She's just another Jay Pharaoh. Great impressionist but not a good sketch comedian. They are different breeds.

This Melissa really enjoyed learning about another Melissa! These hikes are so great for not the usual q&a but really learning about people as a whole and some of their talents and dimensions. Melissa is great. I don't think SNL has quite figured out how to amplify her talent yet.

SNL isn't what it use to be. Impressions are always funny and there are some great impressionists on the cast such as Melissa. But, the show use to be able to create made up characters that would catch on and become classic re-occuring sketches. Not as much anymore it seems.
The show is entirely too political and it seems too agenda-driven like they are trying to eliminate half their potential audience.

@@suprchickn7745 The pitch for SNL was written by an ex sitting U.S. Senator. The show has always been nothing more than a creative outlet for comics and theater students ect. There's an entire segment of the show that's just politics.
Hiking brings out the best of us, it seems like great therapy for restless minds. Melissa Villasenor is my favorite snl member right now, , great show..can't wait to see more.

2022,.....Great hike and interview! I stopped watching SNL, for a few years and never knew a lot of the newer cast members. She's great and it was some other interviews and You Tube posts she made that brought my awareness of her. Her impersonations of Owen Wilson, that I saw, made me want to know more about her. Neat.
That was a trip. Always laughed at your SNL skits and movies, then passed you at Temescal just past the Dam and little open space w Sycamore trees from the Sunset trail-head, (that seem to be at your intro and outro footage herein, [even though most of the hike with my future lover Melissa Villasenor appears to be in Hollywood], further down the same amazing Topanga trail). Loved your present, smily listening and timely quips rife w apt, intriguing, funny replies, call-backs and queries.

OMG! Melissa Villaseñor! I love her music, and voices. She's one of my favs.
A lot of famous historical people are buried in old European churches. Plus, many were built on existing places of worship, or ley lines. Some of the best art was commissioned by churches. If she's a fan of dark art, there's plenty to see there. Can't get more morbid than the black plague crypts.
Meeting the living people there is interesting, too.
You just have to wait by the door, all the time.

Damn......I been wanting to hear/see this ladies funny bones for so frickin long its stupid........saw her AGT audition and never saw anything else.......didn't know she was on SNL.....guess there are some drawbacks to not having tv since they changed to the high def signal and being stuck in the sticks........good for her......glad she made it somewhere to showcase her talent.....thanks for sharing
