Great job getting those Boss cars out and back home where they can be preserved. I bet that was in the high desert which helped to preserve those cars.

I had a 1969 Boss 302 Eliminator ... I certainly miss it a great deal. I bought it new in Panama City Florida in early 1970. It was yellow with white interior ... Here's hoping you get the sexy cat back on the road.

I actually looked at these two cars a little over 10 years ago. You are loading them up a few miles outside Riverton, WY. A friend of mine ( he didn't know what exactly they were ) told me about them and I made a trip up to look at them. My friend and I did a very short once over. At that time the owner wouldn't even put a price on them.

Guys... Looking at the Owner's manual info written in at 53 seconds in... As I am sure you know by now.....SHOULD have had a "V" code 3.91 Track-Lok rear axle with N-case and 31 spline axles... The speedometer reducer unit you pointed out still on the tranny points to either factory 3.91s or 4:30s. My W-code rear axle 1970 BOSS 302 had 4:30s, N-case, 31 spline axles, Detroit Locker and that reducer too, with the engine oil cooler up front. Looking at the "bathtub" in the end of the axles I can tell you it's a standard 28 spline axle set. Full face but not nodular N-case carrier could have come from a lot of other applications, like a 1/2 ton truck, a big ass heavy boat with a big block up front, etc. Sadly, a LOT of performance street cars during/after the Arab oil embargo of 1973-1974 and soaring gas prices/gas rationing, forced a many owners to swap the rear axles/final drive ratio from VERY low gearing like the 3.91s/4.11s/4.30s to more freeway/gas sipping ratios of 3.00 to 2.79. Sad. Hope you guys got the missing rear end parts located for your restoration. :) Randy C-17A

@@thecougareliminatorden1622 GREAT you located a correct rear end for your project! Was that block in the trunk the original one for the car? Looking forward with great interest on your update video! Would love to follow your adventure as you go along... In a past life I was a big FORD nut in the late 70s and 80s. Once owned a 71 BOSS 351, a 69 BOSS 429 project car, two 70 BOSS 302s....one a project and one a complete, original, good driving W-code car that's now in Australia. Loved them all for what they were.....and are today. If I told you what I paid for them each back then (and sold them for too) would blow your mind. Still blows mine. :) Randy C-17A

I love these cars. Sold my 1970 Cougar Eliminator 351-C, auto in Yellow to my cousin, 100% complete. One of the few collectible where the higher displacement (351-C) has less than a small block (Boss 302). I had to choose between my 1968 Ford Mustang GT fastback in Highland Green and pony won out.

i always hesitate to offer advice to someone doing a job and posting videos but being very old, 81, and having done just about anything auto related since 1955, i just wanted to offer a little bit that might make the next load easier. i don't like things like fix a flat for several reasons, but a gas powered small compressor and a big can of slime will make some of the worst tires roll to get loaded. also the 4 1/2 bolt pattern is the same for most ford, merc, dodge cars and small trucks, chrysler, plymouth, and many other makes, for when you are looking for something to load with.
