This boss is literally half finished, the hitboxes are broken and summons will sometimes break at the start and to top it off homie loves pinning you to a wall and you just die no matter how many times you try to roll out of the corner
Torrent dies in one to two hits. Unfortunately one hit is enough to stagger torrent, causing him to get killed since Gaius has a long ass fuck combo. So yeah, one hit staggers him and the second hit kills him.
I've messed up so many times and RNG ruined me since the boar was always charging me instead of my summons but i finally managed to destroy him with this method, thanks a lot, you saved me a tons of nerves

People like to pretend Fromsoft is this untouchable designer who only makes masterpieces but they make plenty of things that are simply shit. No “git gud”, no “weak point”, just pure unfairness. Sometimes, Fromsoft fails to make the distinction between “hard” and “annoying”
True, but unlike many other companies FromSoft actually listen to the community and will change things if necessary instead of keeping it bad forever. That’s why I like FromSoft anyway, they care as much as the players do
True there have been a few bosses they Nerfed though when this happens: Bed of Chaos Radahn Malenia To name a few. At least they relent when necessary and don’t just ignore the fans
This tactic seems to work, but in this video the boss doesn't do the attack where he leaps in the air and then does a massive gravity magic AoE attack. That can insta-kill the greatshield soldiers while he still has a good chunk of health left. So eventually iit might come down to luck.

I’ve noticed a lot of these DLC bosses have massive 1 shot aoes that go off way to fast and the start them up at point blank while you can’t cancel your animation. Some of them do 2 or 3 pulses of insane dmg just in case you manage to survive the initial shockwave you immediately get trashed by the 2nd wave while trying to top off your health with an estus…. C’mon FS do better😕
This, I want to see the devs actually play this fight legit cause it's clear that either they knew it was so bs that you need cheese or they don't playtest and we the players figured out a way to not get constantly hit by their unfair programming
i hope this helps someone. this boss has 2 attacks that are very annoying. the first is the charge. to dodge it you have to be virtually frame perfect, and dodge exactly sideways. i do mean exactly. once you get that down it wont hit you. as for the big wombo combo with him and the hog, just lock on and spam roll to the right, none of it will hit you. good luck
So it wasn’t just me? I was thinking maybe my blessing level wasn’t high enough, probably isn’t (seed lv 11) I know my ash summons aren’t ready for sure. But even at this level my +10 dragon Great Katana still does piss poor dmg 🤷🏿♂️
Sad really, they make these games so that now, I don't want to replay them after I've beaten them. Why bother, just makes the dlc's too hard and not enjoyable.... This dlc has made me think I'm taking these games to pc in future and I'll mod myself to a position where it's a fair and decent GAME
@@cosmicbilly Agreed, You first phase his left leg and then just try to survive his second phase. His attacks are also reasonably telegraphed and well hitboxed. Gaius here has mobility and the health to survive anything thrown at him for a good chunk of the fight.

That greatshield soldier ashes is really doing the trick. I tried it with other ashes but no success. With greatshield soldiers it works. They cause so much disctraction to him that you don't pull his aggression towards you when you spam your attacks. Worked after a couple of tries. Didn't even really need that corner, just in the beginning. What a crap boss. Now I understand why this DLC has mixed ratings. Even for summoning your ashes you need to cheese around that corner, otherwise the chance is very high that he kills you instant in seconds. This boss is really complete bull****.
It worked! BB comes through again. After trying, and respec'ng to use Mohg's spear (which didn't work) this worked perfectly with the summons. Thanks!!!

Goddamn. This was brilliant. Had beaten this boss before with my mimic on my NG+6 file but on my NG+7 he was just destroying me. There's challenging bosses (Messmer) and there's this insanity that doesn't even make sense. Thanks dude, just subbed!
I used save manager's god mode, I don't want to use it, but some bosses in this dlc is just beyond unfair. Lv 303, lv 13 sadutree and still getting one shot. People that say just collect the sadutree frags have no idea what they are talking about.
Right😂 I've gone out of my way to get every single one of them possible before fighting the bosses, and there isn't a single remembrance boss of this dlc that doesn't one shot me with 50 vigor and the solitude armor set. I think I'm at 14 now and still getting two/three shot by most bosses because the first hit will always fucking stagger me and then I can't do anything until they hit me again and I die. So basically if I make a single mistake at any point in the fight I die. Doesn't help that I started blind and in ng+2 lmao my fault I guess I knew what I was getting into. Still a great dlc though, but they can definitely cut back on the relentless 8 hit combos
How much vigor do you have? Lmao I'm playing in NG+7 and have 8 fragments, yet i am nowhere close to getting one shot. You're either over exaggerating out of anger, or you have low vigor, and wearing soreseal or other talismans that make you take more damage. I'm level 259 on NG+7 and I'm not getting one shot, you're clearly doing something wrong.

He stays 100ft away unless I'm at close range. There is zero possibility at blessing 8 ng 7 lmao he's not struggling.

The only thing that makes this boss not a miserable to fight is that every time i walk through the fog gate and he starts charging at me, i get to scream "HOG RIDAHH!!!"
what i did was a random cheese i didnt mean to, between the place he first ran and the other side of the wall is where the boss kept stuck was trying to hit me through the wall so i kept hitting with mohg special he hit me a little bit but died
like the boss entering place corner and the place this guy ran, the boss was in this guys place and i was near the boss entrance after a chase and run and thats how i did it
By far the best strategy that worked is to use soldiers ashes and Sacred Relic sword ability, did like 5k damage from really really far and had a wide range. This video helped me a lot, thanks.
I lost 2 million runes to this guy. Had twiggy tear and all. Dropped the runes after twiggy ran out, collected them with twiggy on, died and the little branch grave is nowhere on the map but I was left with 0 runes.

BLADE ( you will use) ANY HAMMER WITH BLEED (i used Bloodfiend’s Blood Arm) FINGERPRINT STONE SHIELD SHARD OF ALEXANDER GODFREY ICON ROTTEN WUNGED SWORD ISIGNIA CARIAN FILIGREED CREST OPALINE BUBBLETEAR OPALINE HARDTEAR GOLDEN VOW run to the wall, summon, and hold your ground, let him aggro your summon, and use blasphemous blade’s skill over and over. take your time, heal, do what you need.
This boss is broken, I haven’t used a spirit summon since my 2nd or 3rd play through of the original game but i just want to cheese this boss and get him done with he sucks
I used a great shield to tank through the charge and used messmers spear r2 with mimic hitting him with rotten breath. Using that corner is smart. Wish I would’ve done that.
If what they were going for is to have players look for a cheese and then teabag their boss for 2 minutes straight...well, mission accomplished. Sad to see from such a studio. Truly awful design. Their boss fights have become more and more solo unfriendly!
I like how they allowed you to use Torrent but make his whole body a huge fucking hitbox while he’s charging, I double jumped to his disarmed side but he still slammed me somehow, I don’t like boss cheesing but this one is so unenjoyable and annoying that I had to do it. Also the roll timings are so random, one time you dodge it, second time you’ll get hit even though you did the same move.
Worked for me also. Only change i made was switched spirit used on video to mimic tear tank build. Blasphemous blade on the contrary is must here to keep the distance and give him good hits. Mogh trident on the other hand could be better if you have enough arcane
IMO this is fromsoftwares worst, hardest and Most unfair Boss, No its the Most unfair Thing on Planet earth, and in our Galaxy. I tried him for about 300x and still wasnt able to Hit him more than once so far haha
This is by far the worst designed encounter in the dlc. You can’t outrun him on torrent but the game clearly wants you to fight him on horseback. You can’t summon when you walk in the door because he sprints right fucking at you the second you walk in. His hit box is so fucking jank it’s impossible to reliably dodge his attacks and he barely has any openings. Messmer took me three tries. Lord of the Frenzied Flame took me one try. This fucking obese Albinauric riding a pig took me 40+ tries, two character re-specs, and a full day of effort before I reverted to this cheese. I do not regret it
When every cheese video oncludes the blasphemous blade its no longer a cheese and just a broken weapon lol. The around the corner thinf helped me tremendously though
I managed to beat him in the same spot. He got stuck in the wall, charging at me and I used that rot butterfly incantation on him. He killed me, but the scarlet rot killed him right after me and I won. So same idea, different cheese xD
This is literally the hardest boss I've ever fought in my entire life I literally killed Bale without even trying my first goal just by learning his moves in the arena and I killed Messmer my little first try not knowing that that was his boss room this boss fight is literally the hardest thing I've ever done in my entire life it is so broken

Messmer isn’t that hard when you learn his movements. The final boss and a few other are way harder
Messmer is arguably the fairest fight in the entire game. This boss is straight up broken.
I don’t mind a hard fight however this boss was annoying. I mean if you want to fight on the horse fine, but you can’t even spawn the horse in time !!

This guy needs a patch, ive directly hit him many times and it just doesn't register all while his attacks ignore my I frames.

Not to be critical, but I’m unsure how you’re getting one shot at lvl 13 scadutree and lvl 303 with what I can only assume is 60 vigor.

I used a great shield to tank through the charge and used messmers spear r2 with mimic hitting him with rotten breath. Using that corner is smart. Wish I would’ve done that.
If what they were going for is to have players look for a cheese and then teabag their boss for 2 minutes straight...well, mission accomplished.

I like how they allowed you to use Torrent but make his whole body a huge fucking hitbox while he’s charging, I double jumped to his disarmed side but he still slammed me somehow, I don’t like boss cheesing but this one is so unenjoyable and annoying that I had to do it. Also the roll timings are so random, one time you dodge it, second time you’ll get hit even though you did the same move.
Worked for me also. Only change i made was switched spirit used on video to mimic tear tank build. Blasphemous blade on the contrary is must here to keep the distance and give him good hits. Mogh trident on the other hand could be better if you have enough arcane
I had to respec, go full giga smash strength and stamina mode, and use the fingerprint shield plus the greatsword. Only way I could do it.

IMO this is fromsoftwares worst, hardest and Most unfair Boss, No its the Most unfair Thing on Planet earth, and in our Galaxy. I tried him for about 300x and still wasnt able to Hit him more than once so far haha

This is by far the worst designed encounter in the dlc. You can’t outrun him on torrent but the game clearly wants you to fight him on horseback. You can’t summon when you walk in the door because he sprints right fucking at you the second you walk in. His hit box is so fucking jank it’s impossible to reliably dodge his attacks and he barely has any openings. Messmer took me three tries. Lord of the Frenzied Flame took me one try. This fucking obese Albinauric riding a pig took me 40+ tries, two character re-specs, and a full day of effort before I reverted to this cheese. I do not regret it

He got stuck on that first corner you go around for me so i could just spam rivers of bloods L2 and hit him through the wall
I managed to beat him in the same spot. He got stuck in the wall, charging at me and I used that rot butterfly incantation on him. He killed me, but the scarlet rot killed him right after me and I won. So same idea, different cheese xD

This is literally the hardest boss I've ever fought in my entire life I literally killed Bale without even trying my first goal just by learning his moves in the arena and I killed Messmer my little first try not knowing that that was his boss room this boss fight is literally the hardest thing I've ever done in my entire life it is so broken
