Zacuto Z-drive and Tornado Grip Review

In this lightning gear review, we showcase Zacuto's Z-drive follow focus and their optional Tornado Grip.
Pros:
- Excellent manufacturing quality.
- The optional tornado grip is not just for handheld. We found its addition resulted in exceptionally smooth pulls in comparison to the base knob.
- White marking disk is even to write on with alcohol-based markers and cleaning was easy with lens wipes.
- No gear tooth jumps were noted during testing.
Cons:
- Double-check your base plate as this follow focus can become a bit front heavy when using a longer cine lens.
- I expect any standard consumer tripod would begin to wobble.
- We also observed that continuous turning did loosen our Manfrotto plates DESPITE being double secured. Having a dual 15mm rail attachment versus the single mount would've given me a bit more reassurance.
