Thank you for playing our weird little game! It sucks, but I'm glad you enjoyed it regardless.
This game is very beginner unfriendly and it definitely is not for everyone, it is a much more difficult game by comparison to other games like Elevation and Dandy's. That is never changing, and I want to keep Depth Spelunking difficult, but there are definitely some flaws and balancing issues we need to address, and watching your video made me realise a few things. I did write a few things down and I will be working on addressing them in the future.

Death is merely the way to learn, or use the WIP Wiki to cheat a little on the knowledge.

It’s not dandy’s world in the slightest 😭
There is a secret boss fight-type thing that occurs at floor 2 where you gotta do every task but leave one and then wait for the elevator to run out of power (everything will go dark) and when that happens wait around 5-6 minutes and then do the last task and go back to the elevator and it should take you to a secret level
Edit:It can happen in any floor and the waiting time is around 8 minutes

DISCLAIMER: if you want to learn the game by yourself, dont read this, go in blind.
also i highly recommend checking out games similar to this (Minus Descendance, Minus Elevation, Addition Abstraction and Caustic Confines) < i've also played these and they are good as well check them out rahhh
Gazer (the monster who murked them at the end): Spinning head, looks like Figure. Just don't move in his line of sight, which is basically infinite. Breaking LoS (line of sight, eg: the monster seeing you) will still make him go to your last spotted location.
Wanderer (the monster with a red eyeball, guy straight up from Minus Elevation/Descendance): Basic enemy, simple mechanics. Fires a laser that slows targets. Just break LoS while running away long enough, like with most basic enemies.
Warden: minecraft warden, just crouch to avoid him. touching him will kill you.
Drone: (the small slow guy in a suit that goes whirrrr in the video): a robot. slow, always knows where you are. easy to avoid, easy to know where he is.
Mimic: the mimic. same as wanderer but disguises as a player, either outrun him for long enough using speed boosts or break LoS and get him off your tail.
Eyemaster: (The guy that Rogurt got chased by endlessly, has eyes on every direction of his head)
straight up from Minus Descendance, a lot to explain here, but he has 2 states, 1 is where he is way more dangerous. just break LoS long enough to make him go away. Usually need speed boosting items and lots of stamina to outrun him long enough to turn a corner repeatedly and break LoS
theres more than these and theres bosses/sins as well but I highly recommend checking the wiki
it's not FULLY complete but it does help you if you dont feel like learning it on your own through trial and death (i understand that)

i died to projected, gazer because i didnt know how they worked so i had to check how gazer worked because he followed me everywhere and projected i just learned it
Should mention that gazer is bugged (Sees through certain walls)
Please add gaps after the period so its pretty much 3-4 small paragraphs
THE MIMIC
Please note that minus descendance is also discontinued, it’s still pretty fun but it does not have as much mechanics or anything to make the start of your game better
(I have not played it in like 2 years so idk if this is right)
there is so much more to the game once you go beyond floor 15. The learning curve is quite high but I'd say its highly worth it. You could never guess the amount of content that hides in further floors
I've played my fair share of roguelike horrors inspired by minus decadence and each one of them has the one flaw that if someone dies, they sit out for good and just watch so a group of friends has to decide "hmm should we just quit." There's always a lack of incentive to keep going after a buddy dies.
If this game had something like.... hear me out... "Fortnite reboot cards" this would be peak to replay with a group of friends. Especially for the lobbies that take you to a different server for the gameplay, they might as well add a respawn system.
To elaborate on further on the revive system idea, lets say its the next floor and someone maybe 2 has died last floor. Their "Reboot card" will be scattered around the map. They can be taken back to the elevator and placed in a machine that revives the player AFTER the floor ends. That way you can keep going until the whole team gets wiped out and failed to revive the players.
roblox games without revives using reboot cards is actually a sick ass concept

I think they said not inspired by dandy world was because a large bunch of them are little kids and always assume that the slightest similarity is related to THEIR favorite game and not the game it was actually based off of. They are so blissfully unaware it’s actually sad
Gazer (lighthouse thingy that got you guys) = don't move
Boreas (Block Tales guy in rogurt's words) = makes you slower
Drone: knows your location but is very slow
Wanderer: makes you slower if you're close enough to it
Warden: can hear
Mimic: mimics
Shrieker (weird blue 3 legged thing): shrieks and paralyzes you
Eyemaster: has a HUGE LoS, just pop any speed item and break LoS
There's a lot more but that's all you encountered I think

isn't that the point of the bestiary? idk if that's in this game cause i'm applying minus elevation/descendance logic but if it is, then there shouldn't be a reason for this other than to help people who are too impatient to read.

tip for Eye Masters: just run till it loses you (I hate this entity)
tip for Gazers: don't move, even when it's coming to you

tip for Lurkers: don't get close to it, it will only stay in one spot for a while
tip for Shriekers: just get out of its way or it will stun you,it won't chase you, it also doesn't kill you but can make you get killed by other entities

better tip for eye master:
don’t let it see you, it flashes between off and on. when it’s face is dark, you can walk around it relatively safely, when it’s eyes are out though, you gotta stay out of sight

Gazer and eyemaster is a death sentence, they should make eyemaster close its eyes for longer and more often

the blue ghost and the fleshy monster at 22:12 are actually one whole entity because when they collide with each other, they fuse and transform

On every first floor, there are like no entities
The eye dude shoots smth at you to slow you down (he has a few variants, I mean, you can find him as a furry)
Never do tasks around entities, cuz they can kill you while you're doing them
That big eyed lighthouse looking ahh entity is stubborn, once it sees you, it's going to chase you for a long damn time.
There are some maps that are really big n confusing so make sure you can find your way back
And the battery in the elevator is sorta like a timer ig? Once it's 0% all the power goes out.
n from my understanding, the ghost and the big skeleton thingy you had are actually one guy called projected!!! The ghost roams around to kill, and it can possess the meaty skeleton dude (It's a mime type!!)

It is best to hide behind objects and avoid enemy agro. especially when you don't have any starter items (also the wander, terreria noise guy, shoots a laser when seeing a person that will slow if hit)

There are flaws to the game but they'll improve overtime - the devs are cool people and just don't want to make the game "pay to win" so they dodged the "buy revive" stuff from my knowledge when I spoke to them
I'd personally like the game to remain no respawn, but if they did add it, it'd be nice to see "respawns possible every 5 floors" instead of "spend real money"
Respawns every break room would be a better idea.

(Depth Spelunking is a WIP fangame of Minus elevation. Minus elevation is overall a better expirience and has counterplay. Also its a game which deserves much more recognition it deserves.

minus elevation is cool but the devs basically gave up lol
the intent that depth spelunking devs had was to sort of continue off where minus elevation scrapped (since there was a lot in testing that never made the cut)
@@celestialcerulean The game is still getting updates , although yes its not what it used to be before since the main dev is working on something else atm. Recently 2 new entities were added and a couple of new items. So the game is not dead YET.

I want to point out, "Minus Elevation", is actually based off ANOTHER game similar to it called "Minus Decendance", i don't know if the original version of it is still on Roblox though

The figure thing is actually part of the ICE ghost thing if it reaches the figure it will hunt everyone with no mercy and gazer the seek thing that you guys saw that was spinning it head stand still the bunch of eyes (eye master) will blink which it can’t see and the green thing with three legs is shrieker well it is passive just shrieks and runs stunning you which it could also attract warden the block tales character (I forgot it’s name) it can cause you to slow and freeze which it can insta-kill
if you turn up your fps, the valve task is way faster for some reason
