Broke the same bit on my KTM exc 300 TPI, though the other end where the plastic piece goes into the fuel line from the tank, unable to even work around with cable ties, made a long and slow recovery process. Its a really poor design for such a both vulnerable and critical piece. This metal one looks WAY better, thanks for sharing.
Yeah good point, not sure if the fuel will come out through the fuel pump though even with the connector off the hose the fuel wasn't coming out of the tank. Maybe it just needed a bit of sucky sucky to get moving 🤷♂️
@@duncharvst just press many times briefly the start button and fuel will come out but it will take time. Also you could use it to clean your injector on the trail if needed by inserting the injector backwards (with an extra clamp) and again running your pump with the start button/key. Love the channel! ruclips.net/video/Iv7V24w9ktY/видео.html
TACO motor do a kit that has a connector that runs to where your fuel pump connects to tank and then alligator clips that go to battery and a hose that connects to your fuel outlet on tank. Pump will run continually when connected and no need to keep pressing starter.
The Canadian Dollar is usually on-par with Australia, try shopping on a Canadian Site and see if you can get it cheaper? or I can try and find out next time, I will give u the soupy socks discount ;)
I did the same with my 2020 500 and also replaced the tap coming out of tank which is cheap plastic as well. Cost a fortune from the states but piece of mind.
good fix but a golan or ziptye 10 micron filter could replace the whole connection just using hose clamps. then you can also throw the intank filter away and the little inline filter. they were a big issue on earlier ktm, berg and husky efi bikes.
Yeah I did spot those filters at some point and that's another good option. I wanted to keep the quick connect with the shut off valves tho they do make life a little easier 👍 Thanks for the input!
Sure you could do that, I guess I liked having it. Allows you to disconnect the tank without fuel going everywhere. Either way I sold this bike about 2 years ago 🤷♂
Hey bud i pretty much have the same bike as you. I just called that store in New York and they said to me the kit I have to get is a little different that yours. It’s the one with the 90 degree elbow part. Even though my original disconnect looks exactly as yours. Im confused.
What year is yours? They switched to the 90 degree one in 2017 I believe, but I think you can use either one they should both fit. I would go for the angled one, it tucks the whole hose out of the way more, you may just have to shorten the rubber hose a little or something I'm not sure. But yeah, either one will do the job.
Hey thanks for getting back. It’s a 2018 ktm 350 XC-F. Thanks for the advice. I needed to know if I could use one or the other. I didn’t want to buy the 90 elbow version because yours looks fine. But as long as I can buy either one or even use just the female part like you did then I’m happy with it. Thanks man
just took my tank off for the first time. pretty easy but connecting the quick connect was a bitch I thought. I wonder if they make a traditional petcock that has a shutoff valve that would fit. then just put an inline filter .
@@MVDBR no, ill try that next time. I saw your video after. Got a ride in today. Just a couple dirt roads. What a difference from the 640. No more vibrations coming through the pegs.
There making dirtbikes too reliable now... Gotta get money outta you somehow 😂 the petcock thing certainly seems to jut out a bit you'd think with a fuel pump they could just put it out of harms way, but I guess its about those sweet 💵💵 good tech tip bro 💯
Looks like they've updated them on later KTMs to come out of the tank on the side of the fitting instead which would be a lot better, wouldn't hang down as far 👍 But yeah they don't miss ya, KTM prices never fail to make my jaw drop hahaha
@@MVDBR mine says when I search up what size is the fuel line it says a 7/32 and I have a ktm 250 sxf and the only connect size I find is 1/4 and 3/16 and 5/16 what would fit best in your opinion
Mate I wouldn't want to try and guess I have no idea, be better off asking someone who knows about your particular bike. They're pretty expensive to buy so ya don't wanna be wasting money on the wrong one 😫
@@MVDBR yeah true i just don’t know who to ask because am trying to get the parts in by Friday to do some wheelie Practicing with my friend but my connect is leaking and might as well upgrade to a good one then keep the plastic one I just need a quick fix for a day and then research what size I need

Oh true I wondered if the TPI had something similar. Thanks for commenting 👌
Keep these cast coming. Your killing it
One of those spare tails and a bit of fuel line would make a good fuel transfer system in case someone runs out somewhere.

That's a pretty awesome little trick to know 😎✌️

*AWESOME* setup and find!!! KTM/Husky all the way love the bikes!!! Subscribed 👍
Cheers bro 🤘
Nice one. Applicable to many bikes also!
Yes very true although I don't know which ones so I didn't specify haha 😎 Cheers 👍
Handy stuff to know, thanks for posting the links 👍

Looks like a quality bit of kit mate.
Pirtek might have a brass fittle like that.
I like the idea of that setup, good bit of kit mae 🤙
Far out this is no cheap fix but looks stronger then the ome.
OEM plastic = $100, MXStore plastic = $30, full metal jacket permanent fix $85..... no brainer :)

Does the quick disconnect set up accept the stock fuel filter? Or would you need to retain half of the stock peice like you did in the video?
Nah, from memory the aftermarket one had a plastic one-way valve where the filter would go.
Thanks for the info
Thx for sharing bro nice bit of kit but aus dollar is crap atm 😩😩😩 rain isn,t it awesome from one extreme to anouther lol
Yeah see they have closed the state forests again now hahaha too wet this time, pricks 🤦♂️
getting mine right now
👍👍
Thanks for the video and saving my Assh cash!!!

Great video - what kind of grease or lube did you use on the o-ring? I have some maxima waterproof grease - will that be safe to use?
I would think so yeah, I normally use waterproof grease pretty sure Nulon is the brand I have 👍
Why you just removing quick connector and put filter in this place?
Huh
