    Thank you. I just rescued 6 Amazon Basics AA batteries from the bin. They were discharged flat in unattended automatic night lights over about 18 months. 3 lights with 12 batteries. Half were chargeable and half not. So now I have 100%. Very satisfying. 2 of the rescued batteries were reluctant to charge but after a good polish on a microfibre cloth on a hard worktop they were good to go. Of course after that I polished them all.

    IDK if it would work for a larger electric scooter battery, but I HAVE to ask, why did you connect red wires to the negative poles and black wires to the positive? That is opposite every battery I've ever seen, and although trying to jumpstart a AA battery is unlikely to be hazardous, suppose someone more visual than verbal connected the wires wrong on a larger battery?
    I was looking for resources on trying to revive a "36v Scooter Battery -7.8Ah" battery, so I'm not sure if I need to 'jumpstart' with an identical battery, because buying a new one to use defeats the purpose of attempting to revive the factory installed OEM battery in a 1Plus EF-100 e-scooter.

    • @OurNewLand
      @OurNewLand  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching. You are correct. I’m very careful with that when jumping car batteries. For a AA, I didn’t even think about it. In fact I normally just use two black wires to jump the AAs, but I decided to get fancy for the video explanation. Thanks for watching!

    • @hatmoney3340
      @hatmoney3340 5 месяцев назад

      It's only technically connected "wrong" if the negative and positive are crossed. I don't recommend you do this but I'm pretty sure if you jump start a car and black is on positive on both cars and red is on negative on both, there will be no negative repercussions. So long as the connection is a consistent circuit I would think it would work just fine. That being said, when jump starting a car, red on positive and black on negative.

    • @Mike-hu8yz
      @Mike-hu8yz 2 месяца назад

      @@hatmoney3340 Just to share some more on car battery charging. With power off when connecting your charger or jump leads always connect the positive red first before the negative black. When disconnecting with the power off always take off the negative black first then the positive red.

  • @cainKuri
    @cainKuri 2 месяца назад

    I can't see the red wire... and the black wire... where they are going ? and they are from where ? where are the other ends of wire attached to?

    • @OurNewLand
      @OurNewLand  2 месяца назад +2

      Sorry about that. Each wire starts on one battery and ends at the other battery. One wire goes from negative to negative, and the other wire goes from positive to positive. I hope that helps!

    • @HowieStephens
      @HowieStephens 2 месяца назад

      It's just two single lengths of wire, one red, one black.
      You can also do this with one wire only. Push the two negative ends ( the flat sides) together, then you can connect the positive terminals with a five or six inch piece of wire.
      He's a crappy diagram lol

    how about eneloop cell that still showing normal 1.3ish voltage on voltmeter, but appear dead to electronic devices (won't power up) and when charging, it immediately shows full or just restart the charging loop infinitely. do you know any trick or is it time to go to waste bin?

    • @OurNewLand
      @OurNewLand  7 месяцев назад

      I haven’t experienced that one yet with my batteries.
      I have a small power bank that does that occasionally. When it happens, I unplug it and then immediately plug it back in. So far, that’s always resolved the issue. I guess if you have cell that keeps trying to charge, it may be time to dispose of it. Good luck, and thanks for watching!

      @@OurNewLand the cells in questions are 2 AAA. i tried jump start the cell with longert time, nothing happened. tried sanding the negative terminal, hoping to remove any resistance layer. tried it on small mp3 player that use single AAA, doesnot want to power up. however when tried on aircon remote and small desk scale (use 2 AAA), it works.
