    EXCELLENT REVIEW...thank you! I had to slog through 100 videos til yours! You actually DROVE the car and talked about the driving experience. Very useful to my car shopping. Down to this and the Bimmer X3....and the Edge Titanium fully loaded beats the BMW! Much better value, quieter, more powerful, much more tech.

    I really loved your review, not biased at all! Hopefully I'll get the 2017 version one day, as now I own the 2012 version still hehe

      Juliën Bernard I love the Edge, it was a great vehicle in 2012 as well. But Ford keeps making it better and better over time!

      Paul Stein I love the Platinum! It's the best looking Fusion ever. Wish it had the 2.7L twin turbo V6 like the Fusion Sport as an option, but the 2.0L 4-cyl ecoboost is still great. Agreed about Sync3. Best system on the market in my opinion apart from BMW's newest iDrive.

    I have the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport which also has the 2.7L twin turbo V6 EcoBoost and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. The car is extremely quick. Such a fun car to drive. I put nothing but Shell 93 octane in mine due to the HP and TQ ratings based off 93 octane fuel. If you're going to buy a car like the Edge sport or Fusion Sport, you might as well just put the 93 octane in it. It's funny, people that don't really know about the Sport pull up to me and want to race..boy are they surprised when I let it rip. Such a sleeper and a fun car to drive! Love the reviews!

    We thought we had narrowed down our search for an SUV to the Edge, though we've never had a Ford before (always GM). I liked the exterior looks, the interior looks, the engines, the features, on and on. So the questions was would I enjoy driving it, and went to a dealership to take a spin. I liked the feel of the seating, the power, the handling (electric steering felt a little "off" to me). But one thing was a deal-breaker for me - the primary forward driving view - the hood! To me its a hideous look with those two small raised "channels" up both sides. it literally looks like a piece of steel barn roofing slapped over the engine. I just couldn't stomach that look forward at the road. The hood is anything but pleasing to the eye and a complete deal breaker. That may sound ridiculous but I drive a lot in my occupation and the hood view is what you see all day, more than anything. Without sitting in one you really wouldn't notice the repulsive resemblance to steel roofing the hood has. Sounds a bit harsh I know but I was greatly disappointed by this when I test drove. Oh well - so I'm bounced back to the GM's I've always had (Acadia). One thing I like about Ford products is the circular wheel wells, GM tends to use a more squared look.

      PilotOp73 I get that, these vehicles aren't cheap so it's important to like everything about it - congrats on the Acadia. That's a great looking car. Much better looking than the Edge in my opinion. The Acadia vs the Explorer is a better matchup but in terms of looks I still think the Acadia wins. What draws me to Ford though is the performance orientation (with so many great engines to choose from) and the ride comfort. But I've also liked every GMC I've driven so I'd be pretty happy with the Acadia.

    I’m getting a 2017 titanium that I wanna build up to sport specs by putting turbos in it and resonator delete

      2 different v6s sport has 2.7 eco boost if you get a v6 titanium its going to be the 3.5 na. At which point you might as well spend the cash on a sport

      @@boisb4584 I'm aware of the 2.7's head gasket issues so i don't feel like dealing with them so i'd rather have the 3.5 since it's a better engine

    If you had to choose between a loaded edge Titanium with the 3.5 v6 and an edge sport with less features for around the same price.. Which would you go with? Is the 2.7l ecoboost that much better than the 3.5l v6?

    • @TheTestDrive
      @TheTestDrive  6 лет назад +2

      Mike Kar I would go with the Edge Sport with the 2.7L EcoBoost for sure. The 2.7L still comes standard with leather and Sync3. I would gladly give up features like blind spot monitoring, lane keeping, and self-parking to get all that extra power.

      The sport would mean giving up the moonroof, everything in the 401A package and also getting the worst possible color imo (silver).. But that twin turbo sounds like its worth it. It's the last sport available at the local dealer and they have it heavily discounted right now. Thanks for the quick reply!

    • @TheTestDrive
      @TheTestDrive  6 лет назад +2

      Mike Kar LOL - agreed about silver. If you're a performance guy like me (some would rather have all the features, where I only really need to have leather and navigation) then go for the Sport, even with less options, and sounds like it could be a very good deal. Good luck! 👍
