Great little video Joe ,thanks for sharing, another job on the pending list.
I’ve been doing exactly this for quite a while, well slightly different but using that float. Thanks Joe
Go on Grumpy!
@@MatchFishingFilms Hi Joe, I slightly converted a blob last year for use on the pole for mugging, don’t know if you still do them but Preston did a waggler float that had weighted discs ? Anyway these discs are the same size as the weight under the blob, so I glued the extra weight underneath, this gives the float that slightly extra weight needed to swing the rig out on a long line, it cocks instantly and is really visual and easy to control, plus with 0.22 line it never tangles. This summer I really want to get into paste fishing, I have purchased 3 of your lovely paste floats and can’t wait to get out there, so I will probably be picking yours and Des’s brains on the paste lol. Ps I’m actually not really really old (55), for you yes lol, but Des no, it’s my kids that call me grumpy lol. My name is Keith and i live in Norfolk. I think it’s nice to know a bit about who you are talking to isn’t it, so you will know in the future. Love all your videos so thank you, and Des for putting the time in to do them for us. Cheers Keith.
Hey Joe, I’ve just finished my new korum blob project and would love to send you a couple of pics of my new creation if possible ?
Hi Joe great video just ordered all my bits I love making my own stuff cheers Fuzz
Good video, I use those floats, I might adapt some now. Just a tip, buy some black nail varnish and use it for the float. I took my nieces old nail varnishes and they are much cheaper to buy than float paints. I have black, red, orange and grey. Dries really well and its waterproof. I make loads of floats from scratch now 👍👍
Getting the ingredients on order. Great idea. Thanks for tip.
Get some 2g loadings too, sometimes the floats are a bit inconsistent
@@MatchFishingFilms Will do Joe, Also thinking of using 5 or 6lb fluoro for the float attachment?
*These are very small, lightweightits **enjoyable.fishing** recommend they’re meant to use with the trout magnet 1/16 oz jigs however they also work great for fishing live bait. My son and I have caught crappie, blue gill, bass and catfish using these for various setups. You can fish slipit style or pinch you line between theit and the shaft for a non slip setup.*
Love it Joe...won’t be long before that little beauty comes out to play :-)
Fingers crossed!
Many thanks for your prompt reply that's what I have done
Great idea, I wonder if a large pencil sharpener could be used instead of scissors to trim the bottom part? Where can you buy the 3g loading weight from please? Thanks
Great float & video Joe, any chance you could list the loaded blob float & weight manufacturer.
Cheers in advance Joe. 👍🏻

@@MatchFishingFilms cheers Joe but what about the new weight you crimped on at the bottom of the blob float🤔
Search cralusso float weights 👍
What he said ☝
@@derekprescott9809 cheers 👍🏻
Nice one Joe 👍
Thanks 👍
could you tell me about the worm fishmeal? would it be good in winter for skimmers or summer carp?
brilliant Joe many thanks for sharing do you varnish the top at all?
I don't, and it's probably not necessary at the base neither. just me being faffy!
@@MatchFishingFilms ta Joe 🌟
Hi Joe, great vid as always, now that the new Preston pellet wagglers have been launched could/would you use one of the 2 or 3g instead or is there a reason these wouldn’t work as well?
I just use the Preston ones now to be honest
Hi joe, would a bayonet/bait spike work if you superglued/mitre bonded it in to the existing hole of the original float? Then a dab of glue on top to seal the hole👍🏻
Give it a try :) the floats are dirt cheap so buy a few packs and experiment
hi joe got all the gear 3g blobs plus 3g weights, line ,nail varnish plus rings done every thing as you showed in video ,and float just sinks ,what am i doing wrong joe ,cheers ,micky
Some are a bit light. U can swap and put 2g weights on or trim the 3g weights 👍
Have you tried it with a flat bottom Joe, Would it not stop it from diving under as much?
It doesn't dive at all as the body is very buoyant
Hey Joe, I got the idea to make it somewhat changeable. I would like to know what is the pros (and cons) changing the inbuilt led to a different one. Is the float working differently? Or easier/more precise to cast with it?
I just find it casts easier. But some of my colleagues just use the standard weight so it's personal preference really
nice video but using float and loading suggested they sink ?? Bill
Hey Bill sometimes the floats come up light. In that case I nibble away at the loading with sharp scissors until it floats. Or use a 2g loading.
Hi Joe. How does this improve on the original design? Thanks for clarifying. Nick
The original is in line so doesn't sit right for mugging etc
Great tip Joe, have you tried with the end of a drennan puddle chucker?
I'm not sure what you mean?
@@MatchFishingFilms the base of a Drennan puddle chucker float is detachable also the weight
I'll try to send a picture
joe where did you but the eye rings from and where did you get the non toxic split shot from as i have searched and can not find 3g shot
They are cralusso weights. Get some 2g and 3g. And the rings are just carp rig rings. Lots of brands do them
@@MatchFishingFilms cheers for your help
Top job joe try using black nail varnish then u kill two birds with one stone no need for black pen and seals it to 🎣
I have made some from Pipets cut about 10mm from the main bulb just put water in to make them cock and a glued bung in the end with a swivel. Cast well too.
hi Joe please show me how to tye a spade end hook with band hair rig with a matchman hook tyer there is a way but don't understand it regards
I wouldn't know where to start and to be honest see no advantage to doing this
Your a man after my own heart making things for fishing, Why does Rob Wootton refer to you as Smokey Joe in some videos.
Not sure, just a nickname I guess ha ha
What is the advantage of converting this from the standard float ? Not seeing it for some reason.
Well it's inline for a start
@@MatchFishingFilms Ok so it's inline for a "start "what's the rest then ?
3lb mainline would scare me a bit for carp float work I’ve never been brave enough to go less than 5
You would be surprised with the right rod 👍
Great idea, but the actual weight of blobs are 1 gram, even though package states 3 gram ,so not suprisingly they sink!
They are weird as I have some that fish nicely with a 3g weight and others that need a 2g. Must be variances in the foam used
The weight when removed weighs 1gram.
Could you use a bayonet screw for the rig instead a rig ring or wouldn't that work? Love the video going to try this in summer
Give it a go Michael :)
@@MatchFishingFilms Thanks Joe really like the content found it very handy and the tips you give have really helped me progress my fishing the past year. Only one area I would like to do but never believe I'm good enough and that's match fishing
What weights are those Joe
Cralusso
@@MatchFishingFilms Cheers Joe
Any videos of it in action cheers
