When, or if it comes out on Android, will you be able to use a mirrorless camera that can be used with wi-fi for the 'camera' part, & the davinci eye app used on the 'hand-held monitor' part..? 🤔
Im using da vinci on my android phone and mural maker on my ipad. But they both don't seem to connect for the live stream. Do both need to be apple devices?
If you want to paint a complete wall in a living room for example, where do you put the anchor? Because in a room you have the ceiling, and if you have to put out of the picture, i dont understand how, can you help?
It sounds like your anchor is too small for how far back the camera is and / or it is not detailed enough. To test this bring the camera device directly in front of the anchor right up close to it.
This is actually a completely separate app, Mural Maker is not available on Android yet. Da Vinci Eye works almost identically to the iOS version. We’d love to launch Mural Maker for Android, but you have to understand developing something like this for Apple’s 5 high end devices, all with the same hardware is much easier than developing this for Android’s 25,000+ devices of varying processing power, WiFi components, and cameras. It takes much longer to develop and test things like this for Android unless you choose just to make it for 1 particular brand of phone.
25000 is just a bit of an exaggeration but point taken. In point of fact Android is dominated by Samsung and maybe Google Pixel. Most artists would be using Samsung tablets. So you could at first just develop for Samsung last couple generations and state that, and later add a few more models. Therefore not actually much more difficult than Apple.
@@EPeltzer but a MUCH smaller market (ipads vs samsung tablets) - and most 'creatives' are already in the apple ecosystem (not all - I'm a long time 'droid, windows & linux user). I've build some really simple apps that got horribly complicated as soon as we expanded to tablets (lots of different form factors) and network support. Recent android libs are better, but this app is managing its own local network (streaming from the 'camera' to the tablet) so that adds some challenges, as not every device will implement the 'standards' correctly.
@@tonypcoyle Given the absolute schit sandwich experience I've had with my Pixel 8, this might be the push I need to go Apple. I just dislike the price. But if it prevents me from having a stroke or brushing with lead toothpaste, worth it I guess....
@@wingnutbert9685 Yeah. It's one of the examples where a closed ecosystem is highly beneficial. Apple designs for a very small number of form factors, and an even smaller number of OS versions. Android devs need to support EVERYTHING. Lots of opportunity for innovation at the cost of immense balkanization of the space. I still find enough value in the 'droid space that I don't have a compelling reason to switch. If I found myself in a company that was mac-centric that calculus might change.
@@alfredosolis923 But how much would you pay? The market is limited, fer DaVinci user's will want to paint murals, and the developer has said already that development cost is/will be high. I predict this app will never be available for Android. I hate to say it but maybe buy used (cheaper) Apple kit if you really need this app.
@@davincieye Thank you for this explanation. I shall downgrade my desire for Android version. If I REALLY need it I shall try to buy used cheaper Apple kit (horror)
why do u need to desconect from the wifi? i dont understand, do i need date to work with the app ? i dont have data on my phone, hahahah how do i do if a want to make a big wall?
Crap app.....the word accuracy should not be used for this app. Do not pay for it, it will drive you crazy as it is constantly out of focus, not synched properly and you won't be able to see your pencil exactly where you want it to be. I wanted to use for a large mural but it just messed up the whole design. Use a proper grid or enlarge your pictures piece by piece with a printer and then use charcoal to transfer it on to the surface. It may be time consuming but it's definitely cheaper than an app so badly designed.
@@TheBarchi1 hi there! I’m sorry you were having issues with the app. We have super fast customer service and do video calls to help you troubleshoot. How well the app works depends a lot on the devices you are using, older devices do not work well as they tend to not have great WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity compared to new devices. Also, the app isn’t for every use case. If you’re doing fine details on very large murals it might not be the app for you. I’d be happy to help try and sort things out if you want to shoot me an email, also I appreciate the feedback.
@@davincieye I have an iPhone 14 and an iPad so, definitely not old devices. I am a painter and had to work on a location for a very short time. Normally, I can draw things myself but as the time was very limited I wanted to try your app. Is not even a matter of little details as it was a very simple image to transfer on a large piece of paper. I couldn't even see what I was doing with the pencil. It was very frustrating and cancel the trial after a wasted long day, trying to work it out. Thanks for offering to help but I really don't think it will change the outcome.
How are they suppose to keep up with updating the app, if it’s free? How is the creator of the app suppose to benefit from it? Where does it say it’s free?
I have Davinci Eye for Android and want this too for Android.
Is Mural Maker for Android coming soon please?

Just put it in the negative space of your composition
It would be EVEN better if you could go 'hands-free' by using the likes of Ray-bans' Stories for the 'receiver' device... 🤔👍
The program does not ricognize the anchor. Which could be the problem?
Just Apple devices?
Do both devices need cellular capabilities if I have to turn WiFi off on both?
Nope! No cellular needed. The app directly connects both devices together.
Is there any estimate for Android users? Or it's better not to count on that? thank you
Thanks or making this. I may use it at some point to make paintings from digital photos I take or digital art I've made.
geht das auch mit samsung Tablet ?
When I turn tracking on the screen the image on my iPhone goes away. What am I doing wrong?
It sounds like your anchor is too small for how far back the camera is and / or it is not detailed enough. To test this bring the camera device directly in front of the anchor right up close to it.
I don't have the option on my ipad to use as "drawing device", how come?
You are probably not using the right app. This app is called Mural Maker
Feel gutted that the Apple app is so much better than android,is there a reason for that?

Why this is not available on Android
it is. had it for months.
this only works on Apple.
Wait…when I’m connected to WiFi, the icon is blue, when I disconnect from WiFi the icon is white
Yes the WiFi button should be white this stops the phone from connecting to a router but allows a connection between the two devices directly
