@@helenhallwood3580 it’s not the guards job to repetitively tell rude tourist not to stand in the box or touch the horse. They are not at Disneyland but at the Royal Horseguards for the King. Essentially soldiers. People in general should have manners behave themselves especially when visiting a foreign country. Or even in their own backyard. They are not minders for badly behaved people. That’s what parents are for.

However they aren't going to continually watch their horse and see who touches it and for how long because they have their own job to do. Plus some tourists will play on that constant letting off. One family wanted each family member to get a video of the soldier shouting at them and they goaded each other to annoy the guard. Infuriating. They need more Ormondes to nip at the rude tourists more and make them know their place. ;-)
The guards in general are sloppy. Watch the guards(red coats and bear skin hats) they are sharp and are true representatives of the King. These guards are very poor representatives. I am embarrassed for the King.

Some of the guards look like they’re asleep, some of them look mechanically to the left to the right to the left to the right, and totally ignore the people standing inside the box right under their noses. You would have to be blind not to notice the tourists. Are they in the Military or not? If so you must follow the rules or expect some type of discipline. This is not a good look for the British Army. Wouldn’t happen in the USA because rules are meant to be followed or there are major consequences, disciplinary action or discharge.
I definitely thought it was all lost. When I saw the first shift Life Guards not really enforcing the boundaries.. The first group of tourists were terrible. No disrespect intended. The first two kings guard are wonderful,they make sure the lines are followed but the best of them all is the very first Kings guard on the left when you are facing the palace.He have all my respect,he make sure that even an inch step is not allowable.Now the lovely horses are less stress and peaceful in duty.Great job Trooper horse and the Kings lifeguard👍👍👍

I think that the guards have forgotten the cameras in the ceiling of their boxes and the powers that be can see that they are not doing what they are supposed to ie: keeping people out of the box on the sidewalk.

The guard with the beard is not enforcing the rules at all. People are posing next to the horse, he says nothing. Just observed the other guard. He isn't enforcing the rules either. Some tourists see others standing next to the horse and are doing the same. I don't know what these guards are guarding. It's laughable.
The guards that are not enforcing the rules should not be aloud back in the and should have to clean the stalls and all the tack for at least a month . If you're not doing your job or want to do the job you should be fired or you should quit .

Of course in todays world, everything is handled with kid gloves as to not offend the feelings. NO BACKBONE..... This guard just undid everything that the thousands of us fought for with voicing our concerns to protect HIM and the horse. For the ones of us and I believe there are many who wrote to the household Calvary, mod, London district to demand changes at horse guard and they did make changes but this display by this particular guard set everything back to square one. He should not be allowed to be out there if he can't follow the rules and people who say that the guards can use their own discretion. I call BS. The rules are no touch and those painted lines are there for a reason. These white lines are used in the court yard and tourists when the horses are out are told to be behind the lines, the same goes for outside. The guards who tell the tourists to go behind the lines don't shout at them, they tell them on a normal voice. I am so heart broken after all of our work to see this guard just throw it in our face. Why bother having the horses out there all together. Guess household Calvary will be hearing from me once again if this BS continues. No excuses for this guard when the others follow through.
Well said..the main purpose was to protect the horses from hands all over it and getting in the way, stressing the horse, the soldiers have a voice ( ?) The horse does not..and it looks such a mess all standing around in a crowd... Some people are rule breakers or think they are privileged look at how they go 60 with a hour speed limit or when they deliberately run a stop sign, park in handicap spot when there is nothing wrong with them. They go to court pay their fine and do it all over again. Some are just to ignorant of what the sign says .

That woman @540 knew she wasn't supposed to be inside that box, but kept getting closer and closer to the horse until she was almost on top of him. As soon as she saw the soldier she high-tailed it out of there. I don't understand why the guard will not say anything to them. He is making it harder on the rest of them who do follow the rules.
The bearded Trooper on the left, who sat there and watched as people stood right next to the horse, was replaced by the one who had been on duty for the very first hour after the horses return. He told the tourists to stay out of the box both times. I recognized his voice. I wish all the Troopers were as keen as he is. 😊

The Guard is only going to catch every single one that does not stay outside the box if he is continually looking down all the time. That is not possible. He is also supposed to be looking all around him. For the most part it is working well and keeping EVERYONE at a respectful distance but there are bound to be one or two that escape unnoticed.

Saw a recent video where a woman walked up and started petting the horse, and a fellow member of the public told her she shouldn't be touching the horse, but the guard had a go at them saying my horse my rules.....sorry, but it's not your horse and they aren't your rules!!

Ok the first guard was derelict of duty in not protecting his horse by ignoring the tourists standing blatantly in the box. He blindly allows people to break the rules. Since there isn’t a sign posted advising about the white lines then it is up to the Trooper to inform the public. This guard is a joke and should be reprimanded or relieved of his post. Now, on the other hand, the guard who came after him honored the rules and did his duty as expected. He is a true credit to the British Military!

The first two kings guard are wonderful,they make sure the lines are followed but the best of them all is the very first Kings guard on the left when you are facing the palace.He have all my respect,he make sure that even an inch step is not allowable.Now the lovely horses are less stress and peaceful in duty.Great job Trooper horse and the Kings lifeguard👍👍👍

I think that the guards have forgotten the cameras in the ceiling of their boxes and the powers that be can see that they are not doing what they are supposed to ie: keeping people out of the box on the sidewalk.

Some tourists see others standing next to the horse and are doing the same. I don't know what these guards are guarding. It's laughable.

The guards that are not enforcing the rules should not be aloud back in the and should have to clean the stalls and all the tack for at least a month . If you're not doing your job or want to do the job you should be fired or you should quit .
You do know they are active soldiers, you couldn't fire them for that. They could talk to them and ask them to tell people. People in the comments now going overboard when things have actually improved so much.
@@cathyb46 First off, if they are government soldiers, as in the military, you don't suggest or ask them. In the military, soldiers are ordered not asked to follow procedures. Of course in todays world, everything is handled with kid gloves as to not offend the feelings. NO BACKBONE..... The rules are to be enforced and the guards are there to make sure they protect the King and the property, that includes telling and on occasion shouting at these ignorant people to obey. If they don't understand English, then they should have an interpreter with them to explain the rules.

I just think people are getting too worked up after all just came in on Wednesday. There has been alot of improvement as seen in other videos.

This guard just undid everything that the thousands of us fought for with voicing our concerns to protect HIM and the horse. For the ones of us and I believe there are many who wrote to the household Calvary, mod, London district to demand changes at horse guard and they did make changes but this display by this particular guard set everything back to square one. He should not be allowed to be out there if he can't follow the rules and people who say that the guards can use their own discretion. I call BS. The rules are no touch and those painted lines are there for a reason. These white lines are used in the court yard and tourists when the horses are out are told to be behind the lines, the same goes for outside. The guards who tell the tourists to go behind the lines don't shout at them, they tell them on a normal voice. I am so heart broken after all of our work to see this guard just throw it in our face. Why bother having the horses out there all together. Guess household Calvary will be hearing from me once again if this BS continues. No excuses for this guard when the others follow through.
Well said..the main purpose was to protect the horses from hands all over it and getting in the way, stressing the horse, the soldiers have a voice ( ?) The horse does not..and it looks such a mess all standing around in a crowd... Now it would have been easier to manage..the horses would not be crowded and touched..However if the Guard remains silent, what on Earth was it all For???!!
Some people are rule breakers or think they are privileged look at how they go 60 with a hour speed limit or when they deliberately run a stop sign, park in handicap spot when there is nothing wrong with them. They go to court pay their fine and do it all over again. Some are just to ignorant of what the sign says .

That woman @540 knew she wasn't supposed to be inside that box, but kept getting closer and closer to the horse until she was almost on top of him. As soon as she saw the soldier she high-tailed it out of there. I don't understand why the guard will not say anything to them. He is making it harder on the rest of them who do follow the rules.

The bearded Trooper on the left, who sat there and watched as people stood right next to the horse, was replaced by the one who had been on duty for the very first hour after the horses return. He told the tourists to stay out of the box both times. I recognized his voice. I wish all the Troopers were as keen as he is. 😊

The Guard is only going to catch every single one that does not stay outside the box if he is continually looking down all the time. That is not possible. He is also supposed to be looking all around him. For the most part it is working well and keeping EVERYONE at a respectful distance but there are bound to be one or two that escape unnoticed.

Saw a recent video where a woman walked up and started petting the horse, and a fellow member of the public told her she shouldn't be touching the horse, but the guard had a go at them saying my horse my rules.....sorry, but it's not your horse and they aren't your rules!!

Ok the first guard was derelict of duty in not protecting his horse by ignoring the tourists standing blatantly in the box. He blindly allows people to break the rules. Since there isn’t a sign posted advising about the white lines then it is up to the Trooper to inform the public. This guard is a joke and should be reprimanded or relieved of his post. Now, on the other hand, the guard who came after him honored the rules and did his duty as expected. He is a true credit to the British Military!
I'm happy to see the horses more relaxed now they can't be touched the white lines are a good idea there should be officers there to make sure they don't cross the line
