Welcome to Cebu City, Philippines. Their breakfast buffet is also a filipino "pinoy" authentic cuisine. Tocino, tapas, dilis and sometimes danggit, lugaw( bisayan congee), champorado, native delicacies like puto, cuchinta, suman serve with filipino hot cocoa. They also serve local fruits to try. And don't forget if you 're a coffe drinker, need to try local native coffee too.

those aren't baby limes (although similar, and funny enough because it's name means "little lemon"), but it is called "calamansi" and is meant to be squeezed on the food if you see it served with it. it's also partnered with soysauce for a traditional dipping sauce in the country

New subbie here. Mabuhay! Here in the Philippines we are so used using fork and spoon instead of knife and fork. You'll notice it everywhere. Our rich culinary cuisines are a mixture of east and west. There's Malay, Chinese, indian, Japanese, Spanish, Mexican and American influences. Depending on the region though like there's a particular region that likes coconutty and spicy dishes while some likes seafood dishes and others like all veggie dishes. The Philippines is a melting pot of culture since time immemorial. I hope you can visit Manila too

Use the spoon. IT IS THE MAIN utensil in Filipino dining. The spoon is used to chop off the food instead of the knife. The knife is actually non essential. Use the fork for picking ang pushing the food/rice to the spoon.

Watch how Filipinos eat two-handed using the spoon and the fork to scoop the food bits onto the spoon with the fork. No need for a knife if you use the edge of the spoon like it was a knife to slice the meats. Try it and after that you can eat with your hands "kamayan" style.
