FYI: We call Crevalle Jack; jetty tunas. It has been a long standing nickname, especially on the forum 2coolFishing. Back in the day people would land these and call them yellow fin tuna. They would go and post on 2coolFishing and get roasted lol.

The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight ruclips.net/user/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

I remember years ago a school of Mackerel Trevalla visited Port Adelaide and people lined up all over the wharves catching these larger fish. Very similar experience. RUclips wasn't around then! Thanks for sharing it was awesome to watch!
I suppose it depends. A spinning reel is wound with your left hand and cast with your right if you are righty.

I gettty fish a few times a year and this is awesome... had a run of blues once and caught half a dozen, but there were only three of us;.strangers. Once in North Carolina I took part with 50 people in a Spanish Mackeral and Blues blitz that was spectacular. I caught and 6 Spanish and 3 or 4 blues... treble hooks slinging everywhere, lines crossing... that pier in Emerald Isle, NC got blown away, literally, by hurricanes Bertha and Fran in 1996.

Love the idea of a big baitcaster. I'd perfer that to a proper overhead reel as I'm not experienced eouugh to feed the line back on properly myself. I'm still a beginner, but I'm learning so much from videos like this.

This brought to mind my life in South Africa. The "Sardine" run, actually Pilchards, along the South African Eastern seaboard. It is every bit as frenetic. Immense shoals ( tens of miles long) come up the east Coast from Cape town to St Lucia. Accompanied of course by every sort of game fish which occurs there, along with Mr. Jaws in plentiful supply. Not unusual to find a small bay crammed with several hundred fishermen all with a line in the water and most with a fish on.
