STEVEN N SEAGULLS are one of the best bands I have ever heard.
They are brilliant live and really nice fella's to talk to
I’m from Finland, too. I don’t know what to say. I been watching their videos for some time now. They are country boys I understand. They are performing in heir farm work clothes. But without superstar image, they are performing in US, maybe other countries, too. They are very good with their instruments. They are good example, how to use what you have in your hands to get ahead of life. This encourage those, who are other ordinary folks, not to look what you have not, but to use and enjoy what you have.
These guys are great. They are what they are. Let us all be what we are made for and entourage each others in these hard times.
I love this version! It's so good, Dave Grohl must have heard this by now and I'd bet a pony he'd love it too. Good job.
There's a whole lot wrong with music these days. These guys are a wonderful exception.
@G Man Then how come they're never on the radio or any other mainstream music feed? How come when I bring them up NO ONE knows who the hell they are? The Foo Fighters version has over 2 million thumbs up. This one? 11,000. Huge disparity.
@@lbowsk there are things called niches, some genres of musics are just more in demand than others, its how its always worked, not just music "these days."
@@samshow8462 I'm 64 and have been listening to niche music since the 6th grade. Pretty will versed in that. I am allowed to have my opinion. There's a whole lot wrong with music these days. These guys are a wonderful exception.
@@lbowsk why do you think theres alot wrong with music these days?
After discovering these guys I have reappraised every aspect of my life and the direction it was taking. I am now a better and happier human.
The ChaosEngine exactly this!
Good for YOU! Life is all about reassessing ourselves. Go forth and be happy.
You've just put the right words on what are my feelings about their music. Thanks and go on doing well
Me too......at the end of 2021
Narrator at the beginning for the win. That was awesome!
FINNISH?!?!?!
WTF?!?!?!?
I thought they were from Kentucky.
Oh wait... they have all their teeth. My bad.
Love these guys.
WTF=Welcome to Finland
Is the drummer using SPAGHETTI???
Gotta love that Behemoth playing this tiny-ass Mandoline looking all badass and serious
I think his neon tape was a reference to twenty one pilots' logo? Not sure...
yiftachgebel love it
Its like a miniature modified
'Balalaika/Mandolin' in one instrument ...they are in Finland. The Finnish people are known for refining Russian made weapons (Sako, the world's most prestigious rifle manufacturer. Tikka bolt action rifles and the
Military Valmet its a AK47 Masterpiece of Refinement & Craftsmanship) But anyway...Big Dude Shreds on that little 8 string mandolin . Banjo player too. He makes that banjo sound like a Washburne. LOL
.
.
That, right there, is some true-a$$ talent--Playing the mandolin and "looking all badass and serious." Yep yep yep
They showed one angle where you could see the sore spots & calluses on his fingertips. He's a behemoth & likes to show up late but he definitely puts in the work.
Would have loved to hear more lead vocals from Puikkonen before he decided to leave the band. Such a shame.
Can you make sultans of swing cover?
great suggestion, one of the best songs ever written.
Excellent idea!
Поддерживаю! Отличная песня! Хотел бы видеть в Вашем исполнении ее! Ohh yes! The great song, i'll want to heard yours cover!
My vote goes to this song too, but could it be too epic song? Well, they did Thunderstruck, so hell, do it!
O yes that would be a great choice!
i am a million years old. i was bob dylan's first fan. this is the best music ever.
Perfect as always! Make us proud. Maybe next "Queens Of The Stone Age - No One Knows"
Oh hell yeah! Thumbs up for this.
Let's add some more Grohl stuff: Nirvana. Like, hmm... Heart Shaped Box? Lithium would be great too.
Hell yeh!
Nah man. Breed or All apologies. But I'm with you man. Aaaaaaaaawwwwwe love buzz!
I love the story telling part of the german guy in the beginning. If you speak german its even funnier because of the choice of words that guy in the cheap tuxedo is making :D
Its basically good bantz
JA JA GUT JA
Because I don't, I had to use the subtitles to understand but, Damn...
That had me rollin'.
But Finland is not part of Skandinavia! what an ungerman mistake to make.
I was just in Tampere (eating mustamakkara and drinking cheap salmiakki), then visited some friends in Germany. I was searching for S&S songs to show them and this jewel popped up with the Deutsch intro... sehr lustig.
Still among my favorite covers of any Foo Fighters song. I come back to watch/listen every few months. I still laugh at the host's words at the beginning. Erinomainen!
That drum part in the end was epic! With small means, he made it sound big. He's also a great singer.
Quentin Tarantino is very talented.
It's not him but the son he had with popeye.
Niceee :D
That story about the son he had with popeye was just pulp fiction.
made my day, man. tnx!
has anyone seen the video weird Finnish guy freaks out eating liquorice? swear to god the guy singing is the same guy and it has ruined my life
It is amazing.
It is amazing that every song they decide to remake turns out to be better and more beautiful, I would say with all my respects to the original creators than the original songs. It is ART in its most beautiful meaning.
When I grow up I wanna be a Finnish metal-butchering hillbilly too! You guys... (what's the hillbilly for "rock" again? Ah, of course!) pebble. Cool! Great announcer too. Who said the Germans have no sense of humour?
great stuff ... These guys are excellent musicians and have a good portion of humor
I have been checking on you guys for a couple years already and you guys only get better and better!!! Im a musician myself and you know "we" are very critical of bands that cover others, but when you guys do it in such a way that is fun, talented and addictive... All have its love for you guys!!!
ps: quick question: can anyone tell me the name of the drummers square box he is playing with the sticks? Love that thing!
Ricky
That whole drum setup is called loota percussion, I think (loota is a colloquial finnish word for box.) Google it, the guy who makes them has a website.
Square box
...and the introduction: simply adorable tongue-in-cheek!
This had an odd and incredible emotion too it. Especially in that last bit. Really well done.
So underrated. What an intro or riff or whatever it is. What a take. I never heard the original song and won't ever listen to it again, it's faceless. But this - i have no words. Thank you so much, you help to bear with this effing life
STEVEN N SEAGULLS are one of the best bands I have ever heard.
Perfect as always! Make us proud. Maybe next "Queens Of The Stone Age - No One Knows"
i am a million years old. i was bob dylan's first fan. this is the best music ever.
I adore David Grohl but this cover is Better than original....outstanding¡
Another fine offering! You fellas should check out the music of THE BAND, Leon Helm, Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel. Check out "The Last Waltz". Cheers!
let's get up on our cripple creek ferry and drive good o' dixie down.. ;-)
I was thinking the same thing the minute I saw a drummer singing. RIP Levon Helm
never would've guessed one of the best american bluegrass bands was from finland. much respect sirs. also, probably the best cover band ever.
That drummer is one hell of a rockstar, I wish I could jam with him.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE cover Dire Straits songs like: "Sultans of Swing" and "Six blade knife".
Six blade knife is def. my favourite Straits track. That would be nice (hard to improve upon though).
I'll say it again. They are so so so tight..good job men
Had the great pleasure to see these guys live in Cardiff just before Christmas and loved every minute. I even bought a Hermann hat (bango player) along with 2 of their CD's. If you get a chance to see them go for It, you won't be disappointed. I believe they're currently touring the USA. Looking forward to your next release guys x
Iam amazed !!! Everybody sings and sings very well. Great band. Very good musicians.
wait none of them was late???
Never late. Always right on time.
🤣🤣🤣
But the accordion player is supposed to arrive late
I know right ??? Where’s his boat or sled ?
he talks such a big bullshit.they cover the songs yes.but the arranged and they make her own interpretation of the song.and it sounds good.and by the way.they can play the instruments.today it is very rare.
I think the percussionist should do more singing... just found this band on the Tube, and love them!!!
I would've sworn these guys were from Alabama or West Virginia.
An Dreistigkeit nicht zu überbieten. Besser als das Original zu sein ist Dreist (;
Nice Work Guys!!
As a Foo Fighters fan, this is an awesome cover!!!
Love this bass player so much more than the one I see in more recent videos. What happened to him??
There was a letter from Pukki in their FB-page (or somewhere). No drama there - seems that the constant touring just didn't fit his life situation/aims.
It's incredible, I can listen to these guys over and over again... Proving once again: keep it simple, bring out of it what you genuinely have... like architecture.
I can't get enough of these dudes. Very talented. I bought all their CDs too. More Foo Fighters? More Iron Maiden? Even their own music kicks ass. Love 'em!!
This version kills Foo Fighter ...better by far....very sad when a cover band outdoes the original.
Well. IMO S'n'S is not really a 'cover' band. As I see it - cover bands usually try just to imitate the original to a note. What these chaps do is that they more or less completely rearrange the song - typically adding new elements on the way.
Yeah but too bad they didn't write it
Weil ich bin eine Ami und ich lerne Deutsch, ich habe fast alles verstanden was der man gesagt hat. but anyway These fine young gentlemen from Finland are talented beyond belief. They have displayed our Folk Music what it used to be.
These guys put on a hell of a show and are one of the best live shows I've seen. Talented group of guys!
The lack of epic banjo solo is disappointing, but this is a great performance. 9.99/10!
No worries he will shred again 🤘!!
These are very multi talented Scandinavian boys. The mountain plays several instruments, everyone that sings has an awesome voice. I have all their cds after hearing just this and "ghost town" I had to get them. 10 years ago I wouldn't give these guys a second glance because I didn't have a wide eclectic taste in music then as I have now. Because of these guys I listen to a lot of bluegrass and country too. Keep up the awesome work fellas! Wish for a meet and greet **fingers crossed** that would be so awesome.
Of course theyre from Finland, where else.
I'm Finnish making sense.. lol
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA YOU NAILEDIT!
Knowing how awesome guy Dave Grohl is.. he would probably yell... " F**k.. this is f**king good ! "... a Finn would yell " Perkele.. ei aivan pers***tä !"... awesome cover again.. gotta love .. Seagull guys getting scary good :))) Big thumb up for this :)
need more cowbell. just kidding. great work fellas!
I will always love the foo fighters original cd because they had Pat Smears as rhythm and no one thrashs like Pat, but the main reason is that first album no one knew that Dave Grohl was.... well I'm not a fan great song writer and musician and this song is awesome.
I love this band, and this is their best track yet!
I absolutely love this band! So good! I sent The Trooper to my dad, who usually doesn’t listen to more than what I send him. But about a day or 2 later he texted me and said” dude I love Steve N Seagulls!” I thought he was just bullshiting me because he doesn’t usually like this type of music but then he said “ I love how the big guy always comes in last or is late” that’s when I knew he truly listened to a good amount of their songs. Now every time I play them he says “ thank you for introducing me to them!”
Holy shit this is just perfect! I bet (well I hope) Dave Grohl saw this and he was happy about it!
I f*cking LOVE this. Seriously.
I can't stop listening this song...
First I listened it here, than I bought it (all album), so I'm listening it on my mobile, but every day I come here 2-3 times... I can't help myself...
There is an emotion in this music that transcends all borders. Please bring us more.
Goddamn BRILLIANT!
Love how the German language just sounds angry even when its joyful...
top notch old boys. top notch.
This was a brilliant version of a modern classic rock song. Very, very good job, lads !!
I Love these guys. I hope they go on tour in America.
They've been there a couple of times now drawing huge crowds!
My new favorite cover song from my favorite cover band.
When the teacher is ready to present our group project
This is awesome! Personally like more of those Iron Maden Covers, but this is just awesome! Funny and talented!
Excellent rendition! You guys show how complex this song really is. It proves what a genius Dave Grohl is.
Jesus Christ...These are the real deal!!!!
Pretty impressive band. No earphones in there ears like other bands
Ich liebe den Kommentar, und die Band sowieso!
... my People ...
Making music in the snow..!
Jussi Tikkouri
Haha, Dave Grohl would blatantly love this! Nice work boys 👍🏻
Very enjoyable! You guys are entertaining and very good musicians too!
SO MUCH TALENT
Can't stop listening to this song without any particular reason! Наздравје!
This is talent...………...Wait, I just spoke the obvious
Very, Very good. Congratulation guys!!!
This is a way better version of this song than the Foo Fighters do!!
I bet Dave would love this.
You's are awesome from Australia go hard a lot of people are listen to you keep it up
Amazing !! :)
It's not about a person...it's about the MUSIC...ALWAYS!! Phenomenal !!
Channel, please let the band know that this track will be number 1 somewhere or I will eat their hats. Thanks.
Habe oft gedacht warum singt der drummer? Passt nicht von der Stimme nicht. usw. Aber ein großes JA. es ist der Style von Steve´n´Seagulls. Mita vittu ihana
How music should be played ... yay
don't think I ever clicked so fast on RUclips :D well done fellas!
Hands down their best video. So fuckin crisp.
coolest bass player ever
Man...this is freakin great!
Stylish presenter. Like in good old days TV. Great indroduce and good music. :)
Songs of FF always amazing. But this version, o damn good! :-) (Y)
I love this song, and I REAAAAALLY love Hiltunen. He's the one♥
Bin zum ersten mal auf diesen Channel gestoßen, und wie geil ist denn der Erzähler hahahh!!!
"Yhessä kohtaa lauloin väärillä sanoilla lopussa." = "At one point I sang with wrong words in the end." I think it was Herman saying that.
The great and unforgotten Tony Joe White (1943 - 2018) already knew it in the 1970s when he wrote and performed a song titled: EVEN TROLLS LOVE ROCK 'N' ROLL.
Cf. from Wiki "A troll is a class of being in Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. In Old Norse sources, beings described as trolls dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units,..." ... and love to play music together, needs to be added.
geil!!!! war schon bei 2 Konzerten von den Jungs....Affengeil....
Leipzig und Dresden .....macht weiter soooo
awe Texas girls love steve n seagulls! xoxo!
Ich liebe wie Thielmann die Band einführt, köstlich. Und der Sound is einfach ein wunderschönes Geschenk für die tagesgemarterten Ohren des Alltagsradiohöhrers.
Brilliant!
Diese geilen Ansagen immer :"D
