When I first heard this song, playing on the new stage modeled after Hong Kong, I had chills through the match ,and this *feeling* I hadnt had since like, Splat1. Idk how to describe it other than I felt so alive, and finally felt like I was enjoying this game. It sounds like 2,000s alternative rock and I’m fkn obsessed with this band, especially this song. Some parts of this, I swear came out of an early 2000s switchfoot album. Others remind me of Monkeyball 2 and the iPup (does anyone remember those????) Sorry for being a boomer but the guitarist, and especially bassist, are so good in, just, a way you don’t really hear anymore. If you pay close attention to just the bassist you can hear them pull of lots of higher skill stuff. And I’m obsessed with it. (This is is the kind of highlights bass players deserve but never get, instead of the same five notes over and over meant to like, accommodate all the other instruments that just have no flavor.) Sorry for the rant, probably only a couple other people feel this way, but damn. I pray Nintendo gives us more music like this; I’m really over the repetitive, kind of abrasive heavy rock/metal the game started with in order to fit the “chaos” theme.

I'm pretty sure those are their species names, actually! "Okutopasutako" is just "octopus octopus" and "Nagarenahasango" is the Japanese name of the anchor coral (at least according to the translation on Inkipedia; I know for a fact sango means coral but I couldn't tell you what the actual species was on my own). Plus I don't think their names would be that long or direct-sounding canonically!

Why can’t Nintendo bring back old bands? They brought back Chirpy Chirps in Splatoon 2. But this bands people look very cool. They look very stylish but I’m gonna say Yoko and the Gold Bazookas are better and have catchier songs. Have more songs for the new bands instead of like 2-3 songs.
