I did ballet as a child at a private primary school, we were too young to wear proper ballet shoes. I wasn't very good, but the foot positions stayed with me, so as a 61 year old this arthritis, I am able to avoid many falls.
Oh such happy memories! I'm now knocking on 80, but I still have my last pair of pointe shoes, yes Freed's.I've moved house many times, and now live in France. My pointe shoes are in my bedside cabinet and will follow me into my coffin!

I thought bloch and suffolk were also made in the uk last I checked, I know though in the states you only have a few models produced by suffolk in texas and maybe capezio if they started doing their custome shoes in new jersey again, gaynor was but the factory they contracted to closed up in the pandemic and just sold off everything so there is not even a chance for it to come back as far as that goes, and few custom makers left that can do it even if they are willing to, as making the box on point shoes is not like making other dance shoes, or percussive dance shoes like types of clogging or tap shoes thats a bit more straightforward.

@@Charley-bs3iv yea and they do also make some of the shoes in the usa in texas they are the last ones that do here in the usa too though there are a few indaviduals that can make custom pointes suffolk is the last major brand, gaynor's vender closed in the pandemic and did not even try to come back, though the guts of the shoes and insoles are still from usa made parts on most models

Judging by the actions of the Queen of Great Britain, who gave me instructions what to do to be left alone, it can be assumed that she is above the Masonic Priory and terr attacks is all at her will, same as coronavirus

I think the bbc didn’t know Suffolk is a company as it isn’t as major but freed and Suffolk are the only hand made shoes in the uk
