When he saw this he devoted a ton of time to breeding the Lapras to release them in the wild. When this story became so big, the pokemon company commemorated this act by including this in a later pokedex entry in Moon:
"These Pokémon were once near extinction due to poaching. Following protective regulations, there is now an overabundance of them."

20:27 the final fantasy game that Nomura wanted to make was final fantasy versus XIII, a spin-off of final fantasy XIII. At some point in development the project changed to final fantasy XV, and several years into XV’s development Nomura was transferred to full time director on kingdom hearts 3 and the new director for FF XV changed the game a bunch compared to Nomura’s vision because it was too over ambitious. That is the game he is finally able to see get made to some extent.

NPCs in PLA legit talk about how they have weapons they would have used if need be.. just having their own Pokemon is just much easier to fight back

As someone who decided to try and fish for a Dragonaire in Kalos, I can tell you the poly line breed like crazy and would be considered vermin.
Techinally they went back to gen 2 berrys since they removed the abiltiy to plant spefic trees.

Little correction about Jo saying Gamefreak intended to end Pokemon after gen 2: this is actually a misconception. They didn't intend to end Pokemon after gen 2, they just didn't know if Pokemon was going to be popular enough to continue after gen 2, so they made gen 2 as if that was going to be the end of the series.
Also Gen 3 (ruby sapphire) we originally going to be a hard reboot of the series. No returning pokemon or characters but they decided not to go with that in the end though they didn't place any returning pokemon in the game until after the third city.

I have an ideas to improve the game.
1 Apracorns: That most of the weapons are made of Apracorns.
2 New pokeberries: one type of pokeberry contains a concussive liquid (like nitroglycerine), while the other has seeds used for bullets.
3 Sticky Globs: used in 'Legends of Arcious' but is redesigned to fit a gunfight.
4 Cast System: You can select certain people each with their own special resistance and special abilities. Example: Psychic cast use psychic abilities, Fighters have melay attacks that hurt Pokemon, and so forth.
5 Story: You play as a Pokemon Radical, someone who believes that one day Pokemon would stop obeying humans and turn on then. There is also a legendary Pokemon who believe that if humans are able to fight by themselves it would lead to a disaster that would destroy the world "There was a world where humans lived without Pokemon, thay had a war and it destroyed everything." You are the son of a family of Pokemon Hiders (people that won't or failed to become Pokemon Trainers. They perfer to hid when Pokemon attacks), but growing tired of living as a cowered you join a band of Pokemon Radicals and help them build weapons while this legenary Pokemon sends its servants to stop you.
6 Normal Animals: There are normal animals. They are not as strong as Pokemon but they have human like intelligence. What they do is make a roar and Pokemon that belong to the same caliber as the animal will attack you for them.
I like to add other things to my list.
7: Rotom Weapons - futuristic weapons that are possessed by Rotoms.
8: Joy Guns - special guns that revive Pokemon with a special energy.
