Good day, when deciding to cover top and front should you pre-measure both before starting a book? Thank you for your help! Im wanting to try the top it makes the book look very finished…my thought!

I pretended that was the front of the book - so I did a 5" high book and the number of pages same as the front - 319 pages which came out to photo being.80" wide.

Yes. You would have to measure both to create the patterns.
