That guy is not the one gojo was talking about. He was talking about Okkotsu Yuta and Hakari. That guy's name is Geto. Okkotsu Yuta is the one who is abroad. He is the 4th second year that Fushiguro Megumi was talking about in the last episode. Hakari is a third year and is currently suspended along with the other third years.
This is one of the best and most hyped JJK eps. It really shows just how powerful Gojo is that even a special grade curse can't touch him. Man is just as chad.
Almost nothing can faze Gojou, because he never has a reason to be worried. But that doesn't mean he can't be outsmarted. He was pissed off about Yuuji's death because the leaders successfully lied to him about allowing Yuuji to live, and the situation could have easily cost any of his students their lives, not only Yuuji. He's a pretty fast thinker on top of that. He was no doubt still mad when Yuuji stood up, but must have immediately realised he could turn it to his advantage.
yeah, gojo is undoubtedly smart, but he strikes me more like a person that comes up with plans either on the spot or plans only for a very near future. he definitely isnt much of a schemer

One of the things that I find really cool about JJK is how inverts the typical power dynamic between protagonists and antagonists. Normally a villain is the one introduced as being way more powerful than the protagonists in order to create motivation for them to improve, but in the JJK universe Gojo is the absolute pinnacle of power that the bad guys have to plan around and overcome, making them improve their tactics and power the longer they stay alive.

Most reactors that I've seen watch this immediately assume Jogo is weak because of the epic beatdown he gets this episode. They miss that Jogo isn't weak. He just isn't Gojou. Before you worry about the gap getting bigger between Yuji and his two classmates ... you gotta remember that he was lagging behind . He barely made a fist of cursed energy and knows nothing at this point , not even the required basics . His only pluses at that point , Sukuna aside (which oibviously should be relied upon as little as possible) , are his superhuman athleticism

oh man... this episode is such a treat. not a lot happens in terms of story progression, but _everything_ happens in terms of plot setup, and exploring Gojo's capabilities as a character. and it does a good job of getting you speculating about his priorities, and his place in the narrative too. like... it almost seems as though his lax attitude is what nerfs him the hardest. like, Fushiguro, Kugisaki, and Itadori only ended up in trouble last time because Gojo simply can't be everywhere at once, and he thought they'd be okay if he went off and did something else for a moment... Gojo is an ace in the hole, but he doesn't solve everything, and he's still gotta find a way to work around certain obstacles. and yet... that moment when he revealed what his eyes look like was really chilling. also... I'm noticing that every time with JJK... you'll start talking about what you like about it, and I just think more and more about how Dorohedoro would also be right up your alley. like... based on the similarities. this is always a case of "I recommend this in addition to JJK" type of thing, like, JJK is just awesome based on a lot of similar descriptors... it keeps pinging my "related media recommendation" radar.

Since this is Gojo's episode to shine, I just want to give a shoutout to Jogo, a character whose design I thought was a complete joke at first and who I thought would be easily disposed of, actually ended up being one of my favorite curses.
It's actually had been explained before that sorcerers power depends on the person talents, so event if 2 guys started at the same point their power would not be as powerfull as the other person if one of them doesn't really had the talent, and in this world bloodline is a big factor too
Sukuna is technically a bit different as far as Curses go. He's technically a former HUMAN, who elevated himself via sheer ability into an Artificial God by committing suicide at some point or another, as the terminology used goes
Yuji right now is basically a brute. Hes super strong and can fight, he also knows how to create and control cursed energy on a basic level now. But anything beyond that he has little clue. His usefulness is very limited to " look in that direction and destroy anything there"
Gojo's powers are basically Zeno's Paradox--if you take a distance between two objects and infinitely divide it by half, they will never touch because the distances will only get infinitesimally smaller. This is how his powers work, where every time you half the distance between you and Gojo, your speed is cut in half, so you will never reach him. And, yes, Jogo is a REALLY touch curse...but Gojo is basically a cosmic horror entity.
So the "school dude" you thought was the student overseas, was a nice idea.... but sadly this is why remembering names is important. So this dude working with the curses is called "Getou" and the student overseas you are thinking of is called "Yuta" so not the same person. JJK FRIDAY, Let's gooo. Can't wait to see your reaction to Gojo's badassery. Also, as for Gojo's Backstory, we've only gotten hints so far, but season two is set to take place years before, with Gojo as the focus.
Gojos domain essentially provides the victim with infinite information, including infinite amount of useful information that would help them win the fight, but because of the sheer volume of information, your brain can't handle it. It gives the victim an infinite amount of openings in gojo which could be used to win, but because there's so many, they don't even know where to begin. Its like a sensory overload but infinitely stronger, so it just stunlocks you and means you can't do anything. Gojos infinity barrier technique is, like he said, basically not stopping you, but making it so the closer you are, the slower you go. This is sort of like Zenos paradox of Achilles and the turtle, or the ½+¼+⅛+... = 1 proof in maths. Your position relative to the edge of the barrier is like a exponential decay equation, where it tends to 0 but never reaches it, no matter your time/speed. Gojos infinity technique in general is to bring the hypothetical concept of infinity into reality as an actual number which he can then apply to certain attributes, such as the space between him and others in his barrier technique, or the amount of information given to someone inside his domain. *SPOILERS AHEAD - FULL EXPLANATION OF GOJOS POWERS* Another application of this technique is Gojos blue cursed technique, which causes an implosion as it compacts matter into a singularity point. Gojo can also feed reversed cursed energy into this technique instead of regular cursed energy in order to do the opposite - cause an explosion, and this is his reverse cursed technique red. Using both of these techniques on one space is basically what hollow purple is, which overwrites the space with an imaginary mass which erases everything, no matter how strong. The thing that sets gojo satoru apart from previous gojo clan members is his second technique, six eyes, which gives him the ability to analyse everything instantly and also grants immense neural processing power in order to process all this information, and in combination with his limitless technique, he can analyse objects subconsciously and let them through his barrier technique based on several different attributes, such as cursed energy level, speed, mass, sharpness, etc, and he can apply subconscious filters for these objects or use it manually. He uses the six eyes brain processing power to do this, combined with a subconscious reversed cursed healing technique constantly running on his brain to keep his brain in top shape. Six eyes grants the user the ability to see every moment as a long amount of time, allowing super-fast thinking in a split-second. The power of six eyes is so strong that it can give the user the ability to see through objects, and this means gojo usually wears blindfolds or very dark sunglasses in order to dampen its power and reduce the amount of information to a comfortable level, but the six eyes needs to be inhibited in order to use some techniques (e.g. domain expansion) Gojos barrier technique is not unbeatable, all that needs to be done in order to counter-act its effect is by applying a simple domain or a domain expansion, and then you can attack. This is why jogo uses his domain expansion in this fight, because it overrides the barrier technique, hence why when jogo sends magma and rocks flying at gojo while in the domain, gojo blocks it with his hand instead of it being stopped by the barrier. Gojo can also seemingly warp instantly, somehow (idk about this one it ain't explained lmao)
I think the names are just generally hard to remember for people who don't speak or aren't that familiar with Japanese. However, it's a bit confusing when two characters have a very similar name - like Gojoo and Joogo or Hanami, Nanami and Manami.

Domains are an important thing to learn for your anime journey in general, not just for this anime. They come up a lot - even MORE so in Chinese culture, but still frequently in Japanese.

Friend of mine gave me a Jujustu Kaisen pen as part of a bday gift months ago. At that point, I hadn't seen the anime, but I was hooked the second I finished the first episode! Love getting to see Gojo's immense power in this episode, and those eyes...let's just say my favorite color is now Gojo's eyes.

Here's a fun reminder: the curse at the detention centre was considered a special grade. A 2-finger Sukuna completely demolished that Special Grade. Jougo is almost 5 times as strong as that. Gojou still absolutely annihilates him with just as much ease. To say that Gojou is a special-grade sorcerer is in and of itself an understatement.

I don’t think gojo knew yuji would come back but I think he did know it was a possibility, what gojo was really angry about is that the higher ups would use his absence to try and murder his students
Gojou knew there was a possibility that Itadori could come back via a pack with Sukuna but it wasn't guaranteed especially considering that Itadori's personality would more often than not completely reject a deal with Sukuna and the fact it took as long as it did means he thought it wasn't going to actually happen which is why he allowed the autopsy/disassembly of his body to go forward.

Not spoilers, just explanation/fun facts to help you understand the plot so far based on what's been revealed up to ep7: 1. The 1st year students are Fushiguro Megumi (spiky haired guy), Itadori Yuuji, and Kugisaki Nobara. The 2nd year students are Zenin Maki (green haired girl with glasses), Inumaki Toge (bowl cut white hair guy who speaks sushi ingredients only), Panda, and 1 skinny black haired student who is overseas. The 3rd year student is Hakari Kinji, another student who is also overseas. 2. The long black haired guy with stitches on his forehead you saw in this ep is not one of the students since you could see the faces of the students who are overseas if you rewatch the ep where Gojou mentioned them. So feel free to make another theory😁 3. The stitched forehead guy called the last dude you saw on this ep "Mahito". His name in kanji is written as 真人 which literally means "true human". But since we know Japanese love playing around with words, Mahito could also be written as 悪人 which means evil/bad human. I just assume it would be more exciting to make theories if you knew about the words play in this show as well😁 4. "We're the true human". The curses we've seen so far up to ep7 have mentioned this several times. I wonder what that could mean.... Anyways, looking forward to your next jjk reactions!

Absolute FACTS about LOtR! Best trilogy ever for sure. No spoilers, but the strong student who's away overseas was called ''Yuta'' by Gojo. This mysterious dude who didnt want the school to see him is named ''Getou''. But nice guess though.
dunno if anyone’s ever explained gojo’s technique but it’s basically just maths. like he said, his limitless technique that is passed down through his family brings infinity to reality, allowing him to manipulate space at will using cursed energy (which is negative). his infinity barrier was alr explained so i won’t go into that. the cursed technique reversal: red he used reverses cursed energy to positive, thus creating positive distance which is how jogo flew away. the best way i’ve seen someone explain it is “think of it as +1”. he has another technique (blue) that will come up soon which is basically -1. and he also has something called hollow purple that is both blue and red, meaning negative and positive space. this creates a singularity that erases everything (-1 + 1 = 0). the reason why gojo is regarded as the strongest is because he possesses both limitless and six eyes (his blue eyes). alongside the limitless technique, his unique eyes allow him to perceive things faster and control limitless down to the atomic level. limitless is a complex technique and six eyes allows him to utilise it to the max.

I won't confirm nor deny whether Itadori would be stronger than the other 1st yrs after this training, but as someone else pointed out, he started waaaay behind. So he is currently playing catch up.
Gojo knew that Sukuna wont let Itadori die because he would lost chance to get back all of his fingers. Curses can only use fingers as power source but humans can absorb tham and he can reincarnate. But Itadori was only one who didnt get posesed and killed.

It's actually had been explained before that sorcerers power depends on the person talents, so event if 2 guys started at the same point their power would not be as powerfull as the other person if one of them doesn't really had the talent, and in this world bloodline is a big factor too
Sukuna is technically a bit different as far as Curses go. He's technically a former HUMAN, who elevated himself via sheer ability into an Artificial God by committing suicide at some point or another, as the terminology used goes
Yuji right now is basically a brute.
Hes super strong and can fight, he also knows how to create and control cursed energy on a basic level now.
But anything beyond that he has little clue.
His usefulness is very limited to " look in that direction and destroy anything there"
Gojo's powers are basically Zeno's Paradox--if you take a distance between two objects and infinitely divide it by half, they will never touch because the distances will only get infinitesimally smaller. This is how his powers work, where every time you half the distance between you and Gojo, your speed is cut in half, so you will never reach him.
And, yes, Jogo is a REALLY touch curse...but Gojo is basically a cosmic horror entity.
So the "school dude" you thought was the student overseas, was a nice idea.... but sadly this is why remembering names is important. So this dude working with the curses is called "Getou" and the student overseas you are thinking of is called "Yuta" so not the same person. Getou as you also noticed doesn't want his identity to be known to the Jujutsu school just yet... so is he connected to it??? Who knows???

Gojo is both types. He makes plans, but is aware that things could go horribly wrong out of his control, so he's also fine with being spontaneous.
Gojos domain essentially provides the victim with infinite information, including infinite amount of useful information that would help them win the fight, but because of the sheer volume of information, your brain can't handle it. It gives the victim an infinite amount of openings in gojo which could be used to win, but because there's so many, they don't even know where to begin. Its like a sensory overload but infinitely stronger, so it just stunlocks you and means you can't do anything.
Gojos infinity barrier technique is, like he said, basically not stopping you, but making it so the closer you are, the slower you go. This is sort of like Zenos paradox of Achilles and the turtle, or the ½+¼+⅛+... = 1 proof in maths. Your position relative to the edge of the barrier is like a exponential decay equation, where it tends to 0 but never reaches it, no matter your time/speed.
Gojos infinity technique in general is to bring the hypothetical concept of infinity into reality as an actual number which he can then apply to certain attributes, such as the space between him and others in his barrier technique, or the amount of information given to someone inside his domain.
*SPOILERS AHEAD - FULL EXPLANATION OF GOJOS POWERS*
Another application of this technique is Gojos blue cursed technique, which causes an implosion as it compacts matter into a singularity point.
Gojo can also feed reversed cursed energy into this technique instead of regular cursed energy in order to do the opposite - cause an explosion, and this is his reverse cursed technique red.
Using both of these techniques on one space is basically what hollow purple is, which overwrites the space with an imaginary mass which erases everything, no matter how strong.
The thing that sets gojo satoru apart from previous gojo clan members is his second technique, six eyes, which gives him the ability to analyse everything instantly and also grants immense neural processing power in order to process all this information, and in combination with his limitless technique, he can analyse objects subconsciously and let them through his barrier technique based on several different attributes, such as cursed energy level, speed, mass, sharpness, etc, and he can apply subconscious filters for these objects or use it manually. He uses the six eyes brain processing power to do this, combined with a subconscious reversed cursed healing technique constantly running on his brain to keep his brain in top shape. Six eyes grants the user the ability to see every moment as a long amount of time, allowing super-fast thinking in a split-second. The power of six eyes is so strong that it can give the user the ability to see through objects, and this means gojo usually wears blindfolds or very dark sunglasses in order to dampen its power and reduce the amount of information to a comfortable level, but the six eyes needs to be inhibited in order to use some techniques (e.g. domain expansion)
Gojos barrier technique is not unbeatable, all that needs to be done in order to counter-act its effect is by applying a simple domain or a domain expansion, and then you can attack. This is why jogo uses his domain expansion in this fight, because it overrides the barrier technique, hence why when jogo sends magma and rocks flying at gojo while in the domain, gojo blocks it with his hand instead of it being stopped by the barrier.
Gojo can also seemingly warp instantly, somehow (idk about this one it ain't explained lmao)
I think the names are just generally hard to remember for people who don't speak or aren't that familiar with Japanese. However, it's a bit confusing when two characters have a very similar name - like Gojoo and Joogo or Hanami, Nanami and Manami.

Domains are an important thing to learn for your anime journey in general, not just for this anime. They come up a lot - even MORE so in Chinese culture, but still frequently in Japanese.

Friend of mine gave me a Jujustu Kaisen pen as part of a bday gift months ago. At that point, I hadn't seen the anime, but I was hooked the second I finished the first episode! Love getting to see Gojo's immense power in this episode, and those eyes...let's just say my favorite color is now Gojo's eyes.

6:46 That kinda smart from the curse, Gojo is literally going to show how his abilities work and the curse said he couldnt sense any hostility, so why wouldn't you take that opportunity to figure out your opponents weakness.
Here's a fun reminder: the curse at the detention centre was considered a special grade. A 2-finger Sukuna completely demolished that Special Grade. Jougo is almost 5 times as strong as that. Gojou still absolutely annihilates him with just as much ease. To say that Gojou is a special-grade sorcerer is in and of itself an understatement.
Sukuna had 2 fingers when he killed the special grade, Gojo gave Yuji a second finger before going to the school for the first time

I don’t think gojo knew yuji would come back but I think he did know it was a possibility, what gojo was really angry about is that the higher ups would use his absence to try and murder his students
Gojou knew there was a possibility that Itadori could come back via a pack with Sukuna but it wasn't guaranteed especially considering that Itadori's personality would more often than not completely reject a deal with Sukuna and the fact it took as long as it did means he thought it wasn't going to actually happen which is why he allowed the autopsy/disassembly of his body to go forward.

Not spoilers, just explanation/fun facts to help you understand the plot so far based on what's been revealed up to ep7:
1. The 1st year students are Fushiguro Megumi (spiky haired guy), Itadori Yuuji, and Kugisaki Nobara. The 2nd year students are Zenin Maki (green haired girl with glasses), Inumaki Toge (bowl cut white hair guy who speaks sushi ingredients only), Panda, and 1 skinny black haired student who is overseas. The 3rd year student is Hakari Kinji, another student who is also overseas.
2. The long black haired guy with stitches on his forehead you saw in this ep is not one of the students since you could see the faces of the students who are overseas if you rewatch the ep where Gojou mentioned them. So feel free to make another theory😁
3. The stitched forehead guy called the last dude you saw on this ep "Mahito". His name in kanji is written as 真人 which literally means "true human". But since we know Japanese love playing around with words, Mahito could also be written as 悪人 which means evil/bad human. I just assume it would be more exciting to make theories if you knew about the words play in this show as well😁
4. "We're the true human". The curses we've seen so far up to ep7 have mentioned this several times. I wonder what that could mean....

No spoilers, but the strong student who's away overseas was called ''Yuta'' by Gojo. This mysterious dude who didnt want the school to see him is named ''Getou''. But nice guess though.
dunno if anyone’s ever explained gojo’s technique but it’s basically just maths.
like he said, his limitless technique that is passed down through his family brings infinity to reality, allowing him to manipulate space at will using cursed energy (which is negative). his infinity barrier was alr explained so i won’t go into that.
the cursed technique reversal: red he used reverses cursed energy to positive, thus creating positive distance which is how jogo flew away. the best way i’ve seen someone explain it is “think of it as +1”.
he has another technique (blue) that will come up soon which is basically -1. and he also has something called hollow purple that is both blue and red, meaning negative and positive space. this creates a singularity that erases everything (-1 + 1 = 0).
the reason why gojo is regarded as the strongest is because he possesses both limitless and six eyes (his blue eyes). alongside the limitless technique, his unique eyes allow him to perceive things faster and control limitless down to the atomic level. limitless is a complex technique and six eyes allows him to utilise it to the max.

And yea, he pretty much takes advantage of the scientific technicality theory that between everything, the distance is pretty much "infinite," since you just keep dividing the number and it never truly reaches 0.

Gojo knew that Sukuna wont let Itadori die because he would lost chance to get back all of his fingers. Curses can only use fingers as power source but humans can absorb tham and he can reincarnate. But Itadori was only one who didnt get posesed and killed.
