Random Kazuya thoughts:
Overall, I have no idea how 'good' Kazuya is, or where he might be on the tier list. Having a slow jumpsquat is such a ridiculously huge weakness. But then there are times where I grab someone at 0%, do one EWGF loop combo, and suddenly they're literally at 100. Maybe that unrivaled punish game, in combination with high weight, a workable recovery, great hitboxes, and one of the best moves in the game in Electric Wind God Fist, can let him compete at the highest levels of play. Or maybe top players will figure out how to completely obliterate him with offensive pressure, abusing his inability to quickly jump. Who knows?! I'm not a supercomputer! All I know is that he's one of the most fun characters I've ever played in Smash.

Everytime people act as if the 10 hit combo actually connects more than 3 hits i die inside
"10 hit combo is broken it does over 40" then the opponent just holds away and punishes me for a 60 percent combo

I mean, Little Mac has the same thing on his smash attacks but stronger, and he’s a faster character with a quicker, higher 1st jump.

Something I find funny about Kazuya's aerials is that all of them would be pretty good (especially Uair, which is a massive frame 4 attack). The only thing that holds them back is that Kazuya has the worst jump squat in the entire game at 7 frames
The worst part is, those are just….standard aerials that are really good, not blatant “DLC-privilege-Smash-4-Cloud-taught-us-nothing” moves.
Reminds me of Robin in Smash 4. Amazing aerials, some of the best in the game, with a disgusting 7-frame jumpsquat. Then Ultimate made that 3 frames and, well... we all have to live with the result!

@@JugularJohnbecause half of the smash roster has projectiles so they added a reflector to his move set to compensate for his short attack range and slow mobility.
I got an ad at the EXACT MOMENT that the punch at 17:35 hit. I couldn't even be mad, it was a perfectly cut meme.

the reason they put so much invincibility was to try and emulate the move 'crushing' system in tekken. basically meaning certain moves can evade high attacks, lows or sometimes even mids. twin pistons and ws2 (i forgot the actual name) have upper body invincibilty because in the games he is able to evade high attacks because his character model is so low. same deal with jumping attacks. it's trying to incorperate the 3rd dimension into his moves.

The spine breaking in his animations is actually good and needed, it makes his moves feel more powerful and is not supposed to be looked at frame by frame and that's why it looks stupid

@@chrispo7610 Actually Terry is not a Shoto, a Shoto is a FGC that uses a Fire Bull, a jumping Uppercut and a tornado kick, Terry doesn't have anything of that.

You know the characters fucked when you get dissapointed because a move doesn't make his entire model invincible
Terry is a shoto late into the Orochi Saga games of KoF (Rising Taco became a DP motion for a while), and in the Maximum Impact games where Power Dunk is straight up just has invincability and a good angle for anti-airs.

You know, blujay released a much better hit box visualizer a while ago, it’s a lot cleaner and more readable and it has wind and reflector boxes as well u should use it. It’s also part of the new beta of training mod pack

There are a hundred valid things to complain about with this character. Hit boxes are not one of them. Compare these to any other smash characters and you’ll see it’s totally normal
Nah that's actually just wrong, his hitboxes are much more generous than literally every char. You can't tell me sheik hitboxes and kazuya hitboxes are even close to similar lol

All Kazuya’s abilities honestly make me think he is the first DLC character that absolutely needs a Nerf. I know the other DLC characters have their own mechanics that are cheesy but Kazuya is straight up unfair.
I think he's unfair in specific matchups. Campers and sword character do pretty fine.

Kazuya may sit in that same unfortunate spot Bayonetta sits, where character design dictates you either languish in the bottom tiers or outright break the game. With a middle ground that exists on the same plane of existence as a paid off school loan.

I think the jumpsquat is a HUGE weakness in this game, especially considering how many massive, safe attacks you have to jump over. He needs the invincibility to play neutral competitively imo... his punish game is ridiculous for sure but I think it's a bit too early to make definitive statements either way!
@@WhyDo I suppose. I think the punishes are the major factor since I have had to play EXTREMELY carefully in all my matches against him. I can’t use jabs since he super armour them. And I can’t hit his shield or he gets a free 45% from the 10 hit combo straight out of shield.

But of course I'm gonna tend to edit from my own perspective and that's good for me to remember! I think I definitely could have given everyone else's voices a little more room to breathe.
