I have a five year age gap between my kids and I absolutely love their dynamic. When she was a newborn and crying in the car he said “I’m sorry you’re having a hard time” he dances with her and twirls her and picks her up, he likes being a role model and teaching her how to play with her toys (shape sorters etc) and it’s still a really close bond it’s just a different dynamic since he’s so much older he has so much grace and it’s amazing to watch him speak so much love into her because he’s been spoken to with so much love (not just tooting our own horn we have great public schools and teachers). All that to say, if you want to take a break take one. I know we all have timelines we thought we’d follow but taking a long break between kids to get to know them and let them be the youngest until they were ready to be the oldest was the best thing I did. We’ve made amazing memories and my marriage is strong and I don’t feel like I’ve ever been in a season that was too hard or overwhelming. I know some people will feel ready sooner but I’ve had so many friends say things like “five years is way too long I want my kids to be close” meanwhile their kids are pulling each others hair and mine is telling my other one it’s okay to cry. I think it’s silly to put pressure on it but totally fine that different families feel ready at different times. I think people forget how little a five-seven year old truly is. Theyre still growing up together.
My last two pregnancies I got pregnant when my youngest was around 2. It’s a great age gap! I was far enough removed from newborn/baby stage that it was exciting to go back to it, and my youngest was still young but decently independent by the time baby was here.
Hola Allison!! ❤ Es una maravillosa idea regalar entradas para un espectáculo o comediante, tiempo para los dos, me alegra!!! Un abrazo y gracias por compartir tus regalos!!! 😊❤ Un abrazo!!! 😊
Folding laundry while watching and why did I pause and lean into my phone to look at the labels closer when you showed them like I was going to give my opinion 😂
I have taken my grandkids (twins, boy/girl, 19) to 2 concerts. We’ve seen The Eagles and Stevie Nicks. (They knew all the lyrics to all the songs, so proud!) Anyway, asked my grandson what he would like for Christmas, and he said he’d like to go to another concert. I said I could get him 2 tickets so he could take someone, but he said he’d rather go with me. 🥰❤️❤️❤️. I know it’s because he knows I’ll buy dinner and the tshirt, but that’s ok. How many grandmas have grandkids that want to hang out with them?
I LOVE that! Definitely thinking of getting Maddie an "experience" gift for her birthday this year instead of a lot of toys! The memories are priceless!
@ When my granddaughter was 12 I got us tickets to Wicked. She was in chorus and always competing. When she opened the tickets, she looked up and said “Are we going to see WICKED????” I nodded and she burst into tears to tears! We had the best night and it’s one of my favorite memories. Experiences are always remembered more than things. This summer I’m taking them to MI, where I’m from, for a week on the lake canoeing, swimming and fishing.
I was someone who wanted to create colourful themes with wrapping paper and ribbon and labels. It took me 3 years to use it up. What is great you have the peace of mind when buying only what you need. I can still be creative with less. Love your wrapping- very creative and Christmas vibe. You guys are so well organised. Christmas time sounds fun. Thanks for sharing ❤
Nashville has the Music City Grand Prix every year. I don't go anywhere near downtown (because I live here...lol), but it could be a good experience for you. I know tons of people love it because its a road course through downtown.
Netflix has a series on formula 1 called drive to survive that is great. It’s starts with the 2019 season and is up to the current one. That is how my partner and I became invested in it. Great behind the scenes series!
The ticket idea is sooo good. I wish so badly I could do that, but both our families aren't reliable with visiting us as a military family. We haven't had a date in over 2.5 years 😂😂😂 I'm hoping for our 10 year anniversary next decemeber we can finally get a date hahaha Happily holidays, Allison!
