Gorgeous song, gorgeous message, brilliant singer, songwriter...Sam Fender is a smart young man. Next you should do Seventeen Going Under, Play God, Will We Talk, Saturday, Get You Down, Spit of You the 2 covers at Live Lounge...Back to Black and Breakup with your Girlfriend, I'm Bored and my absolute favourite of him, The Dying Light (Winter Edit). Thanks for this reaction 😊
Sam is one of the few artists that sounds the same live as he does in the studio and I think that showcases his amazingness even more. Seventeen Going Under is great Live. The Borders is also great but theres a good story video to that one 🤘🇬🇧
You got the nail on the head when you mentioned Bruce Springsteen, Sam has said Bruce is a big inspiration of his as is Alan Hull from the band lindesfarne
Oddly relevant choice of song for this week 😬 Seventeen Going Under live at Alexandra Palace is epic. Sam Fender is the absolute King of UK music - there is so much love for his honesty in songwriting. I’ve no doubt he’ll be trying to crack the US before too long.
He admitted being hung over during an interview on breakfast television for the BBC .He had been celebrating with Newcastle United supporters after the club had been bought. ⚫️⚪️
You two should watch queen at live aid… that has to be the best live concert ever.. you will get the best performance by a artist and the reaction from the crowd..
You really really really really need to react to FAITHLESS - INSOMNIA Live at Glastonbury. Please and a please and another pretty please. Then check out John Butler trio live doing Funky. They are Australia but are bloody amazing.
Weird you mention Dancing in the Dark, check his live cover out of it maybe? Honestly, I don’t think there’s any other UK artists that touch his songwriting at the minute. I can’t speak for US music but I can’t think of many/any rock artists that have used the saxophone so prominently to good effect in rock music since Springsteen.
A good live version of Sam Fender is his cover of Morning Glory by Oasis or Seventeen Going Under at the Brits You should also listen to Where We're Going by Gerry Cinnamon
So many great tracks to check out from this guy. Some favourites of mine are The Borders, All is on my side, Spit of you, Get you down and Angel of Lothian.
Thanks for reacting to this. Sam is a fantastic, versatile songwriter. But being a Working-Class "Geordie" (like me), be prepared for a few "curse words". He can go from Alt/Pop/Folk Rock ("Call me Lover", "You're not the Only One", "That Sound", "Will We Talk"). To social commentary about what he's personally experienced or what he sees going on around him ("17 Going Under", "Spice", "Poundshop Kardashians", "Leave Fast", "Saturday"). Or call out the political system that his generation feels has let them down ("Aye", "White Privilege", "Long Way Off"). The rabbit hole goes quite deep... ;)
I love you guys and great reaction but man you couldn’t have paused it at a worse time. Enjoy and feel the music man, when British music slows down towards the end, it slows down for a reason, for you to hear and take in what you’ve heard and felt before the full feelings from that last 3rd till the finish ❤️ this song is a _prime _ example of that
I wrote this guy off but that's the first time I've listened and understood the lyrics, he's got some shit to say I get that, music's a bit meh tho in my opinion.
Alrite Lads, i reckon it's time you need to watch some more football. Please checkpout some Legendary red cards or sometimes a red card is not enough. cheers
There is some Sam live on Jimmy Kimmel in the states on youtube. Pretty good quality too. I always think he like Springsteen and the Killers combined. I would try play god, the borders, will we talk in the morning, seventeen going under, dancing in the dark Springsteen cover, spit of u and howden aldi death que.
