Thanks! Depends on the boost in particular, some are not that hard while others took hundreds of attempts to get it right. The RNG portions of this run such as enemy placement, enemy damage boosts or getting the Jack Bomb through the gratings in the door on Mirror Image are what took the most time to do.
@@madandy7197 Was you hitting the ant guards with the cards a few times a way to make them throw you faster? I always thought them picking you up was random. Also, I have only played this game a dozen or so times and you beat it so fast this isn't an annoyance to you... But those f'in Beetle bug things that drop bombs constantly are the worst enemy ever. Like holy shit for a casual player like me they were always bothersome. Anyway, this is such a good speedrun it looks like a damn TAS at times. Good for you.
@@jinc.6180 Thank you so much for you words, glad you liked it 😁 The beetles are not really an issue when speedrunning, you're going fast enough even on an RTA run where they have no chance at even hitting you, but for casual play yeah, this game is filled with annoying enemies. As far as ants are concerned, that's actually a technique called Ant Clipping. When they pick you up you are momentarily in a noclip state and if they release you into a solid object you can be flung on top of the world/blocks or go through walls. I use the cards just push them to the right angle where the clip can happen, if you want to see this trick used to the fullest I might suggest checking out my Ant% speedrun on this channel aswell, where I beat the game in 17 minutes 😊
I just got into this game not too long ago, even though it’s pretty old, but i really like it and once i finish it im gonna try speedrunning, the ice staff skips are pretty difficult for me and idk if its because im just bad or because im on console, im pretty sure the jump boost is also not possible on console but im not 100% sure, anyways the game is still fun enough to speedrun without those things, nice gameplay, also what difficulty do you play on? im guessing the easiest since that is usually allowed for most runs of any difficulty based game
Hey! Jumping in general in this game is tricky enough on PC since everything is pretty "slippery" so on console that would just be that much more difficult. But you know, practice makes perfect :) Damage boosting if it's not from the eye staff is very RNG and it's almost not used at all on RTA runs, so I wouldn't bother too much with it. This is a segmented run after all and some of the skips took me hundreds of tries while not saving a whole lot from alt strats. Difficulty is on easy, since bosses can be killed more quickly. If you wanna try speedrunning in AMA be sure to stop by the discord server :)
the skool looks like utter chaos 😭, this run is amazing tho. i wish the alice games got more attention, especially from ea. it's basically lost media atp
That's load clipping. Basically quickly saving and reloading while pressing a directional key can allow you to clip through triggers without activating them.
When you beat the 1st queen the 2nd queen gets teleported into the black box behind the throne for the next cutscene, thus she can be killed before even getting to the final arena.
Thank you! Some skips were found over the years, others recently. We find them by mostly trying out some theories or attempting to shave a few seconds off the time 😊
Thanks! I added extra loading screens for the moments where I use load clipping to clip through triggers. Quicksaving and quickloading is a techique. Each skip in the run is different so, if you want anything about some specific ones I'll gladly explain them =)
@@madandy7197 OK thank you very much :) One of my doubts is how you skip some scenes. (for example cheshire and the rabbit) Does it have to do with quick save and quick load? PD: sorry if it is misspelled but I use the google translator xD I speak Spanish
@@TheLoganuchiha No problem, don't worry =) Yes, skipping cutscenes is basically using quicksave and quickload while holding a directional key to clip through the triggers. It can work for almost all triggers in the game (depending on their size), otherwise for bigger triggers you can use pause clip like i did in Castle Keep.
I like how the first spoken cutscene in the run is Alice reading about diabetic getting-small lolipops. Anyway this run is pretty kickass, it's nice knowing people run this game aswell, but I do wonder how did you get your game to look so good? Ya know, widescreen and a really high field of view. I can set a custom resolution for the game but whenever it saves it crashes (both autosaves and custom saves), I don't know if it's due to the pictures it takes crashing the game due to the resolution (ya know the save file pics, it takes em by itself and stuff) or anyhting else but it straight up crashes everytime it saves. I would've just put the game on a 1280 x 640 resolution that's available ingame (despite my laptop being 1366 x 768), but for some reason whenever I do that it fucks up my resolution and I need to set it back to the 800 x 400 setting. So my only options are to either run the game on a modern custom setting via commands or config altering and crashing everytime I complete a level, or stay with 360 and 4:3 like it's 2000. Yeah I rambled a bit but for some reason resolution is just very annoying on my laptop for some reason and I did wonder if there was any way to fix the issue. Peace.
Actually i just used the 1280x1024 resolution in-game and recorded it as is, I didn't really do anything else. I tried using the highest one at 1600x1200 but it just opens in a window all bloated, so that was not really usable for me (don't really have a big screen myself). Anyway, thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed the run :)

The rocks fall only when you activate the cutscene triggers, which can be clipped through by saving and loading while holding a directional key (like skipping the knife in the first map for example)
Well, basically, by killing the 1st queen before the cutscene is over you regain control of Alice during the first death cutscene. Then I used the dead time watch to give me more time. During the next cutscene the game teleports the 2nd Queen from the final arena to the black box behind the throne, and you have a narrow window of time to kill her, and by doing so activating the end game cutscene. You have roughly 20s worth of time before the queen does an animation which cancels her death and basically softlocks the game, so it has to be done extremely quickly =)

The duchess is pretty simple, the jackbomb got stuck inside her model and was shielding alice from damage. Also note that while the duchess is doing her "eating you" attack, alice does not take damage from anything else, allowing you to be right near to the explosion without dieing. Basically, this allows you to kill the queen during the first cutscene, which triggers the second cutscene during the first cutscene. However, as soon as the first cutscene is finished, it overwrites the second cutscene allowing you to regain control of alice. During the 2nd cutscene the game teleports the 2nd queen inside the black box behind the throne, which gives you a narrow window of time to kill her (activating the end game cutscene) before the game completely softlocks. Of course to kill the 2nd form fast enough you need to use the eyestaff glitch, otherwise it's impossible. That's basically it, hope I was helpful xD
