    I had the same problem. Turns out it was the support springs on the top of drum. Replace or move the springs up a notch or 2 each side

      Thanks for the info. I broke it for spares in the end.

    Hi Kev, have you got a vid on how to remve the front panel, I need to replace the carbon brushes on my 1714 but cant get to the motor without taking off the side panels and to take off the side panels I need to take the front panel off and I`m struggling with that. I`ve managed to take the front top panel display off and two screws holding the front panel but cant for the life in me see how to get the panel off, another fixing somewhere but I cant find it ? any advice

      Check out my other video: ruclips.net/video/85jzYGdRY7c/видео.html
      Everything is accessible from the front, it is easy to work on compared to other washers. Ironically, I always thought the point of buying a Miele was so that you didn't need to work on it! They are good but not as good as people would have you believe and if you've paid full price for one then it really needs to go the distance.

    Hi Kevin, did you solve the problem by replacing the drum spider? Bas

      No, I broke it for spares in the end. It had done a huge number of cycles anyway.

    Has the drum support failed? Are there what look like concrete crumbs in the drain filter?

    • @bvqbvq
      @bvqbvq  5 лет назад

      I cleaned out the filter a while ago and there was quite a lot of crud in it. I think that it is quite possible that the drum support has failed. I would have expected the outer edge of the drum to oscillate when spinning but in the video it looks stable. I don't think that it is worth repairing a drum fault, it looks like a lot of work to strip it down so I'll probably strip it for spares.

      @@bvqbvq Hi, the drum support has 3 arms and the noise can depend on where it has gone. Was the crud you cleaned out like concrete crumbs? That is how I suspect the drum support. If its run-of-the-mill crud then perhaps is not.

      @@rmariu I've taken the tub apart and the drum spider is OK. Not sure of the cause of the problem.

      Kevin Stewart really strange. The support looks quite decent.

    I think pcb is going faulty as it ramped up way too fast. Try checking that

    Shocks under the drum one each side or check drum bearings

    broken drum spider

      @bvqbvq  5 лет назад +1

      I suspect that you are correct. Looking at the cost of a second hand replacement it is now worth repairing.

      @@bvqbvq try to use powder detergent and every month have an empty hot wash on 95 with powder + washing soda also leave the machine open so the drum can dry... as a technician i ve seen broken tubs while owners used only liquid detergent and always low 30-40c washing temperatures and that can damage drum spider
