Wood Duck Nest Box Update

- Thank you for watching my live wood duck nest box camera. I put together a video of the day they jumped. There was a third duckling that couldn't get out of the egg. I went up on a ladder and got the egg and hand hatched the little guy. I spent a couple days caring for him the best I could and I was able to reunite him with his mom and siblings.

I was surprised the third one made it overnight without momma’s warmth, and the birdbath nearly claimed it. Should grow up to be a fighter! Thanks, Tim.
God bless you, Tim! You’re a kind and decent man. Thank you.
Outstanding stewardship Tim thank you for what you do
Thank you for being a good human!
"I'm tryin to find your mother" ❤
Nicely done Tim.
I'm betting on a successful reunion too since mama was talking to him.
Three out of six isn't bad.
Good save sir.
You are such a good guy Tim!!!
Your kindness & compassion for animals is lovely - your folks did a good job!
Good for you Tim👏👏👏👏
You're a good man, Tim.
Trail Cam backyard pickup ... with a rescue!
Well Done Tim 😀 thank you so much for the update. We watched the egg move and heard the duckling cheeping from inside, this is wonderful to see ❤️
Thank you!
When the mom and babies were crossing the road, I was going hot payment, hot payment. Great job Tim.
This footage was amazing. Great job!
You're a really good wood duck midwife. Well done sir.
I had a owl box and a screen owl loved in it for a while then a kestrel moved in. Finally a mother squrriel raised a family of three babies before the box fell off and broke.
You have a good heart.
Enjoy your trail cam viedos. Sad the park rangers kicked you out.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
I like that you removed all the wood shavings and put in clean ones.
HEY, YOU SAVED HIM!! I came into the live stream looking at four eggs, but with enough time that I could rewind and see momma and babies leave the nest...and the commenters were understandably catatonic over the little one hatching out that got left behind! We all thought he was a goner...thank you for saving the little guy!
YOUR OUR HERO TIM
💯💞💞 💞💞💞💞💃🏻
Great job Tim, you make a great foster dad!🤩🦆
You are a good man Tim!
Hi Tim and thanks for helping the little, one.
Thank you so much for taking care of the hatchling! ❤️❤️❤️
Those wood ducks sound like the Martians from the movie Mars Attacks 🛸
Baby ducks get their oils from the mother whom preens them from her oil ducts. This allows them to float. When I took duck chicks without a mom and took them to the pond in their first trip, they sank and so had to fish them out and dry them with the warmth of a light bulb. On the next trip out they had a great time until one found out he could dive, but he so buoyant that he rose up fast under another duck which scared the daylights out of it, he swam ashore so fast , and that scared all the other ducks also and they all got out of the water.
Awesome , Thanks Tim 😀
Thanks for the update, I missed the big jump and it's so cool to see. Good luck Little Guy, I think he's with Mom & sibs.
Ohhhhhhh this was sooooooo good! You did good Tim! thank you so much for sharing. Loved this!

I trust all is well with them. It will be interesting to see who uses your box next year.
Tim, when you broke your tripod I recommended you do birds for relaxation. Now I just recognized that this nest is yours as well. Be blessed!
Great stuff

Good video
Thanx Tim.🙂
Good man Tim. TY mh

🤗
👏👏👏
💕
Great video, Tim! Have you been ok? No nightmares?
I'm fine thanks.
The duck was hot and thirsty. She was open mouthed and chattered her beak. I’ve seen wild geese do the same while sitting nest.
What? You are his Mom and sbilings now.
What would you feed him ?
Well that answers my question from a few days ago! How high up were they? Tim's version of "Are you my Mother?"🦆
The box is about 12 feet off the ground
please tell me what the image on your home page is ....love your channel thanx
Obviously you will give an update on the duck mum and ducklings when you get more info.
Tim how are the Wood ducks? Have you seen them lately?
Tim, where's the live feed? Have you taken it down? I like to check on the ducks each day.
Hi Greg, so your a Heffernan. Where are you from?
@@carolineheffernan7368 Hi Caroline, pleased to meet you! I live in Brisbane, Australia. I have been told that I am part of four Heffernan brothers who left Ireland in 1849 and arrived in Sydney, Australia in 1850. My father was raised in Melbourne, Victoria. There are Heffernans all over Australia now. Where are you from?
@@Tanks_In_Space Thank you!!!
I raised a baby duck by feeding it worms.
Pretty Duck that looks out of place.
I think he sees you as his mother now
I was freaking out as they crossed the road. We’ve seen cars ploughing through mommies and chicks in northern Ohio
Buy a hatcher, u need a light for heat.
Did they come back?
no...
How high up in the tree is that nest?
It was up about 12-15 feet
Por experiencia le sugiero colocar el resto de huevos en una incubadora o separado un poco de un bombillo incandescente porque ella no vuelve
She must be a new mother..
