This is my summer break song. This coming school year I’ll be a senior, but since the summer before my freshman year, it’s been a tradition of mine to listen to this song whenever I wake up on both the first and last days of summer break. I edited the song over a decade ago but to my memory, I did the best to find what they actually sounded like. Messing around with day/nightcore, I realized music sounded best 3 octaves higher or lower, which is about +/- 12%. I likely lowered the pitch about -12%. Am I 100% sure? No. I'd need to know exactly how much they pitched up their audio and reverse that change. But this was the best my 13-year-old ears could hear haha
@@bornarose11 Haha, maybe, now that I know more about EQing. I'm not sure how I'd be able to isolate the vocals, but I could probably figure it out to make just their voices lowered instead of the entire thing. That might require buying a program or plugin that I don't have though 😭

Ive had plenty of time to think on it, and Ive been doing a lot more sound editing on my own, and i do believe theyve done some pitch correction HOWEVER, the pitch correction here, like it is in every song with "autotune" is a stylistic choice. It doesnt mean that the people are unable to sing and need it to make them sound better. Thats a common misconception. Id imagine they chose to do this for this song specifically because the context is them performing on stage as pop stars and that was the "sound" of pop in 2010 or whenever the movie came out. But every song uses pitch correction to fine tune vocals. "Autotune" is just the name of the program. You still have to finesse it yourself. And even still, this song was an old download on an old laptop with an old network. There are errors in the file that wouldnt be there if done today on my current expensive-as-hell editing desktop with 1000 mbps download speed. But I'm not doing that cus Ive got more important things to do in my life than mix a 14+ year old alvin and the chipmunks song to potentially prove a point. 😭 I appreciate the corrections!
this isnt autotune. maybe there's some, but you cant make runs with autotune sound like this. Think of T-Pain and how his voice sounds when he uses heavy autotune creatively.
@@ianrejectNo, some of what you're hearing is vibrato and the effect of me pitching the audio down after it had already been pitched up. They also sang the songs at a slower pace and speed it up (which is likely where the vibrato is coming from since they have to hold the note for twice as long) but I only pitched it down because I don't have access to the original slowed down audio file.
