I grow gourmet mushrooms (the legal kind lol). If you want the morels to grow much more, here's the way. Pick 3-4-5 morels, and blend them in a blender with some water. Then, add that into a 5gal bucket with a few more gallons. This assures the spores will be distributed. Then, take the bucket to a spot that is favorable for their growth. You will end up with a lot more morels, and it you do this at least once a year (more if possible), you'll get bumper crops year after year. The water helps to get the spores into the base layer of your substrate below the leaves and along rotting logs and the base of trees. This is the best way to increase your yields and keep them growing year after year!
I love mushrooms and I love nature. I have never gotten to try wild mushrooms before. I wish I was able to go out and try to find some of these, I bet they're really good. Thank you for the very interesting and informative video.❤
Wow. What a haul of lovely mushrooms. Well done. I wonder if Jamie realizes how lucky she is to have herself a man so resourceful as Kevin.🍄🦌 My ex went out "for a pint" at 11am one day. I called as he was going out the door "Bring back a pound of mushrooms" from the local market he had to pass. I stayed home with the kids. When he still hadn't come home by 7pm I gave up on the mushrooms and locked and bolted the door. When he finally came home he had a pizza. I don't like pizza. He did this sort of thing twice in the 11yrs we were together. He had to go.
Boy I sure miss morel mushroom hunting! Always did it growing up in Northern Indiana! Boy you are right never tell anyone where you find them! Always put in a mesh bag also.
@@ourlifeadventures8992WAIT, WAIT!! I don't mean that he likes checking YOU Jamie!? 😮😅 I mean it is his favorite job to check ME, his lovely wife for ticks. Whew... that was a close one 😳 I almost started a scandal there for a minute! 😂
I grew up in NC mountains and my grandmother would go mushroom hunting and find big brown and white ones and she showed me how to tell the poison ones from ones you can eat...the editable ones have like a milk substance in them. She would bring home wash them and flour them and fry them. They are delicious.
Please be careful with morels. They must be fully cooked before consuming. Multiple people consumed uncooked morels prepared as sushi several died and others extremely ill. Google Bozeman, Colorado & mushrooms for details.
I love what you guys have with your extended family . I wanted to hit the like button as I was strolling through I can’t hit the like button for your all or give you a thumbs up. I want to help
I’ve never seen or heard of these mushrooms before. I love hunting for shells and driftwood on the beach so I know how exciting it must be hunting mushrooms I love the idea I don’t think we have them here on the Gold Coast Queensland, Australia. 🙏🌻🥰🍀😀
I sure do like mushroom picking. I would go with my dad. We lived on the prairies in southern Alberta Canada. There wasn't a large variety of mushrooms. There is nothing like sautéd mushrooms on your steak.
I would love to be able to do that. I wouldn’t know which ones are good and which ones wouldn’t I be too afraid thank you for sharing this video with us. It’s very informative. I would’ve never known to look around ash trees.
April 6 i turned 66 . I would never know what was Good Mushrooms .How did you all learn which ones to pick?? Bears enjoying his trip in the Woods. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
My hubby and I use to do this until we just not able to anymore. Love the mushrooms 🍄 Bear was enjoying it as well. I did learn a little extra things thank you both.
I live in northern Michigan and have been hunting morels since I was a little girl. When my mom moved to Tennessee I would ship them to her bc she loved them so much. They don’t have seeds though they have spores.
My son grows several different types of mushrooms..he makes jerky..tinctures and many other things..if u like morels u wud love mohave...and several others he grows
I didn't know you could eat those we have those growing in wood's behind our house.. but I'm with Jamie wood's were different "before" so was camping😊 nice comfy house is better now. Down here in Georgia I'm waiting for the skeeters to get bad.
Wow that was pretty interesting I didn't know you could hunt for them. I enjoyed going along looking. Poor Bear as little as he is he still got hit in the head with a couple of little branches lol. I would be terrified of the snakes
You guys are so awesome. I learned something new today. I appreciate your entire social media outfit. The animals most of all. Thanks again for sharing.🤎🐒💛🐕💚🐎💙🐪🧡🐇💜🦃❤🐑🖤🦜🤍
I’ve never had morels. I hope to one day. I hear they are like eating a good steak! I love mushrooms, never hunted for them before. This was very informative. Thanks for letting me tag along!
this is one of my favorite hobbies. I haven't seen any morels up here in New York yet but hoping to because last year I found a decent bit. hoping we have a good season this year with the warmer weather. id love to get a good chanterelle harvest . last year the most abundant type I found everytime I went out were golden oysters
I haven't been morel hunting in ages. It was always fun. I need to go check our woods here in MS and see if there are any though it might be kind of late for them. It has been a cold spring so, who knows? I have found them close to tulip poplars, black cherry trees, wild azaleas along a pond, privets at an old homesite and even along an old rotted cedar laying on the ground. People go crazy picking them because they are valuable and can be sold for a lot of money. I've seen them for as high as $75 a pound. It's a shame there aren't more hunters like you. It's about like ginseng. Market got high and people started stripping the hillsides of them. I'd rather have the ticks instead of chiggers. One, you can see the ticks and pick them off and two, you don't itch to death for ages from them. Chiggers = sheer misery. Rofl! It was too cold for snakes to be active plus Bear probably would have seen one before you did. Monkeys have a natural dislike of snakes. The Pepsi bottle was a cool find.
Ps you two are so funny. 😹 I don’t like the idea of Ticks or Bitey things, either, but much to some people’s horror, I would be covered in bugs spray so I don’t get bitten 🙏🌻🥰🍀😀
Looks like wild raspberries or black caps all over. Do yall pick this too? First week of July is when they're ready here, id guess end of May, beginning of June for yall

Kevin is funny. He sneaks up on the mushrooms.
You guys are by far some of the coolest folks there ever was!
I went today and found five to train my pocket beagle hound how to scent track them!
kev is also totally right . foraging is so ,much fun especially when you're finding mushrooms that sell for 30-45$ a pound in the local stores
I love mushrooms and I love nature. I have never gotten to try wild mushrooms before. I wish I was able to go out and try to find some of these, I bet they're really good. Thank you for the very interesting and informative video.❤

We live in Colorado and haven’t seen these kind of mushrooms. We have turkey tail and regular ones. Going to have to go out and look in the willows.
Put your mushrooms in an onion bag when picking so you can drop spores in other areas.
We normally do
What a great way to spend time in nature and you end up with something yummy. Thanks for sharing.
I hate mushrooms but the morels cooked by my mother were always amazing! We would go hunt on Sundays as a family. Good memories ❤
I’m the same
It’s nice to see the serious side of Kevin for a change. I do enjoy the funny side just as much. I learned a lot about mushrooms today.
I live in western PA and if I walked in the woods I would be covered in ticks. I used to love the woods.
I LOVE fried mushrooms on butter bread! Enjoy the one you picked. My mouth is watering so bad I have to wipe my phone off.😋😋😋
You have Eagle eyes
What a beautiful area
I’ve always heard to thump the mushroom before picking. That helps spread the spores
That's correct
I like learning new things thanks Kevin
This is really cool. Kevin sure has sharp eyes to find those shrooms!
Thank you for sharing this. Y’alls property is so lovely.
I was looking through some old videos. You guys had and have? A puppy mill. That explains a lot

Nice mushrooms.
Do they have truffles in "Southern Kentucky"? They are worth more than their weight in gold.
So funny you 2 xxx ❤
Looks like wild raspberries or black caps all over. Do yall pick this too? First week of July is when they're ready here, id guess end of May, beginning of June for yall
Are there any mushrooms to stay clear of that look similar? I’ve always heard it’s impossible to pick mushrooms without spreading the spores. ❤.
