I definitely favor this one over the cool tone palette. The cool tone palette was just too blue for me and I love blue but most of those grey tone shades will look bluish on me. Which is fine but makes the palette a bit redundant for me as too many of the shades will look very similar on my skin tone. Esthetically both palettes are so beautiful to look at. I am waiting for the Gothic palette to come back in stock
Great minds think alike! And yeah I'm going to pick up all the others when they restock and review them over time. This formula was one of the best I've tried and I like that CB has reasonable prices in comparison to other indie brands. That's another strong point for me.
I wanted to add, you are so right about how the palette has redundant colors, especially for deeper skin tones. I find the warmer palette a bit more forgiving than the cool tone palette because of my specific undertone. I am olive undertone with some warmth leaning. I think this is why I didn’t jump automatically to pick up these palettes as I have been duping out the colour stories to see how much I would enjoy using the palettes and I have mixed results when it comes to the mattes of the colour story. So I know if I pick up any of these two palettes, it would be because of the shimmers
Yes! You've captured my sentiments exactly. I've seen several brands creating palettes that don't show up well for deeper skin tones. It really sucks but hey not all shades show up well on all skin tones - there need to be different versions of the same palette. Arm Swatches don't mean much because colours show up differently there. I also have olive in my skintone. And I have to agree with you- the shimmers are incredible. The formula in general is so freaking good!!
Totally agree on the criticism that it is missing some shades/redundant in the light brown mattes. They could have created a better gradient. Personally I think they are missing some mid-tone browns, both warm and neutral. I have this palette and my skin tone is light/fair, and four of the light browns in here just blend into my skin. They're kind of invisible on me, while on you they look invisible or grey. I don't think they did enough testing with the color story on different skin tones for these palettes. Cosmic Brushes has been mostly doing very colorful color stories and they've had great success with it, and personally Muse is my favorite palette ever. But I think doing "nudes" comes with a lot more work to make sure it's right across skin tones. And even for me, I can only use those light browns for transition/primer setting, so I would only need one, not 4 of them. And for a light skin tone I need those mid-tone browns to bridge the gap between the light and dark colors, and for deeper skin tones they would be good transition colors. Without the mid tone browns it makes it harder for me to use as well. My most loved nude palettes have a wide gradient of browns, from light to medium to dark, and I think that makes them easier to use on every skin tone. One of my faves is the Artist Couture nude palette. Not every shade in there works well for me, but I can do every nude look I ever want to do because of the well thought out options provided. Even if every color in the palette aren't perfect for everybody, providing the right shades can make it easy and fun to use for many more of us. I think this is showing a bit of creative immaturity on the part of Cosmic Brushes and I hope that they hear this kind of feedback so they can be more awesome next time! I enjoy watching your reviews because you're so good at giving constructive criticism without going too negative and you also go into these details instead of just stopping at talking about how amazing the formula is, which it is, but also the color choices matter.
Aww, thank you so much. You're right on everything here and helped me understand how this may not be good on lighter tones too. I haven't used that palette before. I really appreciate you taking the time to be so detailed, it was a joy to read your comment and I hope you're having the most wonderful week 💕
I like that one but I figured out I won't pick it up because I knew I can't get away with muted tones when it comes to neutral shades. I don't know if this is my undertone but sometimes I feel like my skin is just eating colors 😂 I agree with your point about having too many similar shades of the same tone (which is also the case in Cooltrals) and this is why I think it suits anyone who's light-light medium better because those muted tones might show more vibrant on them.
You summed it up perfectly, I feel the same. Some shades were getting eaten by my skintone too. That being said, the formula is so good, and the price is way more affordable than the majority of indie palettes I've seen lately.
I don't know if you noticed but there are a lot of shades that could be confused with your skin tone so that's why you can't do much with them. Your skin tone is also on the muted side, which doesn't help with that specific color story. The price seems fair for the quality but that doesn't mean that it has its downside, at least for anyone who's your skin tone or deeper. It's a shame that you have to find a way to make those shades work for you. I promise my goal isn't to throw shade or anything but I know I would have been disappointed if I had experienced this. But you like the shimmers enough to find it good as if you're happy, I'm happy too 😊
@TraXs. I didn't feel shade at all, you're absolutely correct on all of this. I've noticed this happening with several palettes that are neutral or very cool toned, so I kind of expect it nowadays 💕
@@ColourfulIndian Oh maybe it's me who's overthinking it 😅 I'm new in this community and maybe it's me who doesn't have realistic expectations. Thank you again for your review 😊
@TraXs. hey you're fine... I mean we all have different experiences and I appreciated your thoughtful input - that to me is the point of a community. I never really got into cool tones and cooler neutrals until this year and that's when I realised these tones don't really show up for me as well as others do, so now it's something I kind of suspect before trying out shades but I am still open to test them out. If I use a white base it would be fine but I've moved away a lot from that.

Loving the last two looks..thank you
Thank you 💕
Such a beautiful palette!
@blendofdays yeah it's esthetically pleasing without a doubt 💕

I'm a cool toned girl but you make me wanna by the nudetrals palette more, what's happening haha. Your reviews are always amazing just as your looks 💛
Haha I'm also a cool tone girl but Nudetrals converted me 😁😁😁
I liked it guaranteeing
Thank you Riki :)

I still haven't tried either palette, though I have them.
I think you'll really enjoy them Janet, these were so fun 😁
