This format seems to have so many bombs that are difficult to interact with. If you don’t have an answer within a turn or two you just auto-lose.
Sort of reminds me of crimson vow with less removal. Not quite as many game Enders, but there definitely are a few like that mythic green 7/7 choose two
Think it’s obvious this set was all about standard and they didn’t think well enough on limited. The limited experience is pretty hot garbage. Kenji will be playing other things with 30-45 days left on the format.

@@TheDisturbed0ne1 this is the first limited set I’ve disliked in quite a while. And while I think the limited is hot dog water. Standard has definitely got more fun. Haven’t seen a mono white weenie deck in 2 days! Lol
I disagree. Except for Ob, almost every other mythic in the set just feel so fair. And there's no real bomb rare in this format. I really don't get all the hate.

At 27:00 i think the slighty better play (but really marginal and didnt matter after all) would be to what you did, but with the scarab rather than the magician. You would end with the magician in hand rather than the scarab. Any double spell would still be possible but you would give yourself the option to make the token (and have a 2/2 rather than a 2/1)that could help push the last 2 points of damage.
That corpse explosion play was really cool!
God i love Night Clubber. Earlier today I cast it, killing a 3/1 and 4/1, then later that game I suicided it into their board of 5 X/1s, got them to blow a combat trick to save their blocker, and reanimated it to wrath them. I basically 8 for 2 'd them.
Did the same to an opponent on Friday who curved out with Goldhound > Sky Crier > Exhibition Magician > Plasma Jockey and honestly I'd have apologised if I did that to someone in person.
Blitz is still pretty new that people don’t pay attention and will trade with the creature even though it’s dying same turn too.
I've also caught myself playing a bit looser if I have a good deck, just relying on my card quality and expecting this to be enough, ending up with worse results ^^

so this happened to kenji too...I also had an insane riveteers midrange deck a few days ago. not quite as insane as this but it had a lot of the same stuff going on as this, except more treasure based. went 0-3, and im not that bad a magic player. Im starting to think riveteers are supposed to lean more aggressive than this midrange nonsense. Obscura and maestros have too many one and two card answers for a stack of 3-5 mana creatures. And this kind of deck runs out of gas so fast that, once your opponent stabilizes, you can't get board control back.
Decks like this might need to be running more cards like crew captain and more two drops...i mean its no sure strike, but daring escape i think plays really well with riveteer cards. so many of them have higher power than toughness and a lot of the way you lose steam is the opponent trading when you are trying to win before you run out of gas. I've had mild success with the card, way more than i thought i'd get.
Goldhound seems like good fixing when red is one of your main colors, and looks like it would work well with body dropper in a deck like this. Maybe not so great with only one body dropper, but I expect the two pair well.

What are the general opinion on this format so far? Everyone seems to hate it and I don't get why. If the theme doesn't suit you, then fine. But gamewise, the set looks really sweet so far.
what i gathered so far is that people think it plays mostly like a core set, where creature efficiency and solid 2 drops determines your outcome way more than any 'clever' or original deckbuilding, e.g. strixhaven (which has issues too). it also suffers a little bit in the balance department.
personally i'm fine with it, this is my first draft format since.. dragon's maze? so it's kinda perfect for getting right back into it, it barely took me any time to learn every card/combo.

That black flier is unplayable if you aren't already in black (or can move to being base black/X) because of the 3BB. Early picking a triome is pretty bad too unless you have the cards for it already so that makes sense. He probably wouldn't have taken it either except he already had three cards in those colors. The sweeper pass I think is the craziest thing that got passed, because sweepers are only rare+ (minus Night Clubber I think) and people often don't play around them for that reason.
fair enough, the only rare i keep seeing passed after pick 4 or so is the unplayable Cemetary Tapping enchantment

Feels like even though you had loads of good cards the deck ended up not being quite aggressive enough nor grindy enough. Think you played it well but it you couldn't quite finish the games early then ran out of steam.
Any chance you could edit in audio from Make Them Suffer's "Fake your own death", whenever you play Fake Your Own Death?

This happens to me everytime, the better i think my draft deck is, the worse I perform with it oftenly, and whenever i think my deck is shit, i get the 7 wins lol.
How do you separate your creatures and non creatures during deck building?
Type :creatures on the search bar.
I think this set is fun, however, there are too many good cards for limited.
You're normally hyper-aware - borderline psychic - about what's in your opponent's hand, but when your card quality is so high, you seem to be thinking more about your own plans ... Not sure if that was a factor here.
How did u change the view to create separate piles of creatures and noncreatures during deck building?
write t:cr in the search bar and press enter

t for "type" and cr for "creature"
you have to "raise" your deck with the arrow hiding the sideboard and then type "t:cre"

RGB just doesnt work IMHO, mr orfeo underperformed most of the time and shouldve give first strike or something. And it tends to lure us into the color.
Just pair U or W with your Orfeo and add some fliers then. It's Capenna man. You're supposed to play 4-color soup.
Yeah unfortunately I feel like this is kinda how it goes sometimes even if you have a very good deck. Too many unbeatable bombs in the format, takes the skill out of the games.

Only watched draft portion so far and Fake your own death seems mediocre here. Not many blitz creatures or ETB effects. I would have run broken wings over it.
2 magicians, 2 night clubbers, a jewel thief, a Thragtusk, an angel that you don’t want to lose, not to mention it’s just a good combat trick even without getting extra value.
@@ogolthorp, idk. I love the treasure deck but I wouldn’t want to use that to make a treasure. You have a point with the two five drops but that’s only two cards. If he left the two drops that make you discard I like it more, but agree they should’ve been cut.

@@KK-sg5gl it's not THE BEST with creatures that just give treasures, but magicians also make 1/1s and in a 3 color deck the effect of treasures shouldn't be underestimated.
