Thank you for explaining in easy to understand terms and steps - I should have gotten to know this earlier to have made better decisions.

What happen if the wife is a homemaker, she will not have Cpf life to rely on. The couple will only have $1,170 to spend. With good and services prices keep going up, life is definitely a challenge.

Approx $2500 for husband & wife upon retirement. What will the amount be if we still need to support our aging parents.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Household Income includes ER contribution of 17%?

Not to worry about reaching 65 and live comfortably with your CPF payout as long as you have job. Just go for BRS and take out as much as possible. Just take half to enjoy yourself and half in investment (do your homework b4 investing) Do remember that you still have your house as an back up retirement sum. After all 2 old couple don't need such a big house, doing housekeeping will kill you. Keywords investing in somethings that give you passive income. This will get you by even your BRS payout is low.
