    I’m actually tired of people saying this won’t open or will be the next TT2. It’s made by Intamin and the new Intamin LSM coasters are very reliable. Being one of the best manufacturers who have taken on record breaking projects before, they will have designed many features to counter the issues with a coaster of this size in this location. I reckon this coaster will suffer from low ridership more than anything

    • @anobject9622
      @anobject9622 Месяц назад +4

      For the low ridership part, I think if their plans for the development of the surrounding areas come to light, this may not be too much of an issue. Six Flags Qiddya is just one part of Saudi Arabia's huge tourism project. I believe that, when finished, this could rival Dubai in terms of popularity. We'll have to wait and see though.

      I'm shocked that anyone thinks this WON'T have major teething issues, as all first generation Intamin prototype type rides go. This ride dwarfs anything built before it, including any giga or strata.

    • @bearclaw5115
      @bearclaw5115 Месяц назад +2

      I think it's going to work. Intamin already knows the launches and track layout will work. If anything unfavorable develops it's likely to be extra maintenance and the park will pay it. Money isn't a problem over there. Also agree on ridership. It seems like all their parks are under-used out there. Just not a thing they do too much yet I guess. Of course we're all going to go though!

    One thing that has really surprised me, now that the six flags website for this park is live, is that the GCI has a max height of 190cm (I am 193). I've never known of any GCI or wooden thrill coaster in general to have this restriction before, and I just have to wonder why and hope it's not something that will become the norm with GCI's new coasters. BTW the wooden coaster is called Colossus. Luckily I can ride everything else there but I am still bummed when I go mid next year (if the park is open) that I won't be able to experience the wooden coaster. Oh well.

      Two, the Middle East's oil supply will start to dwindle and their appetite for projects like this will evaporate.
      Three, it's not likely to set huge attendance numbers because locals don't seem to care and it will be hard for us to get there. The low numbers will stop anyone from trying to one up.

    The engineering on this thing is insane. But it does have windshields so high speeds shouldn't be an issue. Also, the launch is while going down the hill which would minimize g forces. I would expect it to be a very smooth ride and probably a ton of fun. The only concern I would have is the roll back on that huge hill. Not sure 250km/h will clear that. Kingda Ka needs 210km/h to clear 418 feet. 250km/h to clear 500+ feet doesn't seem like it'll clear it all the time. Might be looking at rollbacks. The bigger issue will be the wheels over time and wear and tear. It'll open, and then we'll see how many issues it has. For me it would be wheels, then speed to clear the hill. I don't think G forces will be an issue as Intamin has high speed coasters out there already and is well versed in them. Would love to ride this thing if it works out.

    • @bearclaw5115
      @bearclaw5115 Месяц назад +1

      Nope.
      I bet the legacy of this coaster is to END the coaster wars.
      It has upped the price of admission so HIGH that no one can touch it. I think that is the point and they are willing and able to lose money to do it.
      Everyone else that has to make the numbers work is going to realize they need to get creative. Tallest and fastest won't be the standard anymore.
      When you go high, you go fast. When you go fast you need lots of space. When you crank lot's of g's at high speed, you burn up parts and maintenance budgets.
      And most theme parks are closer. They don't need to break 600ft to get you to buy a ticket.

    If an American park beats it, it will be a park in the mountains. I don't see Dollywood or Silver Dollar city pushing for this kind of record. I think these records are just too crazy for anyone to try and top, but if it brings people from all around the world and is a huge success for Qiddiya who knows. The other possibility is it operates for a week and never runs again. Not saying Intimin cant achieve this, but it might not be feasible to maintain. I definitely want to ride it but not sure I will make it there till after I retire but who knows

    Considering how far along this project is, I guess I shouldn’t be too concerned about how this will affect riders. It does interest me how this park is going to fit into the new combined Six Flags chain, and how well it’ll be managed and maintained.

      @DanielBlaney Месяц назад +1

      Six flags only manages the park and handles branding. The park itself is owned by the Saudi Crown Prince's investment fund.

    Dollywood has mountains near it but I think they don’t have enough space. Maybe build a coaster that drops down over the side of the south rim of the Grand Canyon or build a new single ride coaster park in the mountains of Tennessee, or north Arizona with an 800 ft high roller coaster that goes 210 mph with each car on the train looking like an f-18 hornet and call it top gun maverick- just imagining it, that’s all.

      Yeah, it's not like we went to the Moon or anything.
      We didn't invent nearly every technology that makes up the modern world either.
      We had nearly all the coaster records too but that doesn't count.
      O.K. I'll tell you are kind of right.
      U.S. coasters have to make a profit. Falcon's Flight is probably going to do nothing but lose money it's whole life. In America that can't happen. So in a way you're right America is not willing to lose money to top this coaster.

      @@bearclaw5115 Actually, America lost all phases of the space race besides putting a man on the moon. America has the lowest education among developed countries, and most violence.
      But I'm sure you already knew that, right? Kamala voter.

    To those who predict a colossal lawn ornament...
    Please understand that this doesn't have any of the more problematic elements like a hydraulic launch or Zamperla's involvement.
    While the environment provides some unknowns, I'm certain the coaster will adapt to it.

    Unless this park is included on the new Cedar Fair / Six Flags season passes, I doubt I’ll ever head out there. Just to go to that terrible country is WAY too expensive, it’s still a dry country , and there’s literally nothing else to do while over there. Looks really cool as a coaster, but I doubt the park will ever be worth it to visit.
