      I did. And it was my first time being ill living alone, all by myself in a foreign country. That was scary as hell and I felt terrible. But I got through it :)

      I had it two times in October! Once my friend from another city came over after she'd beem sick and likely gave it to me, and 2 weeks later I got the cold that had been going around in my city. They were slightly different from each other, but it was awful both times!

    Since Covid, where I am located, people now really frown upon being with others when you’re unwell. Is that not a thing in the UK?

    • @christinejones7721
      @christinejones7721 2 года назад +13

      It is, people are more aware now of how easy it is to pass on viruses and how nice it's been not to have caught every cold/sniffle that's going around! If it's covid-like symptoms then you'll get quizzed about symptoms and avoided like the plague.

    • @Cheeseban151
      @Cheeseban151 2 года назад +5

      It is like that in the UK. People don't really like being around unwell people at all as no one wants to catch it. The government recommend to stay at home if you're unwell even if it's not covid.

    • @laurencimorellibow
      @laurencimorellibow 2 года назад +20

      I do not think going to the training was appropriate. There is no way of knowing of it’s covid or not until days and days after exposure. Then even if it’s not covid why risk other people suffering like you are by passing it onto others

    • @RoxanneLavender
      @RoxanneLavender 2 года назад +3

      @@laurencimorellibow Tested as not covid, symptoms don't line-up with covid, and we all may as well never be around others if everyone's so scared of a little cold. She was able to go out and about a little, so it's not such a bad virus. As someone who's been actually locked-down for the past 2 years except going out maybe twice, i'd love to get my immune system up and catch some little harmless colds, in readiness for when there's a really bad bug going around in the future.

      Frown?You act like having a cold is like having sex with some one..fully knowing you have a bad case of Herpies and not telling the person LOL...people these days and still caught up in this sham of C19

    I love your vlogs. People like vlogs because we want to see how others are living their lives, day-to-day stuff, so this was a good vlog. It's been so long since i got a cold so it's interesting to me to see someone with a cold and their remedies and ways of coping, cool that you got to the training feeling so rough.

    I find that the best thing for a cold is some soup from a Chinese Restraunt as it makes you feel lots better and also helps your appetite. Chinese Soup and Soft Steamed Dim Sims are really good when feeling sick. You should use some Vicks too as Vicks is really good too. Don't you have any grocery delivery places over there??? Get Well Soon😀💌

      We've got a lot of grocery delivery here, all the supermarkets, and even the little shops do home delivery, but nothing same day. We don't have 'post-mates'.

    Oh Bryony. Sorry to see and hear you're not well. My husband and I had the same thing. My muscles were agony and very bad headache which turned out to be my sinuses. So I thought I had the flu but when I started bringing down green mucus, I knew it was a sinus infection. I still took LFT and was negative throughout. There are so many illnesses going around that are not covid, but everyone automatically thinks it's covid, because it's running the world.
    But I really hope you feel better soon, keep warm and drink plenty fluids. Take care. Xx

    I don’t know how long you plan to be off the pill before you evaluate going back on it but expect for your first period off the pill to be heavy. I don’t have any reproductive diagnosis but I had a Mirena IUD for about 18 months and my first real period after I took it out was like satan’s waterfall because I hadn’t shed my uterine lining since a week after it was placed except for a few days of spotting (that I mistook for a period but it was too light) after I had it removed. I know you have had some periods since you when you started it but it’s been a long time without one so you’ll probably still have a bit of a heavy flow.

    Hope you feel better very soon, my husband and daughter have had the cold, and they felt very rough with it too, so far I have managed to avoid it myself, not sure for how long but really am hoping I don't get it as I have asthma and colds make me very poorly, so fingers crossed I don't get it at all.

      When i get sick i have hot and sour potato soup, it really helps. Potatoes have anti-viral properties, that might be why i so rarely get sick, i eat potatoes everyday.

    I’ve suffered from severe sinus issues since I was little, turns out I had a large polyp growing in my right sinus tube. I’ve had 2 ops on it (& I know it’s grown back, but I refuse anymore ops - the last one was horrific to recover from, & they only told me after the more surgeries I have the more painful it is! No thanks). My mum bought me what’s called an inhalation cup from a pharmacy when I was 8, I swear by it - & of course, it’s since been replaced, but I keep my old (& very yellowed from age!) one for emergencies. It’s a little oxygen mask on top of a cup with 2 handles, you just pour boiling water from the kettle half way up the cup, pop the lid on, & breathe in through the mask. It’s essentially like putting your head over a huge bowl of boiling steaming water with a towel over your head (did your mum & dad ever get you to do that?! I know mine did!)
    I also use inside the cup a very tiny pinch of menthol crystals, you can buy these over the counter in most chemists; the combination is a god send & will clear your nasal passages right out (& you can do it as often as you like), failing menthol crystals, use several drops of olbas oil. Menthol inhalation cup on Amazon is about £5! Amazing to keep in your medicine cabinet / kitchen, & when you can’t be bothered to have a bath from exhaustion.. cup is honestly a god send.
    Glad you’re feeling much better now.
    What age group do you foster now Bryony? Are you allowed to mention that? x

    Elderberry syrup (or you can but elderberries and boil them n then simmer on low for 20 min) and drink the tea. Has SO MUCH natural Vit C and other helpful things. Garlic eaten raw (like on bread with butter) is amazing and gargling with very warm salt water is great for the throat and overall. Hope you feel better!

    Always take some echinacea or elderberry syrup for a few weeks before travelling and during your holiday.
    I find this helps my immune system to fight off bugs, 😁
    Pukka brand elderberry and echinacea syrup is organic and really good quality and super soothing!
    Manuka honey too! ❤️
