I recently came out to my mom and she was so supportive and amazing and told me I can date anyone as long as they treat me well because my happiness is what truly matters. I know I'm lucky and a lot of coming out stories are far from happy but I just wanted to spread some positivity about coming out to a supportive parent.

i remember i never really come out, my parents just started to buy me rainbow stuff to show me that they knew. It made my heart warm when I figured it out.
i recently bought a lesbian bracelet and i loveeeeee wearing it, it always reminds me that even tho sexuality is important it’s only a small part of my identity. - a baby gay
I just want y’all in the closet to know that if they are your true friend they will accept you and if they don’t it is ok cuz then you will realize they are not a person you want to have around you anymore. Getting into this mindset rlly takes time but this has really helped me to get comfortable with openly living my sexuality.
I came out to my parents a few months ago and they support me. And I’ve never been happier! I wish I knew these things as well before coming out as well.
One thing that I wish I knew before coming out is that you don't have to identify with a label to come out to be valid in your sexuality. I was too quick to choose a label because I was afraid that my family wouldn't take me seriously without one. Like I had to be really sure to be believed. Looking back I wish I hadn't. Just saying something like "I'm not straight" or "I'm queer" is perfectly fine. After coming out I quickly went back to questioning my sexuality and I haven't actually finished it out yet. But for now I'm just a happily queer woman ❤️
My mom pressures me a lot.. she knows I have a secret that I’m not telling her and pressures me to say it but I know that I’m not ready.. I don’t know what I should do 🥺
My advice would be not to come out if you are not ready yet. You could make up something to keep her calm, or if you do not want to lie to her you could just say that you will tell her when you will be ready.
i can completely understand how you must be feeling! def wait until you're ready to come out. I second what @loscurasignora said, perhaps when she brings it up just say something along the lines of you'll tell her when you ready to and thanks for being there for you u are ready!
Something I learned in coming out is that, for better or worse, some people will surprise you (hopefully for the better). And it’s a good idea to have a safety plan in place if the talk doesn’t go the way you want it. Like a safe place you can go and a friend at the ready. I came out late in life and took the longest time to tell my Dad. I was so scared he would never want to talk to me again because he’s always been conservative. He ended up having the most positive loving response and I was completely shocked. I just started crying even harder. He was also one of the most supportive people when I started dating my first girlfriend. I know this won’t be the case for everyone, I was really lucky, but it CAN happen!

I am a female in my early 40's and when I was 18 I was outed as being gay by a friend at the time. I find it easier even now to tell people I'm gay rather than bi sexual, I do like women more. Although my family are accepting they still make homo phobia comments but say there not on about me because I'm not like that, but they are on about me. I do not know wether they say it on purpose or not. I will say I have supportive friends but none of them are gay. The one place I never thought I would be accepted was by the local Church but it's the one place I was. They're the only Church in my area that has voted for Gay Marriage. I watch your channel from the UK.
Sometimes i wish we lived in a world where we didn't had to do any of this,like you could just love who you want and be who you want but well,we don't. Coming out is hard but it also tells you what people around you really think of you haha. I'm not out to my family yet,and i hope and when and if i ever did,it'll go okay. I am going to come out on the eighth but I am worried that my schoolmates are going to hate me for it, but my parents are definitely going to be supportive I just go to a Christian school because it’s the best school academically in my area. Any advice?
Something I learned coming out is that you don’t have to tell everyone you know all at once, if you don’t want to. It’s okay to start with the people you feel the safest with and give yourself time to tell people you’re not sure about. You don’t owe anyone anything. And just know that if people are mad, it says everything about who they are and has nothing to do with you. I hope everything goes well!
great way to start off 12 gays! even though essentially the cardinal rule for coming out is only do so when you feel comfortable and are ready, i feel like everyone forgets this anyway. i definitely did when i came out to my parents (they were supportive and im very happy and i don’t regret it, but i just don’t think it was the right time because i don’t think i was personally fully ready)
i’m still trying to discover my sexuality in college, but it’s so hard to experiment when i’m afraid to get on any dating apps. I have a pretty good idea of what I like, I just wish i could find people to go on dates with.

I lot of the girls in my year level were giving me and my best friend a lot of crap about dating each other until my teacher overheard heard and then there was like a whole school assembly about what’s right and what’s wrong to say to lgbtq+ people cause it was happening in a lot of the year levels at school

Im gonna be honest, and im not being homophobic here but these are my views if i was gay, i think i like being biesxual alot more lol (which i am) im at school and like i find it so easy to tell people i like girls AND boys- infact i tell people i dont even really know that well either. its apart of me that im proud of and wouldnt wanna lose it. i do feel like if i was gay thouhg, it might have made it a little bit harder for me to come out.

I'm sure you can. At the end of the day you will figure out how you feel and that is what matters. I'm a lesbian and I had never had a a crush on anyone before figuring it all out, so everyone's story is different and if you think that you're bi you should just trust yourself! (And also, even if you're not, the worst thing that can happen is that at some point you just go, "ah, actually not interested in girls". ;))
