I found your video after I had a flashback of my childhood when I caught a ball in the stands at my first Patriots versus the Bengals game back in the 80s sometime my father was begging the Usher to let me keep it even bribe them to let me keep it and all the fans was screaming let it stay let it stay and they took the ball as I cried my eyes out and everyone started Booing. By the end of the game at least 25 people sitting near me came over and gave me a ball that they bought at the gift counter at the stadium then my father cried nice video

SAM BRICKELL how does that make sense?
I work on the ball crew for an NFL team, and if a game ball goes into the stands, either by accident or by a player tossing it into the crowd, we don't ask for it back. The kicking ball is a whole different story. There are a specific number of K-balls that are numbered, but usually only ball 1 and 2 are used. The kickers want to keep using those 2 balls in rotation because they get a "broke-in feel" to them. If one of those balls goes into the stands, we usually just trade a regular game ball for the K-ball. Although it doesn't happen often, we haven't had a problem getting a K-ball back.
Why don’t you tell us about the magnetic balls? A close friend of mine who once worked at the Oakland Raiders at one point as an assistant coach spilt the beams two decades ago! F the NFL, a lot of these stupid games are definitely rigged.
the magnets are used predominantly towards kicks so it makes complete sense. there are many videos that show absolutely zero wind effect and the balls trajectory is totally unnatural.

I studied the baseball case in law school; it is actually a super interesting and novel case at the time it was brought. there was another similar one brought that dealt with who gets the ball if one person in the stands catches it but drops it and another gets it after. I'll save you the research; it is the second person's ball following the "finder's keeper's" rule because the ball is considered "abandoned property" for purposes of the law, so whoever "finds it" (i.e. gets possession first) gets finder's rights.
I was at a MLB game where the bat slipped out of the batters hands and flew into the stands. A guy a couple of rows in front of me caught it. The usher came down and explained to the guy that they didn't want him to have the bat in the stands for safety reasons and that he could pick it up after the game was over. (He actually did get it back after the game)
It's not even douchy to bring a glove to a ball game though.

I kept a football from the Seahawks... from the 80s (ouch) that some player threw into the crowd. Security came to me and wanted the ball. I had already "handed it off" to a friend.
"Where's the ball !?"
"I don't know."
And they frisked me on the way out. (And they were pissed. No ball !)
And being that it was freaking cold outside, everyone had huge coats. But the Kingdome was heated. So people were shuffling around heavy coats when leaving the game, and my friend just hid the ball in his coat.
I let him keep it. Yeah, still has it. ;-)

Wow, I never thought about this. I just assumed they kept the balls.
I was at a game where a guy caught a ball after it missed the net on an extra point. He then threw the ball to someone else in the stands. The ball then kept getting thrown around the stadium. The ball made it around the stadium about three times before a security guy eventually confiscated the ball. The guy who originally caught the ball was ejected. The security guys were boo’ed excessively. However, the football gods smiled upon our team that day for showing so much team spirit.😊

Evidence for Jesus Christ’s existence, crucifixion, and disappearance from the tomb (He rose from it):
The Lord Jesus Christ did exist, gathered disciples, and was crucified and went missing from the tomb. To argue about wether He was taken from the grave or rose from it, is an argument a skeptic can make. Because well if you disregard the eye witness testimony of the disciples and there willingness to die for Christ, and humans won’t die for something they know is a lie, when Peter is pinned upside down to that cross, he could have said that it was a fake, but He didn’t because it wasn’t, what care would he have about death in this world if he knew for a fact he had assurance of a life in another, Jesus Christ did rise from the tomb and is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Now the evidence for the Lord Jesus Christ’s existence really isn’t hard to find a multitude of non-Christian scholars and historians mention Him within 150 years after the time of His life. One such is Tacitus a Roman historian who reported on emperor nero’s decision to blame the Christians for the fire that had destroyed rome in 64 AD. Tacitus wrote:
“Nero fastened the guilt ... on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of ... Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome…”
In this Tacitus makes reference to not only Christians, but Christ calling Him Christus and confirming the Gospels going on to say that He suffered the extreme penalty (crucifixion) under the reign of Tiberius and by the sentence of Pontius Pilate, which like I said confirms the Gospels narrative.
Another important source of evidence about Jesus and early Christianity can be found in the letters of Pliny the Younger to Emperor Trajan. Pliny was the Roman governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor. In one of his letters, dated around A.D. 112, he asks Trajan's advice about the appropriate way to conduct legal proceedings against those accused of being Christians. Pliny says that he needed to consult the emperor about this issue because a great multitude of every age, class, and sex stood accused of Christianity. At one point in his letter, Pliny relates some of the information he has learned about these Christians:
“They were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food - but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.”
This passage provides a number of interesting insights into the beliefs and practices of early Christians. First, we see that Christians regularly met on a certain fixed day for worship. Second, their worship was directed to Christ, demonstrating that they firmly believed in His divinity. Furthermore, one scholar interprets Pliny's statement that hymns were sung to Christ, "as to a god", as a reference to the rather distinctive fact that, "unlike other gods who were worshipped, Christ was a person who had lived on earth." If this interpretation is correct, Pliny understood that Christians were worshipping an actual historical person as God! Of course, this agrees perfectly with the New Testament doctrine that Jesus was both God and man.
You may have heard of the scholar Flavius Josephus who mentioned James as being the brother of the Lord Jesus Christ, which matches what Paul said calling James “The Lord’s brother” and there is another document that Josephus may have written which goes:
“About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he ... wrought surprising feats.... He was the Christ. When Pilate ...condemned him to be crucified, those who had . . . come to love him did not give up their affection for him. On the third day he appeared ... restored to life.... And the tribe of Christians ... has ... not disappeared.”
Now it’s up to debate wether this is the entirely original document of what Josephus wrote, or if a Christian had edited it. But regardless he wrote about the Lord Jesus Christ. Wether it was negative or positive like the possible document is. Anyways there are many other statements, documents, letters, and writings of all sorts from the ancient world talking about the Lord Jesus Christ and there is not one question if He was a real person or if He was crucified and went missing from the grave. That is clear as day, He is a real person, was crucified, and went missing from the grave. And He did rise from the grave. And for more evidence of the Lord Jesus Christ, there’s the Bible and you see there is no evidence the Bible is corrupted, a lie, created by the Roman government, folktale. It is the recount of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, now wether you want to believe it is up to you. And what profit was there in spreading Christianity, All the early Christian suffered persecution, beatings, and were killed. Another Scholar reported that James the Lord’s Brother was thrown off a building and then stoned to death for spreading the Gospel in Jerusalem. These people went to great lengths even giving their own lives for the Adon Jesus the Christ.

The report from Tacitus the Roman Historian (116 AD)
“Nero fastened the guilt ... on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of ... Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome…”
This not only gives evidence that Christ Jesus truly walked the earth, but also confirms the Gospel Narrative that Christ Jesus was crucified and that it was via the sentence of Pontius Pilate.
“and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment,”
And some believe this refers to the Resurrection of Christ Jesus!

Pliny the Younger’s Letter to Emperor Trajan. (112 AD)
[Pliny was the Roman Governor of Bithynia and Pontus (now in modern Turkey).]
““They were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food - but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.”
This letter shows that even the early Christians seemed to regard Christ as God, that the early Christians followed the New Testament Doctrine that Christ Jesus is both God and man, and further proves His historical existence!

Josephus Flavius passage on Christ Jesus
(93-94 AD)
“About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he ... wrought surprising feats.... He was the Christ. When Pilate ...condemned him to be crucified, those who had . . . come to love him did not give up their affection for him. On the third day he appeared ... restored to life.... And the tribe of Christians ... has ... not disappeared.”
There is debate whether this is the original text or whether a Christian had edited this text, but that is not the emphasis, it is that whether positive or negative this document gives further proof to Christ Jesus’s existence, disciples, Crucifixion, and Resurrection.
The idea that Christ Jesus didn’t exist is a recent one and is a complete lie.

My town used to have an arena football team (Well, we had two, the Shock, and then the Empire) And if someone caught a ball that went into the crowd, they could trade it for one signed by the whole team. I'm assuming they did that so they could keep the balls they liked (hehe)
I was at an arena league game last year, and before the game, and each time it happened, they announced that you could keep a ball that goes in the stands. Didn't catch one, but the game itself was a pretty cool experience.
Well yeah, you could keep the one you caught (That's What most people did) but they'd bribe you with trading it in for the team-signed one.

What we learned from this video, arena football is where it's at
The only reasonable one is basketball. The ball leaves the court the most out of all these sports
No way, a baseball leaves the playing field more than any other sport by far
But of the sports that don't allow it, basketball is the sport where the ball leaves the most
Soccer too. The ball goes into the crowd a lot and since there are no clock stoppages they don't want to go through 30 balls a game.
It’s way more likely for a ball to leave the court in basketball game via a missed pass, tipped ball, etc than it is for a ball to leave a football field, even via a kick.

It's funny because in the MLB if you're asked to give a ball back it's typically for some big milestone, i.e. a players first career home run. Typically the team gives you more than a coupon. If you're good at negotiating you can get some signed gear and maybe even meet some of the players. In football, they give you a coupon for something.

Or, some of the specific balls have some type of magnets in them. Especially those kicking Balls. 🤷🏼♂️
They don't let you have the kicking balls because they probably put magnets in those balls so they can make them miss when they want to help out the team they want to help. That, or they just put counterweights in the ball so it will fly off the left or to the right.
Just last weekend, the NFL helped the Dolphins beat the Raiders by forcing a missed extra point, and the NFL also tried to help the Cardinals out by causing two or even three bad kicks by the 49ers...when the Niners took an 8 point lead with 8 minutes to go, the extra point was missed. Then with 1 minute to go, the Niners also missed a short field goal which gave the Cardinals another chance to come back and tie the game...coincidence? I believe that's why the NFL moved back the extra points a few years back...so they could cause misses to keep the games close and help teams win that follow the storyline or who they want to win...

You'd only understand this if you're a quarterback, but in higher levels before the game you go through this big bucket of balls and pick out the ones you want to play with, as a variety of factors about the ball (most of the time just comfort) can effect how good you feel throwing back there. Rodger Goodell is the worst commissioner ever Paul tagliabue so much better as NFL commissioner
Garry Bettman is definitely worse but Goodell comes in a close 2nd.
No idea why this came up in my recommendations today, but I did want to chuckle about Geno Smith, 2022 NFL Pro Bowler. 🤣
I've seen players intentionally throw balls into the stands in the Canadian Football League. Apparently, players can be charged 75 dollars for each ball they chuck into the stands, but that may vary by team (since used balls are sometimes destined for donation to amateur football programs). Still, you get to keep the ball if you catch it. I've even seen players climb the stairs to the lower level stands in the end zone after their TD catch and hand the ball to a fan, rather than throwing it. I think this is a much better policy, even if players are officially fined for doing it intentionally - it adds to the live experience of a game, which ultimately leads to more people buying tickets. The NFL should consider doing this too. A 6 grand fine for tossing a ball into the stands is totally disproportionate to the apparent violation, and ejecting fans who elect to keep the ball they catch is a good way to piss off a fanbase.
I see lots of players chucking balls in the stands now
(CONSPIRACY ALERT): Probably because the commissioner knows the air levels of the balls are tampered with by certain teams so he doesn’t want this to be exposed
TheShowGamer27
I've heard stuff about that, but it sounds crazy to believe or even think about it lol
TheShowGamer27 wait do people really still care about that?
Yes, I totally agree!
Why y'all act like fans can't tamper with the ball while n their possession? Who the hell will take a fans word as truth?
I believe this policy can be traced back to the 1940 NFL Championship Game between the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins. As most people know, that was the infamous 73-0 annihilation that remains the most one-sided game in NFL history and the 73 points the Bears scored in that game remain a record for the most points any team has scored in an NFL game.
But how that game may relate to the rule of the NFL not allowing fans to keep field goals and extra points kicked over the netting and into the stands is that, back in 1940, the fans actually were allowed to keep the balls. But the officials ran into a problem. Because the Bears scored so many touchdowns, and thus kicking so many extra points, the officials were worried that they might literally run out of footballs with which to finish the game. And when the game ended, they were down to their last football. In fact, they even told the Bears not to kick any more extra points, but instead run a standard offensive play for the point after.
I believe it was after that totally unforeseen situation that the NFL adopted the rule that the fans could not keep any balls that went into the stands, and even though they now have enough balls to play a full game without ever risking running out should they allow the fans to keep the balls kicked into the stands, they've not changed that rule, which is why fans are not allowed to keep the balls kicked into the stands.
I used to have season tickets in the front row of the endzone to Charger games, and this is completely true. What we would do is catch the ball and run up to costumer service or something of the sort and have them hold the ball for you until the end of the game. They obviously don't assume you just caught a ball from the field so it works 100%
"I wish someone would fight for my loose balls" - FivePoints Vids 2017
I caught one during field goal warm ups at fedex. The grounds crew tried to get me to hand it to them so I launched it to the 30 standing still in the 12th row. It went over Amani Toomer and he looked up at the goal line and it bounced next to Darrell Geeen at the 30. The stands around me erupted. I had a cannon in 2000 still. Funnily enough, receivers like Rice may have been a reason fans weren't allowed to keep balls, as he would often use an adhesive substance on his hands that would aid his catching ability, and this substance would probably leave residue behind on the ball

Jacob Del Real you mad little girl?
Christian Keller KEEP THE BALL..FUCK THE COP TRYING TO TAKE IT AWAY!!! 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕
If you're at Wrigley and you throw back a foul ball you will be ejected from the stadium. Only homerun balls are allowed to be thrown back at Wrigley.
I am going to have to disagree with you on the rules at Wrigley. - Steve Bartman
Steven Norman why would you even wanna throw the Ball back
away homeruns
That's the cubs for you
Hillarytrump Yeah, we're the best.😎
The panthers stadium allows it, a ball from the kickoff flew into the stands and the guy who caught it kept it
The Orange it's cause of Cam
FmJ Flamez yeah
The Orange Cam is just such a good boy
I worked as a security security guard for an MLB team on the field and first deck level. Every once in a while I would snag a foul ball. As I would climb to the top of the section to the handicap seating to give them the ball, it was amazing how disgusting those people who could afford $200/seat tickets for the whole family would act when I would not give them the ball.
Pro football players...if you can reach the upper decks by throwing do so. Those might be the working class. Chances are working class are at home wishing the could afford cable to watch a game.
Giving a football to a very spoiled kid in the front row means nothing. Your being generous with somebody else's property to make you look good.
Watching this in 2022, Geno is Killing it
My family got to keep a NFL football and we got it signed by the Chiefs player so u can keep a football
Fuck the chiefs
@@giraffenuts2123 not even a chiefs fan but fuck you.
youraveragedad he’s a hurt niner fan
The Video Editor your a Viking fan shut up
Fuck the Chiefs you son of a bitch
Why don't they just do what MLB does when a bat goes into the stands: exchange it for a brand new one?
MLB does that, where. Not here in philly, plus a game used ball is more valuable than a cheapo "new" one
Not with balls, with bats. If a bat flies into the stands, usually the batter wants it back. So they give you a new one, sometimes signed, and you give the game-used one back to the batter.
Here in Japan, the fan must return the ball but many foreigners say, fuck that.
Since when? Whenever a bat flies into the stands the fan keeps it... A security guard usually confronts them about it though, I mean they do have a weapon in the stands lol
You can keep the bat...
Hey five
REFER TO POINT 3
I love you five
+Hydro Memes You forgot #nohomo
Cuz they have magnets inside the ball. They don't want you to know how these guys make great catches and how field goals are really missed.
Romo was pretty dang accurate. A handful of bonehead throws, but a record holder for positive plays, nonetheless.
All those footballs my uncle said he caught was fake 😩
so was secret wrestling camp
Savagepaul101 Idc this is kinda new before you could keep balls
Savagepaul101 Idc
I'm pretty sure he was telling you about his sexual experiences with feet...
... and his balls...
Lol
Most teams have a policy when a ball is kicked into the stands, the fan that caught the ball has to give it back but will be reimbursed with a practice/game used football from the team that kicked it. On the other hand if a ball is handed directly to you, you have full obligation to keep the football and the player is not fined, however if the player throws the football or kicks the football into the stands they are fined for that, oh and the fan gets to keep the football. I go to many giants games and see it happen all the time.
But when do the giants score nowadays?
@@nathanq33 they're doing it now
Another great video ma man
I dont like football but this video is so good. I especially enjoy how enthusiastic you are about the topic. A true fan.
Loved that buffalo pun at the end ... BILLS MAFIA !!!
In a nascar race when the car gets into the grand stands people get to keep the car parts lodged into their deceased bodies.
What about the dude with the Mohawk at a Bears game who caught a kicked extra point that went over the net and into the tunnel, and the guy jumped into it and caught the ball. hope he got to keep it.
Richard Nixon yes he did I'm pretty sure
Richard Nixon i guarantee he got ejected weither he kept the ball or not
Richard Nixon First thing I thought about was that Monday Night game he went all out to catch that ball
4:41 had me dieing 💀💀
Because they don't want people to know that they rig games with magnets in the balls.
All the Geno jokes, and the dudes just killin it now.
5 years later we talking about Geno?? How’s he doing with the hawks? 😏😏
" I'm trying not to say a joke ok... Ok well ima say the joke i widh someone would play into my balls" I'm dead
i went to a Redskins game when i was 10, sitting at the 50 yard line and Clinton Portis threw me a ball
clinton portis is a gr8 rb
As a Bills fan I admit that I spent twice the amount of time outside than inside.
Man, if you haven't had a steak and eggs breakfast on a cold but sunny, snow covered Sunday morning in the lot before the game, you haven't lived.
The balls are $120 each, PLUS the literal DAYS the equipment managers put into prepping EACH ball to the quarterback's preferences.
So what happens when Cam Newton scores a touchdown and gives a football to a fan
No they dont. They also don't fine players for giving balls away just for throwing them. The problem is when 2 people catch it at once and fight for it. Or grown man catches it over the little kid it was intended for
dabo55182 They don’t do Any Thing Cam Is Allowed to do it because He scored
+ Memes... If Cam throws a football in the stands, yeah, he would most likely be fined or given a warning by the league. But I don't think he has ever done that. He just hands a ball to a kid. Has it not always been a kid?
@@shampoofully7923 Yes they do fine them but its chump change to them. Plus if they give away too many balls they won't have enough to play the game.
@@koolkitties8552 they don't but ok
The fine unpaid amateur players? That's kinda shitty
TreWhite What? They are not finning amateur players.
what? is that English? proofread much??
Can Newton is probably a little salty but he does have a heart
Caught a muffed extra point attempt at 49ers Candlestick Park in the 80's. Kept it, no body asked me to give it back.
Magnetic gloves they wear with a magnetic football.
Makes perfect sense why they do not want fans to keep
the football.
I went to a ravens/bengals game last year. While Justin Tucker was practicing on the sideline, he somehow knocked a ball into the stands where a young boy grabbed it. Justin demanded the ball back and after some resistance the boy gave it back. Justin later returned with a ball for the boy and probably made that kids whole year. Props to Justin Tucker
thats cool
4:38 that guy was a savage
Only Greatness in 2018 drunk = savage
Because you might let some air out and give it back to Tom Brady. Lmao, only a joke, don't get too butthurt guys. 😂😂😂😂😂
Samuel Clark 😂
Lol
lol
WAIT A MINUTE!!! Why is it okay for a kicker to have balls inflated to pressure levels they like and then that ball is not used for anything but kicking? Isn't that basically Inflate-gate in every game. Coming from a non Pats/Brady fan too.
someone probably already said this, but at the US Open (tennis), you get to keep balls that go into the stands. I think that it's still the only major where this is the case.
next video: WHY YOU CANT KEEP AN NBA BASKETBALL THAT GOES IN THE STANDS!
If the ball goes into the stand hide the ball from them
Ok
LOL, a $6,000 fine for throwing a ball into the stands, those guys probably piss that much away in one night at a strip joint!..
There is a Geno Smith, Tebow, and Cam joke. Also Bills fans jokes, every vid, 10/10 as a yinzer
You are totally correct about your choice to keep the ball or not in NFL. Depending on the quarter and score, if leave for chance to keep a NFL ball.
keep it and then leave the game. thats my plan.
00Billy it would be worth it at a browns game because we already know the outcome
It’s because you’d see the magnets /s
You can keep the balls AND stay in the CFL. Just one more reason the CFL is superior.
...and because there's more action - passing, motion etc in the CFL. Too bad they have a lousy TV contract down here.
Worrying over fines for throwing balls into the stands is what inadvertently led to the start of a classic NFL celebration. In 1965, Giants WR Homer Jones wanted to throw the ball in the stands but as he scored his 1st NFL TD he remembered that he would get fined $500 (the rule had just been implemented that year) for doing so...so he threw the ball on the ground. Hence, the first touchdown spike.
I TOTALLY appreciate the 716 shout-out bud. GO BILLS! (FANS!) [BReakIN TABLES!!!!!]
