I chose these. The C-Note build had a lower f3, and a slightly higher SPL. I was impressed enough to get another set, and a center channel MTM, and ran a 5.2 setup. I’ve since downsized, and now just running a pair. Thanks for the input, Del
What does stuffing the ports actually do to the sound? I tried to stuff my Eris 3.5s with socks and can only notice the bass gets lowered if I stand behind the speakers. Is this really beneficial someway, because to me it sounds better without stuffing the ports.
I have the passive models and while they have merit, they are just too warm for me. The midrange is way too rolled back; when I compare them to other speakers I have from similar price points they just sound dull and lifeless.
I think it depends on how close you have them to the walls. I have them on the floor in my kids room and that have WAY too much bass. I think a lot depends on placement of these.
Heh. The whole ending is my life these days. Time to fire up the projector and get into something good? Oh wait, here comes the little dude. Time to watch something on youtube kids on a 120" screen. Lol!

Yes.. Having fun and still giving some worthwhile info on the product.
LOL I love the title! Plug the ports!!

Man I really like that ranking list you made.
My boy Joe looking good in that gray shirt!! You been doing virtual workouts with Life of Bliss 💪💪💪🤔?
I wish. I'm in my bulking phase. 🤣
@@joentell You are too hard on yourself. Take care brother. Much love for you.
@joentell Could you suggest a good power amplifier (small size) for my desktop for the BS-5?

Joe, is the Pioneer FS52 still relevant after all these years? Is it still the best budget speaker (below 200) in your opinion?
I think they would be good choice in the other rooms ,wondering if it could replace sound bars 🧐.
I would rather use these thanmost sound bars I've tested previously. The Sonos ones were good though.
I would love to see you review and place on the leaderboard some DALI and Aperion speakers.
I reached out to Dali many times. I've given up at this point.
If you are going powered near fields, is the JBL 305 mk II too pedestrian? I see a LOT of them around.
Nothing wrong with those. They're very good for the price. I don't love the amp hiss.
UMIK 1 and a step stool is just as good as a Klippel🤣😅😂

@@dalesmth1 I'm sure the C-Notes are technically superior. The OS just look cool imo.
Anyone know where I can find a reasonable product to plug the ports without looking tacky
Edifier S2000mkIII?
I think I prefer a slanting downward response. I'm definitely not a fan of v curve response.
I like a downard slant to my in-room measurement in my listening position.
*Hiss* “The measurements…. It burns us!” - Some reviewers probably

Neumi bs5 or Micca rb42 for desktop setup?
I like bass, so I'm going RB42 personally. With a sub either would be good.
@@joentell Awesome, thank you!
I am working with limited space, so size of rb42 is a plus too!

A D Fu = GIggity for 150 buck and it beat the bose 301 nice
1:36 to 1:38 lol
VMware Fusion sir
The issue is that a VM doesn't make the right connections via USB. Also M1 Mac isn't compatible with all virtual machine software.
@@joentell it get soo complicated lol
