Same methods here. I've never had an issue with my seasoning. Proper seasoning means the fat becomes polymerized. This builds up over time. The cast-iron pans that my grandparents used had decades of built-up seasoning and it's at that point, the true benefit of cast iron is realized.
My mom wife picked up one of these brushes for like a buck at Dollar General.. best dollar I’ve ever spent. You can basically just abuse them and, well…who cares?? So yeah, me too.
Hello!!nice channel and i follow you! I bought four lodge pans different sizes..i made the seazoning in the oven with corn oil and i put in the oven 5 times for 1 hour as you said. The colour of the pans its not getting black but its bit black and brown gold.this brown its rust? I made the egg test With butter and the egg no stick at all but when i turn it have some black marks like paper what is this? Its dangerous? Can i have your mail to send some photos Thanks for the help
You should do more different things! idk, copper pan, other utensils etc... unless you want to stay in the youtubing passion, which is totally fine too :)
Yeah, it’s not a lot of grease. I would never dump oil or somethings I had used to deep fry. That would be way to much. Usually I wipe it away with a paper towel first but for the video, I left it to show how easy it was to clean. Good advise, thanks for watching.
The issue with soap for me is that the smell of the soap is absorbed by the seasoning. You can smell it on the pan afterward. And if smells are absorbed, tastes likely are too.
When I place the pan on the burner, that usually takes care of things for me. I’ve never had an issue with the taste or smell of soap in my pans. What kind of soap are you using? Is it Dawn or a variation of that.

100%. Most important thing is to use the pan and enjoy it
That’s what I’m preachin!! Great video bud!
True story. Great video.
Thanks for watching!
This is exactly what I've done and I thought I was holding a secret. It's not fragile and it's going to survive and still add seasoning
The cat is out of the bag lol

thats exactly how I feel about these brushes too 😂
AND if you did loose any seasoning it wasn't good seasoning to begin with. Survival of the fittest :D
Hahaha. Good point!

Thanks for watching
Sorry i don t have facebook or instagram!how we can do it?
What are your thoughts on chainmail?
Good stuff to keep around for sure
@tomwadek I meant, do you normally use it often and would it knock off seasoning or if it comes off it's just carbon build up.

I have a lot more coming. Different things. Hang tight.
@@tomwadek woohoo
The way you were washing over the middle of your sink gives me anxiety.
But good tips thanks
Are you rinsing the Grease down the pipes? That could bite you in the backside over time. I know the Dish Soap will help it disperse but not wise IMO.

@@tomwadek Yeah, it's Dawn. The Platinum kind that Costco has.
