Networking is a great (probably the most important) tool for landing at dream jobs. 70% jobs are not listed online. They need to be grabbed through word-of-mouth. Hope it helps !
I just applied for my IEC at old age of 29 (it’s open until 35 for Irish Citz and I’m a dual national so I can get 4 years). I have to do biometrics in Paris as Dublin closed down and I’m in France anyway. Now it’s real, I’m slightly freaked but this video was very comforting
@@Emma-py8qe no availability and I was in France anyway. In fact I had to go up to Paris from a completely different part of France a week earlier than I originally was suppose to be in Paris
I'm currently looking at doing a work visa in Canada as well but don't know where i would go, calgarys has caught my eye at the moment but just don't know🤦♂
Hi Emily, thanks for doing this video. I found it really informative as I am looking at Canada as my next place to work in the mountains. With covid and also post Brexit, its looking really hard to work in Europe now as a Brit and I know that the IEC/Working Holiday Visa gives you a longer period of stay. What is the work you do in Canada and whats your experience been like? Subscribed to your channel also, thanks Matt!
Hi Matt! You’re so welcome-I’m glad you found it useful! 😊 The IEC visa really is brilliant. I don’t have much experience with mountain jobs, but I believe there is a large community of International seasonal workers in places like Whistler, Banff, etc.
hello, i have a IEC visa to work in Canada for 6 months and i have this visa from January 2021. My question is: can i go to Canada and find a job there or i have to get an offer from my country before i move to Canada? thank you.
This vid was great! I'm trying to get my boyfriend over but since its during pandemic it will be quite difficult! What would you recommend in terms of recruitment agencies that take on foreigners?
Im glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately I don’t have much experience in that area in answer your question, but I know in the big cities like Toronto and Vancouver there are lots of recruiters that specialise in temporary contracts which are great for newcomers or people on the working holiday visa :)
@@combatsportsontour6503 I worked out what I needed to live each month and saved up enough to last me the amount of time I thought I wouldn't be working :)
How long roughly did it take for IEC to offer you an ITA (invitation to apply)? I've just recently become a candidate for the Working Holiday pool and my application status states I need to wait for an ITA... I've watched other vids on here saying it takes longer for applicants from the UK, so just wanted to know how long it took for you? Thank you in advance! :)
My recent video explains a little more about this, but I got very lucky and was pulled within a couple of weeks. For some people it takes much longer (it really depends on when you apply) Hang in there! :)
@@EmmeSait Ah okay thanks I'll deffo check out your more recent vid! I don't mind waiting a while as I don't want to rush the process at all. Thanks again for sharing this content, its super useful!! :)
@@sim._.dhillon Hi, have you received an invitation in the meantime? The IRCC website states that the 2021 season is over and I’m wondering if they will even process my application that I started two days ago, or if I’ll have to wait until the next round in the beginning of 2022?
@@user-px8yl5dv9c Hi there! I applied in early Winter 2021 and still have not received an ITA. I’m looking out for an update but I have no clue when they will start sending out invites again. Guess it’s just a waiting game from here. Wishing you all the luck for an ITA in the near future!!! Best wishes 🍀

Wouldn't London have been closer? That's where I did mine a month ago

Do you have any examples of temporary work positions which might be transferrable into different, more long-term jobs?

Hello Emily....
Job offer is necessary for IEC program????
And would you say a degree is essential for getting a permanent work visa in Canada?

Hi Lucas! I would recommend checking out the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) website for the most up to date information :)
@@EmmeSait yes thank you, i saw it yesterday and yes you need an offer job before to go in Canada, thanks anyway!
Did they cite “Canadian experience” as a way to exclude/reject you for some jobs?
I don’t remember exactly, but I believe some positions asked for it.
How easy was it to get permanent residency and how did you do it?
It was hard! It took a lot of time, research, stress, and effort - but so worth it in the end :)

Can you change jobs while on whv? And I am from nz working as a support worker in elder home how’s scope? And wages if you know that would be great
Open work permits (which is what a WHV grants) allow people to change jobs :) I’m not sure about your other questions, though!
