I wouldn’t call that a cliffhanger. I think that was a good ending. It’s not a happy ending, but it finally reveals enough for the viewers to piece it all together. I’d love to see more from these characters, but I don’t want it to be overdone and I don’t want them to interfere with this ending.

I’m not sure if you noticed but after Yellow Guy left Lesley’s room, the camera cut to the toy house; behind it was a door that opened, revealing another set of stairs. It’s likely that the book Lesley gave Yellow Guy was just another distraction to stop him from going further up the stairs and finding out the actual truth for himself. Watch carefully between 23:00 - 23:08 and you’ll see it.
i forget if this was a matpat video or some other video but i subscribe to the idea that beyond the stairs is just the real world and you would meet the creators of the show. i mean who else would be higher than leslie who seemingly is the creator of the house in the fiction
No because the first time I saw Duck sing about his shredder I was crying laughing BY MYSELF like a crazy person. It really did have no business being that funny.
Yellow guy red guy and duck are all characters in Lesley’s toy house that she made based on people close to her that she lost. Yellow guy is based off her son David (hence the D on his overalls, and the coffin thinking it was a service for yellow guy, and had ordered yellow guy’s tombstone). In episode 5 you hear Lesley shout when yellow guy runs into the road after the bird. (In the first lesson on the audio cassette for driving it says be sure to get a personalized license plate. The car’s plate reads Lesley. Also this episode does some more throwbacks: in the bigger boys room they were electrocuting Stain Edwards Forever Boy. And when yellow guy broke the toy of duck right where the second duck was killed.
The reason it doesn’t technically start off from where ep 5 left was because it ended with Lesley forcefully bringing them back home. The final scene plays off where Yellow Guy (David) starts hearing a disembodied voice saying “…no matter how much the wheels turn, the journey always ends up back at home”. After hearing this, we’re cut to the scene of Lesley’s hand dragging the Car they left on back to the house before ending with credits. Basically this is our first introduction to Lesley, why they started ep 6 at the house, and why is starts the Intro in a bizarre manner.
My interpretation: this is all in the mind of lesley, she lost her son in a car accident, so she could not endure the grief, so she locked up in her head as in "brain friends", but her reallity is a Puppet Show where she is also part of the show, she teach kids various lessons but there is a "macabre" aura in all this, duck and red guy are friends of yellow guy, Lesley representative son, thats why he is always suffering because of what she feels also he has a D in his overall, david is the name in the tombstone and yellow guy is the one who dies in a car accident, he also mentions family is a set of people who die at the same time in the similar type of accident but in diferent places, so son and mother died in a car accident but lesley survived, but for the fact she died in some way. since yellow guy is the only one with batteries it means he as somewhat of free will, because he can move and think by himself rather than only being controlled by lesley, so he made a book with his invented new simbolic system to research how to wake up lesley and end this madness, but his batteries runned out and thinking hurts him, the book end up with lesley, she doesnt know how to read it but she knows yellow can, i dont think lesley is evil but she is as disconnected from logic as the main trio because of the powerful trauma she has suffered. thats why the words family, purpose and death resonate so much in the show.

Maybe he runs on D batteries. The batteries were hinted at in the friendship episode, when Dr Bushman diagnosed yellow guy. The diagram that came out of the printer indicated the batteries. Also, when the camera went down yellow guy's ear canal, you can see a few wires sticking out. Also an entire reproduction of their house. But it might also be the first letter of his name. Remember the tombstone?
there are theories where people are saying that yellow guys real name is unknown, but lesley tried making him like david. that might be another reason he is battery activated because she wanted to replace him as david. “why would she want to replace david?” you may ask. well that’s because there is one scene (5th episode, transport) where yellow guy gets a present from someone in the community. and inside of the box there is a bird. the bird flies away into the road, which causes yellow guy to go after it. then, a car hits yellow guy, but while this happens there is a woman’s voice in the background saying “CAREFUL!” which sounds an awful lot like lesley. people are saying that david was lesley’s son, and he died in a car accident causing lesley to cope with the death in many ways, including replacement (like what red guy did to stain edwards in the death episode!) of david. which possibly caused her to create yellow guy, putting his overalls on him, which has a D for david.
Every time one of them dies or goes missing out of the house or something she has a new copy of them to be replaced which is why they don't remember previous stuff. Other than that I have no clue.

I have a theory that episode 5 actually takes place after episode 6, one the thing yellow guy says I have opening basically is what happens in EP six, abd at the end of episode five he recognizes the lady's voice.
There are some hints trying to tell us that it has always been some kind of loop... so what yellow was doing has already happened before cuz yellow already knew some of the symbols written on the cover of the book and maybe when he comes back the same happens and he loses his memories and also duck and red dont notice it happened before cuz they also forget about past episodes and stuff...

Yellow guy is the main intellect. Red and duck are some of his brain friends that he's brought into this part of his mind. The main intellect of yellow guy is a copy, a backup copy of an original. Leslie has many backup copies of all of them. Leslie represents the programmer who is setting out scenarios for the main intellect copies, the artificial intelligences, to run through. Every time one of these backup copies fails, or dies, that's a good thing. That shows progress by weeding out the thousands of bad decisions made by all these copies. Only the copy that is succeeding at the scenario better than all the rest gets to move forward into the next iteration of testing, and becomes the new base for all the new artificial intelligence copies to be based off of. That's why they like the idea of death in the episode of death. They wanted to be dead because that meant progress. In computer programming circles, this process is known as machine learning, or ml. It's kind of based off of evolution. However, like actual evolution, it's kind of blind. It doesn't always come out with the best scenarios, it can sometimes go down a bad rabbit hole and get stuck in an infinite loop where nothing is progressing. That's what we're seeing here, I think. The loop can never be broken, because the ultimate Revelation is seen, but is destroyed in favor of entertainment, being funny. Which might be the task Leslie is trying to have the intelligence succeed at: humor. Mel Brooks said once"tragedy is when I cut MY finger. Comedy is when YOU fall down an open sewer and die." It's funny when it's happening to somebody else, when terrible things beall somebody other than yourself. So maybe in a way, it is succeeding but not the way Leslie wanted it to. She wanted the intelligence to learn what humor is, but it wound up making itself into a joke.
the ending to this show and the original series reminds me so much of the endings to twin peaks. and i think that’s intentional. the way these shows are written feels very lynchian to me
