      One thing that I find to be a big weakness with Lures, are the exposed hooks. They can snag on underwater rocks and tree parts, like logs and such. If that happens, you have to try and try and try again, to get your Lure back, and if you can't, then there goes several dollars worth of Lure! They used to have a Weedless Hook Guard System, that someone came up with on a few Lures...but, to this day, they don't seem to have developed a Weedless Hook Guard for Lures.
      I guess we're just stuck with the old game of "Rollin' the Dice,band takin' your chances, when it comes to fishing Lures with no hook guards!

    • @Skim_beeble7125
      @Skim_beeble7125 2 месяца назад

      @@ronaldshank7589probably because having something actually block your hook is a lot worse than snaging
      reel faster if you are snaging its almost always because you are reeling to slow and bouncing off the bottom also elevate your rod tip to keep the lure further away from the floor also if you hate snaging that much and can't get around it take the treble hooks off your lure and change them out for just normal u hooks or what ever you want ive always noticed treble hooks are way more prone to snaging they weight more and have more surface area to get caught on
      I don't know im the king of snags I just lost a nice chatter bait and spinner today

    I’ve found hair jigs on ultralight are pretty hard to beat for trout if you aren’t fly fishing. Depending on color and how you work it they can imitate anything from baitfish to a hellgramite.
    I saw a comment above that spinners work well in lakes and deeper rocky rivers, I tend to agree with that! Good video 👍🏻

    No fish were hurt during the making of this video. Also and usually the major difference in catching or not catching is Depending on the depth of the river/stream and time of day and time of year if it’s a deep patch of river I always let it sink for a couple seconds before starting my retrieval usually the trout are right on the bottom and the slowest you can reel without getting snagged is my secret. Friend was fishing right next to me and was retrieving too quickly and never had a chance to get near the bottom.

    great tips, although i don’t recommend fishing them downstream and reeling them to you (as someone who has used spinners for trout countless hours). reason why is streams with a moderate to quick flow will REALLY make that spinner spin, and i find that’s something you don’t always want on more spooky fish (which trout often are). thanks for the video! not enough people know about this cheat code

    How do you switch the hooks without breaking them? Theres no way to slip the loop out of it to replace with single shank hooks. I hate when I get a tiny trout that swallows a treble hook🤦🏾‍♂️😂

    Don't know that you need to clutter your line with a swivel whe you're using an in-line spinner. Just sayin.

      I find that it helps prevent line twists from the spinners so I use it with them but not other lures. Thanks for watching!

      Definitely a solid option and I’ll tie one on if I need a quick change on the water. If just changes the presentation slightly and I find I get less fish committing to bite when I use it! Thanks for watching!
