"I can never hit Gerrit Cole except the times when I crush him"
Love this comment
this matchup is fun to watch and good for the rivalry I’m glad we are gonna get to see much more coming soon
Bro I’m a Sox fan but that swing by raffy when it was at his feet was funny as hell. I’m glad he’s kinda over that now
7 for 21. Not bad for facing one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Especially when 6 of those 7 are dingers
7 for 21 is really good that's .333 batting average with 6 home runs 💀
I watched devers hit his 2nd homerun off Gerrit Cole's changeup, it was genuinely just crazy. Anytime I see a mound meeting before a Devers at bat I call it a Raffy Press Conference
4 more years of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First half: why does he keep chasing those balls in the dirt???
Second half: oh my
A .333 average and a .523 OBP with 6 dingers? Devers probably wishes he could face Cole every game.
Lol 333? Not even close
@@joan.97 7 hits in 21 AB's is a .333 batting average. It's pretty simple math. lol
@@joan.97u slow?
@@joan.97.306/.375/.917 slash line… that’s a 1.292 OPS…. In 40 PA…. Devers owns him…. Forget the 14 Ks….
you can visibly see when cole lost his sticky stuff in this video LOL
No you can't. Editor saved all the Homers for the end of the video. It's not like he homered in all of his last at bats😂
Time to update this mate
Haha, this off-season I will re-do it with the updated at bats
"In the Hall of the Mountain King" would go along great to this as the video goes from Cole handling his business to completely unraveling.
The movement on Cole's pitches aren't anything to write about (Cortes is my boy!) , but he really paints the edges. That fastball up and away (in or just outside) is merciless.
the angle from which he throws also makes his pitches better
@@Ben-ee2xy Nice. I see it now. Thank you.
I love Nestor too, the best weird delivery, slow pitching and Mustachioed Menace in MLB history
Maybe before they buckled down in the sticky stuff lol
I mean is curveball is in the 86th percentile of the league, so it moves pretty well
Devers has 7 career HR off Cole that's pretty impressive and i love it
He crushes !!!
Pretty balanced id say, Devers somehow drives balls that should be left alone.
so in total, I got Devers going 6 for 23 against Cole.
Slashline of .233/.324/.833 for and OPS of 1.157 for Devers against Cole. Very good but Cole pretty much turns him into a three true outcome machine.
Most of the pitches he hit for a homer were down the middle
Absolutely true - He did not hit well one pitch that had good movement on it as in the first 2/3 of the video.
It's still Cole's fault for not having good control and throwing it down the middle.
Let's see what happens in WBC
is anyone else getting a sudden large amount of gerrit cole videos?
Actually yes lol
That devers is scary but I think we got this💪🏼
If the bases are clear it won't hurt to much lol
Porque no ponen los palos 🧐
As a Yankees fan, safe to say that Devers is Cole's daddy.
You missed the 2 walks Devers drew in the 2021 Wild Card game that basically cost Cole his outing
This was just regular season
14ks is alottt
Devers definitely got better at hitting fastballs in 2022. He does chase quite a bit, though a ball anywhere near the zone could leave the park.
Just Raffy taking batting practice with his son pitching
Haha
14 Ks in 30 at bats, yeah nice practice
@@joan.97 with 6 dingers and 4 walks, very nice batting practice indeed.
After 2022 Cole relishes in his efforts to embarrass Devers at the plate .. 😂
Devers has an OPS of 1.292…. Who’s embarrassing who? Forget the 14 Ks
Raffy homers are beautiful
but so is 6 hrs lol
14 ks, 6 hrs, cole owns him lol
lol u think k's compare to home runs? devers clearly owns him
7/21 with 6 HR's and 4 BB's? That's pretty great for the hitter. A .333 BA and a .523 OBP. He'd win the MVP if he faced Cole every AB. lol
.233/.324/.833 for an OPS of 1.157. Walk rate of about 12% and he’s averaging a HR every 5 ABs. The strikeout rate is still very bad but calling this matchup anything other than Devers absolutely dominating Cole is a joke.
i dont think he watched the second half of the video after cole lost his sticky stuff
@@NoatheLAPTOPnerd01 nothing to do with sticky stuff, they just saved all the HRs for the end of the video lol
Where's the 6 homers
Did u watch the video, 1:56 lol
@Gruntbaseball haha I know right
Murakami Will be a Yankee also Trevor Bauer othiani scherzer Machado
0:56 "Ball four just low...." Are you blind???
So the guy knows how to pitch to him. Good hitters need to be tested with good pitching. Obviously they'll crush them out if you're pitch good balls
