Wow FIVE bottles of Penhaligons! What a dreamy gift. I discovered Penhaligons when I came across the charming little book A Victorian Posy which was written by Shelia Pickles of Penhaligons. It was so fun to watch you open the box. Thank you for sharing your special moment with us. Sending greetings from the USA. ❤️🇬🇧❤️

2:37 Beautiful, well crafted illustrations, however, at this point I am perplexed by what appear to copper topped ampoules of liquid? Some kind of fragrances?? Anyhow, I hope that you have a very long, contented life and that many decades from now this gift shall be a reminder to you of this moment in time. 4:40 The retro, Victorian era illustrations on the box I have loved for many years. Real, artwork, that a talented artist created not with computer software, but with a vision and pen and ink.
10:21 I can't get over the gorgeous 1890s art work, even the wrapping paper is wonderful. Christmas time I go online searching for above and beyond gift wrapping paper with old retro illustrations, I have found good stuff, but nowhere near as fine as this wrapping paper.
I am quite surprised, I was expecting a wonderful new rose plant to be in that box, but these things shall go with you your entire life whereas the roses can die depending on what circumstances come their way.
Well, this was quite memorable, thank you for sharing!
    Ralph in Ohio.

Ralph, dear Ava and I send you love. Thank you for the steady and most wonderful messages. Always a joy to read. And I love to learn the progress of your beautifully managed and loved garden. I’m so excited for this growing season and I can’t wait to share more content with you. I thought of you, recently, Ralph, whilst at the garden centre. ❤️
Look after yourself and stay fabulous!
Ps - I too like to wear my old clothes whilst gardening. That’s when I feel most comfortable and at my happiest, in my garden. X

@@darren-harwood ♥♥ Thank you Darren for your kind words. Obviously if you get a large number or responses it becomes physically impossible to reply to them all, so I DO appreciate hearing from you, Ava and your garden. I am wishing you splendid weather this growing season.

10:44 Yes, lot's coming, soon our roses shall be lighting up! My Souvenir de la Malmaison passes wintertime in a 45 degree Fahrenheit room in a massive pot, she alread has flower buds of generous size coming on, she survived a terrible bout of powdery mildew. She is a Bourbon, so, unlike many old heirloom roses, she blooms all summer long {the stiffling heat of August and September slow her down, but mid September she gets her "second wind" and blooms generously once she is no longer languishing in heat. I water all of my container plants with rain water, untill drought comes, then I must use well water. So, soom the sights and fragrance of the roses shall return to gladden our souls!
