I’m actually tired of people saying this won’t open or will be the next TT2. It’s made by Intamin and the new Intamin LSM coasters are very reliable. Being one of the best manufacturers who have taken on record breaking projects before, they will have designed many features to counter the issues with a coaster of this size in this location. I reckon this coaster will suffer from low ridership more than anything
For the low ridership part, I think if their plans for the development of the surrounding areas come to light, this may not be too much of an issue. Six Flags Qiddya is just one part of Saudi Arabia's huge tourism project. I believe that, when finished, this could rival Dubai in terms of popularity. We'll have to wait and see though.
I'm shocked that anyone thinks this WON'T have major teething issues, as all first generation Intamin prototype type rides go. This ride dwarfs anything built before it, including any giga or strata.
I think it's going to work. Intamin already knows the launches and track layout will work. If anything unfavorable develops it's likely to be extra maintenance and the park will pay it. Money isn't a problem over there. Also agree on ridership. It seems like all their parks are under-used out there. Just not a thing they do too much yet I guess. Of course we're all going to go though!
@@thefergyfilms obviously it will have many teething issues, but many people believe it will never open at all or have more downtime than operating life, which is just not true

One thing that has really surprised me, now that the six flags website for this park is live, is that the GCI has a max height of 190cm (I am 193). I've never known of any GCI or wooden thrill coaster in general to have this restriction before, and I just have to wonder why and hope it's not something that will become the norm with GCI's new coasters. Luckily I can ride everything else there but I am still bummed when I go mid next year (if the park is open) that I won't be able to experience the wooden coaster. Oh well.

I'll say never. One, U.S. and other current coaster countries don't have the space or money for something this crazy. Two, the Middle East's oil supply will start to dwindle and their appetite for projects like this will evaporate. Three, it's not likely to set huge attendance numbers because locals don't seem to care and it will be hard for us to get there. The low numbers will stop anyone from trying to one up. @@Cyco-Dude Fairly certain it would have wheel coolers, but I can imagine the replacements will still be pretty frequent. Either way, looking forward to seeing how they do it
5:30 They should have made give some mild ejector at the advertised 155mph, because it probably will run under that most of the time and then will give floater, unlike Goliath at MM or similar coasters that don't float when running slow. I don't think any park could justify a purchase like this in the us. Not only the initial cost but the insane maintenance this thing will require. That's why kingda ka is possibly closing. Also I think the wind will be a major issue with a coaster this large.
The engineering on this thing is insane. But it does have windshields so high speeds shouldn't be an issue. Also, the launch is while going down the hill which would minimize g forces. I would expect it to be a very smooth ride and probably a ton of fun. The only concern I would have is the roll back on that huge hill. Not sure 250km/h will clear that. Kingda Ka needs 210km/h to clear 418 feet. 250km/h to clear 500+ feet doesn't seem like it'll clear it all the time. Might be looking at rollbacks. The bigger issue will be the wheels over time and wear and tear. It'll open, and then we'll see how many issues it has. For me it would be wheels, then speed to clear the hill. I don't think G forces will be an issue as Intamin has high speed coasters out there already and is well versed in them. Would love to ride this thing if it works out.

Dollywood has mountains near it but I think they don’t have enough space. Maybe build a coaster that drops down over the side of the south rim of the Grand Canyon or build a new single ride coaster park in the mountains of Tennessee, or north Arizona with an 800 ft high roller coaster that goes 210 mph with each car on the train looking like an f-18 hornet and call it top gun maverick- just imagining it, that’s all.

Unless this park is included on the new Cedar Fair / Six Flags season passes, I doubt I’ll ever head out there. Just to go to that terrible country is WAY too expensive, it’s still a dry country , and there’s literally nothing else to do while over there. Looks really cool as a coaster, but I doubt the park will ever be worth it to visit.

Disney's cancelled plans for Westcot is in Riyadh as Blvd. World, for starters.
And make each train car have a canopy like that of an f-18 super hornet fighter jet
