Suber Production Joe Budden has never laid his hands on a classic that he had anything to do with. MBDTF is everything that Joe Budden will never have the capacity to comprehend.
PHXNTXM will never have the capacity to comprehend? you kids are quick to discredit Joe's discography without listening to it. (BTW I think mbdtf is a classic)
Storyman Joe is a great rapper. Not a great artist. There is a difference. Eminem and Jay Z would be prime examples of what Joe is/isn't. I respect him for his skill level as a rapper, but his discography isn't anything to admire.
A classic hip hip album is when the fans, critics, artist within the genre and artist outside of the genre all agree that an album has set a standard or raise the bar for other artist to try and achieve or surpass for generations to come.
Wayne has the greatest discography in any genre of music. This is not even up for discussion. Tha Carter, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter III, Da Drought 3, Dedication 1,2,3,5, No Ceilings .... and I could keep going. (suffix, prefix, squad up, SFTW)...
#1Stunna I'm a huge fan of 2005-2010 Wayne but Dedication 3 was the first project I couldn't get into, might need to give it another chance. Dedication 5 I don't even remember listening to.
Dark Fantasy transcended top tier music across any genre in 2010. It will simply the best cross all genre's. 808's was crazily influential but to be honest everything Kanye has ever done is influential. I suppose autotunes went on steroids since 2008.
johnkeem103 how isnt it? It is only thr first example of an hiphop album being a piece of fine art with many more came after it, it has 94% on metacritic and everyone else in this comment section is calling it a classic so we have consensus

Lol 808's brought a new sound of auto tune to RAP so I could see someone arguing it, MBDTF sounded like fine art in music form so yea that's hands down a classic Joe.
J Smith well Tpain was a singer so there's that fam. I meant rappers obviously, he influenced a lot of rappers to really rock with it and even triggered Jay to drop Doa cause he was sick of it. My bad that I triggered you over a comment lol
lmfao tpain brought autotune to the game not 808s wtf everyone forgets about tpain when kanye copied pain and wayne was rockin with t pain and using autotune before kanye

Carter 1 and 2 are the only classics along with Dedication 1 and 2 as full bodies of work but one people forget is Lights Out. He really started spitting right there but people didn't respect it.
All kanye albums from the begining are classics, illmatic is a classic, marshall mathers lp, slim shady lp, the black album, blueprint 1 & 2 the gift & the curse,
Kanye had at least 2, MBDTF brought bigger production and people thinking of rap as fine art. College dropout helped show mainstream rap that you don't need to act gangster to be popular.
Graduation, and 808's are not classics. Those 2 albums won't be remembered in the long run, and mmlp is way too inconsistent and incoherent to be a classic. The Blueprint 2... not a classic, nor is the black album.
Lil Wayne The Carter 2 is my second favorite album next to Tupac Killuminati the Don the 7 Day Theory and my favorite mixtape is Gucci Mane chicken talk
Top 5 1. Take care - drake 2. Good kid m.a.a.d city 3.college dropout- Kanye 4.rolling papers - wiz khalifa 5.wild ones - Flo Rida And soon 2014 Forrest hills drive.
i would really love to hear Joe elaborate on how To Pimp A Butterfly isn't even a possible contender as a classic. i can see how only 2 years out he wouldn't want to make any kind of definite answers, but i really think it is an album that will stand the test of time and eventually be referred to as a classic & a staple of hip hop.
LIL WAYNE :CARTER 3 CLASSIC KANYE WEST: GRADUATION CLASSIC J. Joe's disrespectful as fuck... my 10 classics from the last decade. 1. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy 2. Graduation 3. Watch The Throne 4. Good Kid M.A.A.D City 5. Take Care 6. Carter 3 7. To Pimp a Butterfly 8. Section 80 9. Acid Rap 10. Channel Orange
watch the throne was not a classic and had no impact and was also a disappointment as a collaboration between 2 phenomenal artists with one of them being one of the undebatable Hip Hop GOAT (hint, not kanye). Channel Orange is wrong genre. Acid Rap is a no but i'll entertain a well put together argument and I think they're sticking strictly to albums. Take Care was not a classic no impact. Section 80 was not a classic no impact. On second thought I have to give Acid Rap again a no. Though i personally don't care for it much 808's and Heartbreaks was a classic and is probably the most impactful album of the last 10 or so years, having directly influenced the nature of mainstream music. For the worse if you ask me but it still impacted it.
Man on the Moon was a surprise mention akademiks threw in that I actually feel is correct. When I speak to almost everyone I know around my age (20's) who listens to hip hop Man on the Moon was definitely a deeply impactful album. The only Drake album with any impact was Views but Views was ass. His early albums were solid for debut and sophomore album respectively but they were by no means classic. Calling albums of the last 10 years classics means they stand up there right next to the likes of Illmatic, Chronic, 36 Chambers, and nothing in Drake's discography can do that without throwing accidental insult. If you throw in mixtapes you have to add no ceilings.
TBh I agree with you on selection but maybe not in order. They were talking about impact and many times thats correct (MBDTF & TPAB) but there are some projects that are just soo different for the culture and maybe didnt have the biggest impact mainstream but definately in peoples lives (Acid Rap & Channel Orange). BTW, all kanyes albums classic because he the goat. Plain and simple. Although there is an argument for TLOP.
Blueprint, black album, get rich or die trying, section 80, gkmc, tpab, college dropout, 2014 forest drive hill, carter 2, carter 3, idk for take care its debatable, marshall mathers lp are the classic since 2000
Acid Rap - Chance the Rapper To Pimp a butterfly - Kendrick Lamar Good kid M.A.A.D city - Kendrick Lamar Man on the Moon - Kid Cudi Bastard - Tyler th creator Chanel Orange - Frank Ocean Blonde - Frank ocean 2014 Forrest Hills drive - J. Cole My beautiful dark twisted fantasy - Kanye west 808's - Kanye Best Cult Classics - ¯_-¯-_¯- Floss - Injury reserve 10 Days - Chance the rapper Indicud - Kid Cudi Atrocity Exhibition - Danny Brown The Incredible True Story - Logic I'm sure I missed a few (No order)
GKMC To Pimp A Butterfly My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Run The Jewles 2 ( In a Indie madvillany kinda way) 2014 Forrest hills drive Watch the throne The Carter three Marshal Mathers LP 2 The Cool Food and Liqour
Good point about how we listen to music. As is event in the struggle to find classics over the last ten years as less good original music Is heard by the masses.
Take care Good kid mad city Recovery 808 heartbreak MBDTF Born Sinner Forest hill drive watch the throne Channel Orange Carter 2 and 3 The Massacre All love lost
Kanye West put justin Vernon and chief keef on the same song ( hold my liquor) if none of you understand how powerful that song is then I'm ready for the apocalypse. YEEZUS IS THE CLASSIC
Yeezus was musically dope, but not hip-hop dope if you dig. Life of Pablo is up there too though.New Kanye Rankings. 1. MBDTF 2. Life of Pablo 3. 808s 4. Yeezus. But honestly you look at his fuckin whole discography is classic
***** I would just say that Yeezus had amazing production, that being it's only strong point though. Then again, it's a Kanye album, and if anything is guaranteed with a Kanye album, it is amazing production. So, even then, that isn't saying too much. When you said, "musically" dope I thought of 808s and MBDTF though.
Why do you people sleep always on Wayne like he isn't one of the prolific artist of all time? Why did it take you so long so mention Carter 2? Why did you not mention Carter 3? What's wrong with you people? & You mention all those other niggas? Really akademics? Smgdh
Akademiks: *Names his classic albums*

Yeah..... for a classic hip hip album i agree. But what about a classic hip hop album? Lol.
Agreed
Where did you get that definition?
Malcolm Bosa I forget his name
TPAB, GKMC, and MBDTF are the only 3 classic hip-hop albums this decade.
MBDTF is a classic. Joe hating hard. How can u claim kanyes best album isn't a classic lol
it's like his 5th best album though. Most mainstream work doesnt mean best
Johnny G because its not his best album
Late registration is his best.
Late registration is my fave kanye album. Not his best tho IMO
Johnny G college dropout I'd ye's best album.
Kanye West has the greatest discography in hip hop history. Literally has arguably 6 classic albums (5 definitively: LR, CD, MBDTF, 808, Graduation)

The carter 2 and 3 are both classics
College Dropout is Kanyes classic first & foremost
All kanye albums from the begining are classics, illmatic is a classic, marshall mathers lp, slim shady lp, the black album, blueprint 1 & 2 the gift & the curse,
IX XVII kanye only had 1 classic
Kanye had at least 2, MBDTF brought bigger production and people thinking of rap as fine art. College dropout helped show mainstream rap that you don't need to act gangster to be popular.
U buggin bro... graduation, late registration, 808s heartbreak , my beautiful twisted dark fantasy.
and 808's brought this sombreness and auto-tune infused melancholy music to hip hop
Graduation, and 808's are not classics. Those 2 albums won't be remembered in the long run, and mmlp is way too inconsistent and incoherent to be a classic. The Blueprint 2... not a classic, nor is the black album.
All the Mood Musics are classics!
Dunte'e Silver I agree with you Joe Budden is a legend
Lil Wayne The Carter 2 is my second favorite album next to Tupac Killuminati the Don the 7 Day Theory and my favorite mixtape is Gucci Mane chicken talk
they better fuckin say Carter 2 is a classic!!!!!!#FreeWeezy
There's so much trash bubbling to the surface that anything that isnt trash is considered semi-classic already...

TPAB
These are the musts, anything else is debatable
really take care, and you missed a lot of albums
i would really love to hear Joe elaborate on how To Pimp A Butterfly isn't even a possible contender as a classic. i can see how only 2 years out he wouldn't want to make any kind of definite answers, but i really think it is an album that will stand the test of time and eventually be referred to as a classic & a staple of hip hop.

2. Graduation
3. Watch The Throne
4. Good Kid M.A.A.D City
5. Take Care
6. Carter 3
7. To Pimp a Butterfly
8. Section 80
9. Acid Rap
LMAO watch the throne is not a fucking classic
JDEliteAE how is Joe disrespectful when he is hip hop!!!
GKMC, Take Care, Ambition, Dark Sky Paradise, Cilvia Demo, Control System, Section.80 are some off the top of my head to me personally

Kanye West put justin Vernon and chief keef on the same song ( hold my liquor) if none of you understand how powerful that song is then I'm ready for the apocalypse. YEEZUS IS THE CLASSIC
simbarashe you right bro
Yeezus miles under MBDTF
simbarashe Honestly though, in what way is Yeezus a classic?
Smgdh
Zu Black cause it's cool to hate on Wayne.
Man on the Moon: End of the Day by Kid Cudi is a certified classic. One of the more influential hip-hop CDs of the last 2 decades.
king remembered in time and live from the underground are classics 🔥🔥
